A Lesson Plan in English 7

I. Objectives:
At the end of the session, students are expected to:

a. Identify what is fact and opinion

b. Appreciate the importance of Fact and Opinion through a song
c. Listen analytically to a song to distinguish fact from opinion

II. Subject Matter:

Topic: Distinguish Fact from Opinion
Instructional Materials: Speaker, Laptop, worksheets, masking tape, etc.

III. Procedure:

a. Prayer
b. Checking of Attendance
c. Reminders
1. Motivation:
 Short Activity – “Who Am I”
 Word Game – Observe the statements that you see in the board
and identify the scrambled word.
2. Lesson Proper:
a. The teacher will have review about the previous topic.
b. The teacher will introduce and discuss the new topic about FACT and
OPINION.
c. Present the guidelines of listening.

IV. Application:

1. The teacher will let the students listen to the song entitled “We are the
World” by Michael Jackson.
2. Before listening, the students will be grouped accordingly based on the
following small group activities.
a. GROUP 1: Predict
b. GROUP 2: Ask
c. GROUP 3: Guess
d. GROUP 4: Respond
e. GROUP 5: Focus
f. GROUP 6: Review
V. Generalization:

 Letting the students give their insights about the lesson.

VI. Evaluation:

 The students will answer the short quiz on the board.

VII. Assignment:

 You have to watch television news and list 5 facts and 5 opinions base on
the news you have viewed. Write it in a short size bond paper.
