A. Preparation 1. Motivation:
Present picture/ real different nail care tools and equipment. The teacher will instruct the students to
identify the different material presented and will ask:
 When are you are going to use those things?
Expected answer: During sewing activity.
 What do you think is our topic for today?
Expected answer: Sewing Tools, Materials and Equipment
B. Presentation 1. Divide the class into 2 to 3 groups. With the help of the LM and the actual objects the teacher will
have an interactive discussion of the following topics:
a. Sewing Tools;
b. Materials; and
c. Equipment

After the discussion the teacher will ask:


 What do you think is the importance of studying the appropriate use of each tools and
equipment in sewing?
C. Practice Show sewing tools and equipment to the class and let them name it and explain its use. Example:

Show more pictures as you want.


5. Assessment
Tests (Pen and Let the students answer.
Paper Test)
Read the questions carefully. Write the answer on a separate sheet of paper.

Preparation for
the next lesson Group the students into 3 and instruct each group to bring manila paper, pentel pen and the following
tools and materials:
1. Tape measure 6. Meter Stick
2. Tracing wheel 7. Hip curve
3. Tailors Chalk 8. Sewing machine
4. Carbon paper 9. Tailors shears
5. French curve 10. Ruler
7. Wrap-up/ “Can You Guess Me?”
Concluding In this activity, every group is assigned to demonstrate the use of sewing tools (at least 10). Once their
Activity group is called to demonstrate in front of the class, the rest of the group will guess what tool or
equipment is being demonstrated. (Note: The assigned tools/ equipment is done through drawn by lot.)
Rubric: One point for every correct guess.
