Introduction

The term habitat stands for ecology and includes many interrelated features, specially the
immediate physical environment, the urban environment or the social environment. So a habitat
centre is a place that brings individual institutions and organizations together to increase their
efficiency.

The HABITAT CENTRE was conceived to provide a physical environment which would serve as a
catalyst for a synergetic relationship between individuals and institution working in diverse habitat
related areas and therefore, maximise their total effectiveness. To facilitate this interaction, the
centre provides a range of facilities.

ABOUT THE SITE

 The proposed site is located in Sector-5, panchkula, Haryana.

 It has all the basic amenities such as a theatre, hotels, restaurants and cafes.

This sector also constitutes office but all these amenities are scattered and cannot be used for
one single function and convention.

AQUANARIUM & ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE at GIFT CITY

INTRODUCTION

It is a under water complex in which water dwellings and animals are kept and displayed
exhibition aquatic plants and animals It may or may not have a transparent site . it is typically
constructed of a glass or high strong acrylic material.

GIFT-City is planned as a financial Central Business District (CBD) between Ahmadabad and
Gandhinagar as a Greenfield development.

SAMRUDDHI SAROVAR is a master balancing reservoir in GIFT-city, Gujarat. An


Entertainment zone is proposed on its periphery. Urban Entertainment Centre can be defined as
family-oriented entertainment destinations. These centres combine shopping and recreation
areas. Retail needs entertainment to draw people in and entertainment needs retail to support
the overall operation. Entertainment centre has to be created as a centre with the right balance
of retail and entertainment.

JUSTIFICATION:

• The site is on ideal location with good connectivity and nicely located on bank of a river.

• The Entertainment zone boost the retail and entertainment industry.

• This project will help in local economy with lots of direct and indirect employment.

• Project is more interesting and challenging in term of architectural design

• With entertainment zone tourist industry and local market will boost.

• Providing showcasing a fusion of cultural and modern Gujarat to attract foreign and
domestic tourists.

• Provide a nightlife and entertainment hub with retail market.

will help in providing environment friendly indoor and outdoor spaces.

A. Introduction to the project


Hospitality is about serving to provide them will “feel good-effects”. “Athithi devo bhavha”
(Guest is god) has been one of the central tenants of Indian culture since time immortal. Today
hospitality sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in India. Now-a-days travel and tourism
industry is also included in hospitality sector boom in travel and tourism has led to further
development of hospitality industry.

Hotels will always be remembered for their architectural style. Everything a guest does from the
minute they arrive on the hotel grounds and step into the building is affected by the architecture.
This architecture is intended to provide for a guest’s need and comfort.

The basic definition of architecture is “the practice of building design and its resulting products.”
Architecture is the combining of art and science to create buildings and space for people. More
than this, architecture has a profound effect on society as a whole.
The majority of people spend most of their lives in the built environment we cal architecture. The
physiological effect of good or bad architecture can be significant and long lasting.
Convention centre is a building that is design to hold a convention where individuals and group
gather to remote and and share common interest.
Need and Importance

The Indian hospitality industry has emerged as one of the key industries driving growth of the
services sector in India. It has evolved into an industry that is sensitive to the needs and desires
of people. The fortunes of the hospitality industry have always been linked to the prospects of
the tourism industry and tourism is the foremost demand driver of the industry.

Bundi is a beautiful town and have importance in the History for Rajasthan. Bundi is surrounded
by the Aravalli hills on the three sides and is circumscribed by a massive wall with four
gateways. Interesting monuments including impressive medieval forts, palaces, havelis, temples
with beautiful stone idols and chattris with carved pillars, along with a picturesque lake in the
heart of the town, add to its charm. Bundi is very famous for its intricate carvings and murals.

A. History of Hotels
The history of hotels is intimately connected to that of civilizations. Or rather, it is a part of that
history. Facilities offering guests hospitality have been in evidence since early biblical times.
The Greeks developed thermal baths in villages designed for rest and recuperation. Later, the
Romans built mansions to provide accommodation for travelers on government business. The
Romans were the first to develop thermal baths in England, Switzerland and the Middle East.
Later still, caravanserais appeared, providing a resting place for caravans along Middle Eastern
routes. In the Middle Ages, monasteries and abbeys were the first establishments to offer
refuge to travelers on a regular basis. Religious orders built inns, hospices and hospitals to
cater for those on the move.
B. Aim and Objective

The aim of the thesis is to design a hospitality luxury building which will be first of its kind in that
particular region. It will design keeping in mind about heritage city of Rajasthan as well the
environment friendly.

Objective:

1. Wellness: Creating a Healthy Bottom Line


To ensure a safe, secure and healthy environment that promotes active and wellness
lifestyles to our guests, employees, local community and nature.
2. Responsible Air Quality Management
To maintain good indoor air quality (IAQ) in order to improve the health, productivity and
comfort of building occupants
3. Zero Waste Management
To improve and efficiently monitor waste through Zero Waste Management with
emphasis on up cycling and Re manufacturing
4. Responsible Sourcing and Procurement
To promote a responsible Sourcing and Procurement program with emphasis on Carbon
Positive, Fair Trade, Fair Wage and “localism”.

d. To make a building environment friendly (Green building optional).

E. Limitation
1. Financial aspect of project will not be consider.
2. As project of hotel deals with a client so some requirement which are framed by him
will be consider while designing.
3. Work mainly focuses on design functionality and services.
4. Thesis provided will and architectural solution and not for other aspects like
economics, management.
F. Site Selection
The site is in Bundi on Jaipur Kota National highway-12 which is just 36 km. from Kota
and 206km. from Jaipur.. Site area is approx. 9905.59sq.mt.

Advantage of site
Site exist on a heritage place which relate to history of Rajasthan
Site is on national highway as well connection road of Jaipur and Kota.
Bundi where the site is located is famous for tourist places, fairs, temples, forts etc.

Site is located in Jaipur near OTS. The hotel designed next to Rajasthan convention centre
which is under construction under JDA.

Site area is approx.19656.91 sq. mt.

Affordable Group Housing

A. Introduction of project.
Group hosuing is basic need of growing population in cities. Affordable group housing on
O.T.S. road near rajasthan convension centre is used by the peaple working over their as
project was a proposal of jaipur development authority of Rajasthan.

B.. Need and importance


Affordable housing is housing deemed affordable to those with a median household
income as rated by country, State (province), region or municipality by a recognized
Housing Affordability Index.The National Affordable Housing Summit Group developed their
definition of affordable housing as housing that is, "...reasonably adequate in standard and
location for lower or middle income households and does not cost so much that a
household is unlikely to be able to meet other basic needs on a sustainable basis.
Affordable housing includes "social rented and intermediate housing, provided to specified
eligible households whose needs are not met by the market." Most of the literature on
affordable housing refers to a number of forms that exist along a continuum – from
emergency shelters, to transitional housing, to non-market rental (also known as social
or subsidized housing), to formal and informal rental, indigenous housing and ending with
affordable home ownership.

C.Aim and Objective

2. Housing close to jobs and transit.

4. Long term affordability and financial feasibility.

D.Design requirement
1. .Redefining relation between dwelling and open spaces.
2. Co-operation of all different areas of complex, dwellings, and open spaces, so as to
mildly co-exist and operate as a whole.
3. Smart use of plot, as a communal place with neighborhood activities.
