Material:
Abbreviations used:
Yarn weight: Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi) 100% cotton Chain (CH)
e.g. Catania Solids by Schachenmayr SMC
Slip stitch (SlSt)
Yardage: 136 yards (124 meters)
Unit weight: 50 grams (1.76 ounces) Single crochet (SC)
Gauge: 26.0 sts = 4 inches
Half double crochet (HDC)
You will need about 120 g for all purse
Double crochet (DC)
Hooks: 3,5mm, 3 mm
Colors:
222 light pink, 114 bright pink, 105 beige, 165 light blue (if you don´t find this color you could
use also number 253 – it is a little bit darker, but in same color line)
Other material: needle with blunt tip, Toho beads size 6/0, very small amount of toy filling,
about 48 cm/18,9 inches clothing braid with pompoms width 20 mm
Size of finished purse: hight 18 cm /7 inches, width 19,5 cm /7,7 inches
Instruction
Crochet with double yarn, hook 3,5 mm.
Body of the purse:

Beginning: Use light pink color and make: 5 CH and join it with slip stitch to form a ring
Round 1: 3 CH (count as first DC), 9 DC, join with slip stitch with first DC (10 DC)
Round 2: 3 CH (count as first DC), 1 DC in very first stitch, 2 DC in every stitch from previous
round – join first DC with slip stitch (20 DC)
Round 3: continue with light pink color - 3 CH (count as first DC), 1 DC in very first stitch,
(1 DC, 2 DC in one stitch) – repeat this group 9 times totally, 1 DC, join first DC with slip
stitch, end the work (30 DC)
Round 4: continue with light blue color - 3 CH (count as first DC), (1 CH + 1 DC) – repeat this
group 29 times totally, join first DC with slip stitch, end the work (30 holes)
Round 5: continue with bright pink color - 3 CH (count as first DC), 1 DC in very first hole
from previous round, 2 DC in every hole from previous round – repeat to the end of the round,
join first DC with slip stitch, end the work (60 DC)
Round 6: crochet with beige color: 4 SC, 2 SC in one stitch – repeat 12 times totally (72 SC),
join first SC with slip stitch, end the work.
Round 7: use light pink color: 1 SC in every stitch from previous round (72 SC), join first SC
with slip stitch, end the work.
Round 8: light blue color: 1 SC in next 10 stitches from previous round, 1 HDC in next stitch,
1 DC in next 5 stitches, 5 times 2 DC in one stitch, 1 DC in next 13 stitches, 5 times 2 DC in
one stitch, 1 DC in next 5 stitches, 1 HDC in next stitch, 1 SC in next 10 stitches, end the work
- you will have 65 stitches. There will left 17 stitches, you will not crochet to them.
Round 9: use beige color - 1 SC in next 10 stitches from previous round, 1 HDC in next stitch,
1 DC in next 43 stitches, 1 HDC in next stitch, 1 SC in next 10 stitches, end the work - you will
have 65 stitches. Note: insert hook in the very first stitch as you see on the picture below, to
have right number of stitches.
Round 10: use light blue color - 1 SC in next 10 stitches from previous round, 1 HDC in next
stitch, 1 DC in next 7 stitches, 2 DC in one stitch, 1 DC in next 2 stitches, 2 DC in one stitch, 1
DC in next 2 stitches, 2 DC in one stitch, 1 DC in next 15 stitches, 2 DC in one stitch, 1 DC in
next 2 stitches, 2 DC in one stitch, 1 DC in next 2 stitches, 2 DC in one stitch, 1 DC in next 7
stitches, 1 HDC in next stitch, 1 SC in next 10 stitches, end the work - you will have 71
stitches. 1 CH for turning the work, turn.
Round 11: 1 SC in every stitch from previous round (71 SC), end the work.
Make this part of the purse one more time. You will have two same pieces, which you placed
by the backsides to each other and crochet them together using SC (71 SC), end the work.
Neaten free threads.
Crocheting together – reverse view.
When you crocheted both parts together, then make upper edge. Use light pink color. Double
yarn, hook 3,5 mm and make:
Round 1: 1 SC in every stitch from previous round (50 SC). Join first SC with 1 SC.
Round 2: 1 CH, 1 SC every stitch from previous round (50 SC), end the work.
Sew pompoms ribbon to the seam of joining of both parts. Please sew carefully, straight and
make small stitches, to it will look beautiful :-)
Flap:
Double yarn, hook 3,5 mm
Beginning: work with beige color yarn – make 5 CH and join it with slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1: 3 CH (counts as 1st DC), 1 DC, 1 CH, [2DC,1 CH] repeat group in brackets 4 times
totally, join the top of 3 CH with 1 SlSt. You will have 5 groups of 2 DC with 1 CH spaces in
between.
Round 2: use light pink color yarn. Make 3 CH as a 1 st DC, in very first chain space make 1
DC, 1 CH, 2 DC, 2 CH – all in 1 CH space from previous round. Then crochet in every 1 CH
space from previous round [2 DC, 1 CH, 2 DC, 2 CH] - 4 times totally, join first DC with 1 SlSt,
end the work.
Round 3: use beige color: insert hook in beige circle from second round, as you see on the
picture below and crochet 5 CH. Then skip 2 stitches, make 1 SC in 1CH space from previous
round, skip 2 stitches, make 2 CH. (Insert hook in beige circle from second round again and
crochet 1 DC, skip 2 stitches, make 2 CH. Make 1 SC in 1 CH space from previous round, skip
2 stitches, make 2 CH). Repeat the group in brackets 4 times totally. Join first DC with 1 SlSt.
You will get 5 separated hearts.
Round 4: continue with beige color: make 3 CH as a 1st DC, 3 DC in first space from previous
round. In every other space from previous round make 4 DC (40 DC), join first DC with 1 SlSt,
end the work.
Round 5: use bright pink color yarn. You will crochet the basis of the hearts. Make 3 CH as a
1st DC, 1 DC + 1 CH + 2 DC all in one stitch. Then make 2 CH, [skip 3 stitches from previous
round and in fourth stitch make (2 DC + 1 CH + 2 DC), 2 CH] Repeat the group in brackets 9
times totally. Join first DC with 1 SlSt, end the work. You will get 10 basis of the hearts.
Round 6: use beige color yarn. Insert hook in beige stitch from round 4. Make 3 CH as a 1st
DC, 2 DC, (2 CH, skip 2 bright pink stitches from previous round, 1 SC in 1CH space from
previous round, 2 CH, insert hook in beige stitches from round 4 again and make 3 DC) Repeat
the group of stitches in brackets 9 times totally. Then make 2 CH, skip 2 bright pink stitches
from previous round, 1 SC in 1CH space from previous round, 2 CH, skip 2 bright pink stitches
from previous round. Join first DC with 1 SlSt. You will get 10 bright pink hearts.
Round 7: continue with beige color yarn. Make 3 CH as a 1st DC, 2 DC, (2 DC in 2CH space
from previous round, skip 1 stitch, 2 DC in 2CH space from previous round, 3 DC) – repeat
group in brackets 10 times totally, join first DC with 1 SlSt, end the work (70 stitches)
Round 8: use light blue color yarn: insert hook and make 4 CH, skip 3 stitches – you will get
button hole; 1 SC in next 2 stitches (1 SC in next 5 stitches, 2 sc in one stitch) – repeat the
group in brackets 11 times totally (78 SC). Join beginning of the round with 1 SlSt
Round 9: continue with light blue color: 1 CH, 1 HDC, 4 DC, 1 HDC, 1 SlSt – make all stitches
in the button hole. ( Skip one stitch and crochet 5 DC in one stitch, skip one stitch, 1 SlSt) –
repeat this group 19 times totally, end the work.
Pompom as a button
Use light pink color yarn, hook 3 mm.
Beginning:
crochet with hot pink color yarn, hook 3 mm. You will crochet continuously in spiral circle
rounds – it means that you will NOT join the rounds.
Round 1: 2 CH, 7 SC in second SC from hook (7 SC)
Round 2: 2 SC in one stitch in each stitch around (14 SC)
Round 3 – 4: 1 SC in every stitch from previous round (14 SC)
Round 5: crochet 2 SC together, 1 SC in next stitch - repeat 4 times together, crochet 2 SC
together (9 SC)
Fill the pompom with small amount of toy filling a sew all remaining together. Sew three beads
on the of the pompom. Neaten free threads and see the pompom on the front site of the
purse.
Sew the flap on the purse. You will use very small stitches, to the sewing will be invisible. You
will sew the flap in two lines. See pictures below.

Strap
I made easy strap. Use 3 threads of yarn and crochet CH stitches. Sew the strap inside the
purse thoroughly.
Finishing:
Embellished the purse with a beads
