Mechanical Engineering

 Mr. Anand Krishnan, student of 4th year mechanical engineering participated


in India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2018 organized by Texas
Instruments and DST India and received appreciation for their work on
Artificial Intelligence.
 Mr. Anand Krishnan participated in Quest Ingenium 2018 competition and
the project was listed in top 100 of all projects received pan India.
 Students of 3rd year Mechanical Engineering fabricated Go kart vehicle and
participated in 6th GKDC competition held at Galgotias University and Buddh
International Circuit, Greater Noida during 22 nd to 28th February 2019.

1. Seminar on “State-of-the-art in Construction Techniques- 21/09/2018 Civil
Engineering.

The seminar covered new construction techniques available in India in different


application areas such as India’s 1st 1,65,000 cum Ethane storage tank, Bandra-
Worli sea link bridge, Surveys for Deepwater Oil & Gas Project, Laying of underwater
cables, Deepwater foundations & subsea structures

2. International Design Competition in CADD- First round

4thyear and 3rd year students participated in first round of competition in building
design drawing and show cased their design skills in Auto CADD.

3. Inauguration of Centre for Innovation and Research – Nov 2018

The Mission of this club is to create spark of innovation via research in the
students so that they foresee any existing problems that needs to be solved.The
Vision is to create a community which would contribute towards the
advancements in technology, upholding the fame of the institution and fulfilling
the requirements of society by studying the problems and creating feasible
solutions.

4. Seminar on “Advances in Numerical Techniques in Engineering –


25/10/2018By Dr J N Mandal, IIT Bombay (Civil)

The guest speaker explained the functions of geosynthetics material as


separator, filter, drainage, reinforcement and fluid barrier. The wide applications
of geosynthetics in various civil engineering sectors such as road construction,
embankments, retaining walls, tunnels etc were described.

GIS is a new discipline generating massive interest worldwide. During the last 3
decades, there has been a very rapid rate of theoretical, technological and
organizational development in the GIS field. It is interdisciplinary in nature.

6. Seminar on “Cyber Law an Overview-02/11/2018 (CSE)

The guest speaker explained the various aspect of Cyber Law in the field of
Technology. The virtual world of CYBERSPACE is Banking, Entertainment (PUBG),
Email, Filings,Electronic signatures, Knowledge sharing or accessing, Google. There
are three categories ofCYBER CRIMES such as Against Persons, Against Property,
Against the State

9. TECHNICIA 2K19 - 28-29 Jan 2019

Amity School of Engineering and Technology organized one of the most splendid
technical festival TECHNICIA 2K19 consisting of plethora of events. The function
was inaugurated on 28th of January 2019 by our honorable Chief Guest Dr. D. S.
Rao in presence of various dignitaries like Dr. Ravi Manuja, Registrar, AUM, Dr.
Shrikant Charhate, Director, ASET, Mr. Anjan Kumar Ghosh, CFO, AUM and Col.
(Retd.) Sudeep Mehta, Director Administration, AUM. The main attractions and
participation kicked off on 29th January morning wherein an amalgamation of various
interdisciplinary fields of engineering was planned throughout the day. In total 20
events were planned which attracted a footfall of approximately 800 students.
TECHNICIA 2K19 decorated the campus premises incorporating the constructional
waste and converting it in to master pieces for every event. The students utilized
innovative ways of portraying each and every event with expressive models.

10. Seminar on “Native Android Development Using Kotlin” held on 20th-21st


Feb 2019 by Aman A. Choudhary, ASET
The speaker dived in the field of Android Application development from scratch,
using technologies like android Studio & Kotlin. The workshop focused on hands
on practical approach for students to enter the field of application development.
The main objective was to motivate students to start developing which he
achieved by creating basic applications like Calculator, Tic Tac Toe and more.

11. 6th Go Kart Design Challenge/Galgotias University and Buddh International


Noida held from 22nd – 28th Feb 2019

Indian society of New Era Engineers (ISNEE), an associate member of The


Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India is an organization for students focusing
on their technical and managerial development. ISNEE along with S D Motors Pvt
Ltd organized 6th Go Kart Design Challenge 2019 (GKDC 2019). GKDC is a
contest formulated to enhance the approach of students practicing Engineering
and Diploma courses. This event is fundamentally all about designing and
fabricating a Go Kart at very low expenditure. Teams have to manufacture Go
Karts yielding optimum performance. The teams participating in this contest have
to go through two rounds, Pre-Final Round (PFR) and Final Round (FR). It will be
mandatory for all the teams to clear the PFR in order to advance to the FR.
Teams are required to manufacture their Go Karts without any direct/indirect
involvement of any kind of Professional help. This event is scheduled on
February 22nd – 28th 2019 in Galgotias University, Noida for Pre-Final Round and
Final Round in Buddh International Circuit.

12. Seminar on “Funding Proposal and Research Publications-11/03/2019By Dr


Shrineevas Londhe (Professor VIIT, Pune)”

The main aim of this seminar was to disseminate the information to the faculty and
researchers about the quality writing of research papers, selection of reputed
journals, Thesis writing and how to write funding proposal. Faculty across university
and researchers attended the seminar. Seminar was conducted on 11 th March 2019
from 2.30 to 4.30 PM.

13. Guest Lecture on Experimental Methods in Aerodynamics by Dr. Ganapati


Joshi is a professor at Department of Aerospace Engineering at Defense Institute
of Advanced Technology, Pune on 19th March 2019

Any engineering problem can be solved by using experimental techniques or


computational techniques. The experimental methods in aerodynamics involve
understanding of measurement devices and their limitations. The lecture was
organized to make the students aware of experimental techniques used in the
field of aerospace engineering.

14. Seminar on “Application of Engineering Geology in Civil Engineering” held


on 29/03/2019 Dr. Suman Rawat, Department of Civil Engineering VIMEET,
Mumbai University
In all types of heavy construction like building tower, dams, reservoirs, highways,
bridges, traffic and hydropower tunnel and retaining structure, knowledge of
geology is essential for civil engineers. The geological information about the site
of construction (or excavation) and about the natural materials of construction is
of paramount importance. This information is vital for planning realistic and
designing and economic excavation of one and all of such projects.

15. Seminar on “Plate Tectonics: An Unifying Theory held on 29/03/2019 Dr.


Prabha Joshi, Department of Civil EngineeringSOET,AIKTC, Mumbai University

Plate tectonics explains nearly all of Earth's major surface features and activities.
These include faults and earthquakes, volcanoes, mountains and folds, and even the
origin of the continents and ocean basins. The framework encompasses all other
explanations of large scale geological phenomena.With the knowledge of the plate
tectonics civil engineers will have an idea of sensitive belts all over the world and
they will have to take precautionary measures while building the structures
accordingly.

16. Guest Lecture on “Touchless and TouchScreen Technology and


Introduction to Big Data Analytics by Prof. Pramod Bide, Sardar Patel Institute
of Technology On 29th March 2019
The workshop began with the speaker introducing Big Data and Analytics as
individual terms and the correlation between them. Later the speaker also introduced
terms like Data Warehouses, Data Mining and their role in Big Data Analytics.The
need for Big Data in the present industry was discussed. Thelecture was focused on
introducing Big Data Analytics, its basic concepts and the tools used in the industry
for the same to the students.

17. Workshop on “Introduction to Python ProgrammingMr. Ayush D. Mall and Mr.


Siddhartha Dutta, Amity School of Engineering & Technology(ASET)On 15th
March, 2019 and 19th March 2019
The workshop began with the speaker introducing Python as a programming
language. The major advantages and uses of Python was discussed. The
workshop focused on a hands-on approach for students to get familiar with the
Python language. The main objective was toteach the students basic
programming concepts in Python and familiarize the students with packages like
Numpy and Matplotlib that are useful for Linear algebra and data visualization,
which would further motivate them into exploring different computer science
paradigms based on Python.

PCB Design Workshop

18. PCB Design Workshop, Department of Electronics and Communication have


organized one day workshop on “PCB DESIGN AND FABRICATION” on
07/04/2019 in collaboration with Web Techshika Pvt. Ltd. The workshop was
aimed to provide knowledge about Complete PCB Designing using Cad tools,
also to test electronics & electrical circuit in software environment. PCB design
software named Proteus have been used to make physical PCB. Almost 20
students from ECE and EEE have participated in the workshop.
