Parenting is perhaps the greatest responsibility of our life and mistakes and wrong decisions can ruin
a family as well as the future of a child. Since many young people become parents and the number
of nuclear families is on the rise, many experts emphasize the importance of parenting courses for
both fathers and mothers. I personally agree with this notion as I believe that such sessions would
be immensely helpful.

To begin with, proper parenting requires a great deal of knowledge and dedication. Sometimes
minor negligence and lack of knowledge can lead to catastrophic outcomes. For instance, if busy
parents forget to vaccinate a newborn, that would jeopardize the offspring’s life. Similarly, many
parents, especially from the countryside, have silly superstitions that influence them to make bad
choices. If those parents attend a course where experts share their opinions on different aspects of
child fostering and right parenting, they would be highly benefitted. For example, my cousin Paula,
who became a mother a few months ago believed that her child had a problem with digestion and
need medical attention. However, it was revealed that the way she fed her daughter was not
correct. I believe that a suitable course that brings out different aspects of upbringing a child, both
moral and practical aspects, would save many unexpected situations for newly become parents.

Moreover, the increasing trends of single parents and nuclear family lack the expert opinion of the
grandparents, unlike in the past. This is why the need for such parenting sessions has risen even
more. Such sessions bring parents together, let them share their views, forms a social relationship
and help people learn the real facts about their personal prejudices. This is a great way to educate
to-be-parents and newly-become-parents learn more about practical aspects of parenting and in a
broader sense make a better society.

To conclude, being informed and educated parents is an important aspect to become good parents.
Since parenting courses help people in a diverse way, it is indeed a good idea for people to
participate in such courses.

Traffic and housing problems in major cities could be solved by moving large companies and
factories and their employees to the countryside.

These days with increasing urban populations, there are major problems with congestion and not
only the price but also availability of accommodation in large cities of the world. It seems that one
possible solution could be to relocate large companies and factories as well as their respective
employees out of these urban areas and into more rural ones. I strongly agree that this would have a
positive effect in making cities more livable.

To begin with, the traffic problem in cities doesn’t only exist from commuting employees, but also
the general public travelling around the city. While this may be a fact, if the number of worker’s
vehicles is reduced on city streets, a large percentage of traffic will obviously decline in rush hours.
For example, peak hour traffic is undoubtedly made up largely of staff from companies going to and
from home.

Secondly, in regards to housing problems, populations will always continue to grow in cities and
therefore inadvertently decrease the number of cheap and available apartments. This is certainly
obvious, however, a large proportion of these apartments are occupied by employees from large
firms and their families. If this workforce is relocated to housing estates in the country, city
apartment blocks will fall in price and certainly increase in availability.

In conclusion, by relocating workers to rural areas to work and reside, heavy traffic conditions and
lack of adequate accommodation in city centers will obviously change for the better. As far as I’m
concerned, I agree that the government should enforce such a law in order to increase our standard
of living in our hectic city life.

How much responsibility a child should take and whether modern children are less interested in
performing their duties and obligations is debatable. While offspring in some countries still take
many responsibilities, a great number of them, in other countries, are busy with their education and
personal interests. I personally believe that the way children take responsibilities has changed over
the time, mostly as a positive change, and to what extent a child should carry out these liabilities
should be determined by the family and social condition.
To begin with, the social, economic and family structure in the past, in most of the developing and
underdeveloped countries, forced parents to distribute responsibilities among children and it was
common for many young children to work hard and take care of younger family members besides
their education. These young children learned how to manage budgets, share things with other
family members and face difficulties in life. Those important lessons, according to many, are no
longer spread among the modern young generation and thus they become more selfish.

However, with the change of the family structure and social norm, people these days want their
children to excel in education and other creative fields rather than taking care of the family. Joint
family predominated society and parents had more children in the past. With the rise of the nuclear
family and one-to-two-child-family policy, parents totally focus on a child's education, unlike in the
past. In my opinion, blaming children for not taking responsibilities is an impartial judgment as
modern children have far more pressure from schools and parents. They are not expected to earn
money or do household works in a well-to-do family. With the increasing literacy rates, less
discrimination in a family, women empowerment and better lifestyle, the trend has more positive
outcomes, without a doubt.

To conclude, these days we want our children to be the best scorer, best athlete, and outshine in
everything they do unlike the past when parents wanted assistance from their offsprings to support
the family. Thus the changes have brought numerous developments and the move was inevitable
with the paradigm shift of the social structure.

A country becomes more interesting and develops more quickly when its population includes a
mixture of nationalities.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Sample Answer ▼

Global migration of people began with the soaring industrialization and due to the major global
wars. As a result, many developed nations experience the amalgamation of different cultures and
traditions. It is often argued that this diversification of nationalities and cultures make the country
more attractive and help the nation progress faster. I agree with this viewpoint.

First of all, in a country with cross-cultural integrity, public areas, facilities, and tourists spots are
designed considering all inhabitants including expatriates. Shopping malls, entertainment centers,
beaches etc. public places become more appealing and usable. The cities become global towns and
bear the mark of truly diverse traditions and cultures. For example, in several countries many
nationalities reside and taking this in view, a global village is designed. Such global village attracts
thousands of tourists around the globe and it claims to be the world's tourist, leisure, shopping and
entertainment destinations.

In addition to this, cosmopolitan societies are better for the overall progress of a country. That is
perhaps why nations such as the USA, Australia, and Canada, which are primarily multi-cultural
societies, enjoy greater prosperity, stability, and harmony. The transaction between immigrants and
local residents would quicken the currency circulation and increase the demand for consumption
that are the two essential elements of economic development. Thus a country with different ethnic
groups and a diverse culture enjoy quicker progress and cultural richness.

In conclusion, counties with different cultural background and nationalities are much more
intriguing. It is undeniable that different nationalities in a country should be considered a welcoming
trend for the appeal and the fast pace growth of a nation.

The position of women in society has changed markedly in the last twenty years. Many of the
problems young people now experience, such as juvenile delinquency, arise from the fact that many
married women now work and are not at home to care for their children.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Sample Answer ▼
Over the last twenty years, the women empowerment and employment have gone through rapid
changes and more women are working in the different sphere of society than ever. This is, in fact,
advantageous for the overall growth of a country and at the same time, this is one of the main reasons
the juvenile delinquency has increased nowadays.

First of all, a child needs the tenderness and guidance of parents and if both parents are working they
have very little time to spend with the children. The trends of both working parents are leading
depression, lack of morality and lose family tie which has severe psychological damage among the
teenagers. This is directly leading to issues like crime, drug and immoral activities conducted by
adolescents.

Again, this is a long time trend that a father would bring the daily bread for the family while mother
would foster and take care of the children in most of the society and with the women empowerment,
this harmony has been changed. There is no harm in women employment and in fact, this is positive
from many perspectives and yet we can see an immense competition among the married couple
especially regarding their career while they totally overlook their needs for their children. Fatherhood
is important and he has many roles to play for the children but a mother, as we have seen throughout
the century, makes the major share of contribution towards upbringing the children. When a mother
has very little time to share with her kids, the problem related to juvenile crime increases.

The teenage time is a very sensitive time in everyone’s life and if parents can’t contribute their duties
at that time, the children have a chance to go astray. With working mothers, this is happening more
than ever.
