Acceptable English language test

results
for Parent Resident visa
The following English language test results are acceptable for applicants under the Parent

Resident Visa category.

Test results must be no more than 2 years old at the time your application is lodged.

Test Minimum score required

4.0 or more in at least two of the four skills

(Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking)  
International English Language Testing
System (IELTS) - General or Academic Module Or

An overall score of 5.0 or more

At least two of the following skill scores:

— Listening: 2 or more
— Reading: 2 or more
Test of English as a Foreign Language — Writing: 11 or more
Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT)
— Speaking: 11 or more

Or

— An overall score of 35 or more

Test Minimum score required

29 or more in at least two of the four skills

(Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking)  
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE
Academic) Or

An overall score of 36 or more

142 or more in at least two of the four skills

Cambridge English B2 First (FCE)
(Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking)

or Or

B2 First for Schools (FCE for Schools) An overall score of 154 or more

Grade D or higher in at least two of the four

skills (Listening, Reading, Writing and
Speaking)
Occupational English Test (OET)
Or

Grade C or higher in all four skills (Listening,

Reading, Writing and Speaking)
