GUIDELINES AND SEAT ALLOCATION AND FEES FOR PG ADMISSION IN THE


ACADEMIC SESSION 2019-2020

Admission for M.A. / M.Sc. in different subjects (Bengali, Botany, Physics and Zoology)
will take place through submission of forms on-line available in the college web site.

The applicants have to submit the duly filled up application forms on line as well as has
to bring one duly signed print out copy of the same during collection of the prospectus.

In pursuance of the “Govt. Notification (No. 87/JS (MR)/12 dated 21.06.2012) regarding
the “Admission Policy in Post Graduate” 60% candidature will be filled by the affiliating
University (WBSU). The rest 40% seat will be filled up through a WRITTEN TEST
amongst the aspiring candidates from other universities / colleges as well as the affiliating
university. For the 40% category Merit list will be prepared giving equal weight to the
marks scored in the written test and the Merit Marks obtained in the Honours subject.

Criteria for admission:

For the 40% category Merit list will be prepared giving equal weight to the marks scored in the
written test and the Merit Marks obtained in the Honours Subject. Candidates applying for post
graduation in Botany & Zoology must have Chemistry as one of the general subjects in undergraduate
level.

 Preference will be given to the marks of the most relevant General subject in case of
candidates scoring equal Merit Marks in the Honours.

 For the Department of Bengali, candidate securing better marks in the subject at Higher
Secondary level will be given first preference and second preference will be given better
marks in the subject at secondary examination level.

 For the Department of Physics candidate securing better marks in Mathematics General at
B.Sc. level will be given preference.

 For the Depts. of Botany & Zoology, candidates securing better marks in Chemistry General
at B.Sc. level will be given preference.

 Preference will be given on the result of the written test in case any candidate qualifies for
both the 60% and 40% category.

mentioned underneath:

Reservation of seats will be followed as per Govt. Rules.

 As per the Notification no. 804 – Edn(CS)/10M – 95/14 dated 13/05/2019 of the
Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal admission for the
ensuing session 2019-20 will be made online(stand-alone mode) and details of which is
given below;
1) Prospective students would not be called for counseling or verification of documents
during the process of admission. No physical presence will be required at the colleges.
2) Eligible applicants would be informed directly by the college authority through email or
message.
3) Payment of fees can be done only through e-payment and not physically at the college.
4) Bank will receive admission fees on the basis of corrected merit list
Verification of necessary documents would be done when the students report for the classes in
due course. Admission will be cancelled if the documents are found not in conformity with the
declaration in the forms submitted online.

Xerox copies of SC /ST/ certificate to be submitted at the time of admission from competent
authorities as per G.No.1813-BCW/Mr- 94/11 Dt. 20-6-2011 (Not below the rank of S.D.O.).
Xerox copies of OBC-A/OBC-B certificate to be submitted at the time of admission from
competent authorities.
Candidates passed during the year 2019 are eligible to apply for post-graduation. In case of the
2018 passed out candidates a deduction of 2% will be considered from the Merit Marks obtained in
the Honours Subject.

 Verification of necessary documents would be done when the students report for the classes
in due course. Admission will be cancelled if the documents are found not in conformity with the
declaration in the forms submitted online. Candidates need to bring the following items for
verification.

1. Online the prospectus fee of Rs. 500/- and bring money receipt of the online payment
(generated through admission portal),
2. Duly signed and filled up admission form,
3. Two copies of passport-size self- photographs
4. Photocopies of the requisite documents clipped with the form, original copies of all the
testimonials at the time of commencement of classes.
5. Admission fee receipt of requisite amount (generated during online admission of the
selected candidates)
