PROPOSAL

Title of new product:

-Smoking Troubles

Programme Duration:

-3:00 Minutes

An executive summary (aims of product, outline of ideas,


synopsis):

-The purpose of this product is to reduce teenagers smoking


so I have made this anti-smoking video to reduce the yearly
spending of the NHS on smoke related disease. Try to raise
awareness about the smoking and how it would affect your
health by showing some facts about smoking. Stopping the
students from smoking so that it will improve their daily lives
as well as preventing from harming others around you when
you are smoking. Making sure that young people live a long
healthy lives, without any smoking related disease.

Product description

- I have aimed to create an anti-smoking that would


spread awareness about smoking that then would be
put on the social media. That would be advertised
through social media so it would more likely to get viral.
Budget

-We didn’t spend any money on this project, everything was


provided by school. They provided us with HD cameras so
could film our videos, as well as editing software to finalise
our videos. This allowed to make our videos very cheap.

Details of Production Company. What resources and


personnel are needed?

 Production Company- Computers, Editing software (iMovie),


iPad(camera)

 Resources- School uniform, paper, filming room ( empty


classroom)

 Personnel- Student would be the filming and the acting crew.

How you might market and distribute the programme

-My anti-smoking video would be entered a competition where


other people have made anti-smoking video and the winner would
be selected for having a best anti-smoking product. Another way that
I would advertise my smoking video on some of the social media like
Facebook, Instagram. In my opinion this would get my video a great
exposure and will gain some attention. Using Instagram as my main
social media because I aim to reach out to younger audience that are
move likely to use Instagram instead of other type of social medias
such as Twitter or Facebook.

Details Plot Outline
A plot of the video will be that the student will walk into an empty classroom to smoke a
cigarette while being in school hours. A boy will come in and start rolling a handmade
cigarette and being a dealer in this situation, where on the other hand other student walks
in and buys that cigarette off him and immediately leaving the room.

The time passes and the same student enters the same room to some the cigarette. He
enters with suspicion so that no one could caught him, then he opens the window to
attempt to smoke the cigarette.

Immediately a teacher enters the room and notice student smoking cigarette. Teacher then
stops the student from smoking and sends him into a detention.

In the detention teacher is attempting to educate the student about smoking, however
student continues to act ignorant and not listen to the teacher. In the teacher send the
student home and calls the mother of the student.

Finally a narrator enters the room and warns the audience about smoking and suggests to
visit a website for help with smoking.

Character Profiles

This is Josh he’s a side character that enters the plot by acting as the dealer
that makes the cigarette in school. Plays as the “shady “character that
doesn’t talk a lot, tries to hide his identity by using his hair to cover his face.
(He supposed to represent a starts of the problems as he is the supplier or
fuel for the main character’s smoking addiction)
This is Nick he’s the main character of this story, where he attempt to
smoking in school during the school hours. Plays as an ignorant student that
tries to act cool and not listening to anyone. (He supposed to represent a
teenager that is trying to act like an adult by proving that he can smoke.)

This is Owen and he’s a teacher that was supposed to teach the next lesson
in the same room and he catches the student smoking. Then he sends the
students to the detention where he tries to explain to him that smoking is
bad however the student remains ignorant and not listen to the teacher.
(He represents a strict teacher that will follow the school rules and act
upon student’s actions if they will step out of line of school’s policy within
the school premises.)

This is Scott and he’s a narrator at the end of the story, where he warns
people about smoking and provides a website that could help people that
are smoking. (He is shown as the mysterious character that tells a moral of
the story advising viewers to act upon their actions now if they have
problem with smoking, and even spreads awareness about smoking
problems in world by stating hard hitting facts)

Set Design
Empty classroom where student sneaks in to smoke cigarette during school hours.
The location was easily accessible because I was in school at the time, and I thought that it
would make a perfect setting form my story. Another reason why I chose to use an empty
classroom is because we had a strict deadline to follow and it would be the only accessible
place where I could film this video. However the reason behind my final decision was that I
chose to follow my storyline where a student would smoke inside the school, I thought that
it would be an eye opener for the audience to that now day’s student smoke in school and
should be a big concern.
