RE: Allegations against the Department of Juvenile Justice/ Commissioner Avery Niles

Dear Governor Kemp,

The purpose of this letter is to request a special Task Force to address the allegations raised in the
11 Alive News concerning cover ups and other allegations against the Department of Juvenile
Justice (DJJ). I have received countless calls from past and present board members regarding
DJJ.

The allegations that have been made are as follows:

1. DJJ failure to address reports made by former DJJ administrators and employees
regarding misconduct, safety concerns and understaffed facilities.
2. Claims of Unreported Abuse.
3. Claims of Unreported Sexual Misconduct
