tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ pushtivardhanam ǀ


urvārukamiva bandhanān mrityormukshīya mā'mratāt ǁ

अनन्तं वासुक ं शेषं पद्मनाभं च म्बलं
शन्खपालं ध्रूतराष्ट्रं च तक्ष ं ाकलयं तथा
एताकन नव नामाकन नागानाम च महात्मनं
सायम ाले पठे न्नीत्यं प्रातक्काले कवशे षतः
तस्य कवषभयं नास्ति सववत्र कवजयी भवेत

Surya (Sun) Mantra


“Japaa Kusumasankasham Kasyapeyam Maha Dhyuthim
Thamorim Sarvapaapghnam Pranatosmi Divakaram”
I bow down to the sun who is red like the flower of Hibiscus, who is the son of Kasyapa,
who is the enemy of darkness, who destroys all sins and who has a splendid radiance.

Chandra (Moon) Mantra


“Dadhi Shankha tushaa-raabham Khseero Darnava Sambhavam
Namaami Shashinam Somam Shambhor Mukuta Bhooshanam”
I offer my salutation to Lord Soma who is white in color like snow, yogurt and icebergs,
who adorns the head of Lord Shiva and who rose from the Ksheasagar.

Mangal (Mars) Mantra


“Dharanee garbha sambhootam, Vidyut Kaanti Sama-prabham
Kumaram Shakti Hastam cha, Tham Mangalaam Pranamamyamaham”
I pray to Lord Mangal who shines like lightning, who is born of the Earth, who holds a
weapon named Shakti in his hand and who is called Swami Kumara.
Budha (Mercury) Mantra
“Priyangukalika Shyaamam, RoopenaaPratimam Budham
Soumyam Soumya Guno Petham Tam Budham Pranamamyamham”
I offer salutations to Budha who has an incomparable beauty, who is very wise, the one
who is the son of Soma and the one who possesses charming and noble characteristics.

Guru (Jupiter) Mantra


“Deva-naam cha Rishi Naam cha Gurum kaanchana sannibham,
Buddhi Bhootam Trilokesham Tam Namaami Brihaspatim”
I bow down to Lord Guru, the preceptor of all gods, rishis and saints, the one who is the
form of ultimate wisdom, the one who is the God of all the three worlds and the one who is
like gold.

Shukra (Venus) Mantra


“HimaKundha Mrina-laabham Daitya-naam Paramam Gurum
Sarva Shastra Pravaktaaram Bhargavam Pranamaamyamham”
I bow down to the son of Bhagu, the Shukra who is the spiritual master of asuras, the
greatest teacher of all the learning, the one who shines like snow and jasmine.

Shani (Saturn) Mantra


“Neelanjanasamaabhasam Ravi Putram Yamaagrajam
Chaaya Marthanda Sambhootam Tam Namaami Shanaiswaram”
I offer prayers to Lord Shani whose complexion is dark blue, the one who is the elder
brother of the God of Death (Yama), the one who is born of Chaya and the one who is the
son of the Sun.

Rahu Mantra
“Ardha Kaayam Mahaa Veeryam Chandra- Aditya Vimardanam
Simhika Garbha Sambhootam Tam Rahum Pranamaamyaham”
I offer salutations to Rahu, the one with a half-body, the one who has exceptional strength,
the one who is born of Simhika and the one who is the eclipse of the sun and the moon.

Ketu Mantra
“Palaasha Pushpa Sankaasham Tarakaa Graha Mastakam
Roudram Roudraa-tmakam Ghoram Tam Ketum Pranamaamyaham”
I pray to Ketu, whose appearance resembles that of flower Palaasha, who is the head of all
stars and planets. Lord Ketu is violet and fierce.
Angam hare pulaka bhooshanamasrayanthi, To the Hari who wears supreme
Bhringanga neva mukulabharanam happiness as Ornament,
thamalam, The Goddess Lakshmi is attracted,
Angikrithakhila vibhuthirapanga leela,
Like the black bees getting attracted,
Mangalyadasthu mama mangala devathaya.
To the unopened buds of black
Tamala[1] tree,
Let her who is the Goddess of all good
things,
Grant me a glance that will bring
prosperity.

Mugdha muhurvidhadhadathi vadhane Again and again return ,those


Murare, glances,Filled with hesitation and
Premathrapapranihithani gathagathani, love,Of her who is born to the ocean of
Mala dhrishotmadhukareeva maheth pale
milk,To the face of Murari[2],Like the
ya,
honey bees to the pretty blue lotus,And
Sa ne sriyam dhisathu sagarasambhavaya.
let those glances shower me with
wealth.

Ameelithaksha madhigamya mudha With half closed eyes stares she on


Mukundam Mukunda[3],
Anandakandamanimeshamananga Filled with happiness , shyness and the
thanthram, science of love,
Akekara stiththa kaninika pashma nethram, On the ecstasy filled face with closed
Bhoothyai bhavenmama eyes of her Lord,
bhjangasayananganaya. And let her , who is the wife of Him
who sleeps on the snake,
Shower me with wealth.
Bahwanthare madhujitha srithakausthube He who has won over Madhu[4],
ya, Wears the Kousthuba[5] as ornament,
Haravaleeva nari neela mayi vibhathi, And also the garland of glances, of blue
Kamapradha bhagavatho api kadaksha
Indraneela[6],
mala,
Kalyanamavahathu me kamalalayaya Filled with love to protect and grant
wishes to Him,
Of her who lives on the lotus,
And let those also fall on me,
And grant me all that is good..

Kalambudhaalithorasi kaida bhare, Like the streak of lightning in black


Dharaadhare sphurathi yaa thadinganeva, dark cloud,
Mathu samastha jagatham mahaneeya She is shining on the dark , broad chest,
murthy,
Of He who killed Kaidaba[7],
Badrani me dhisathu bhargava nandanaya
And let the eyes of the great mother of
all universe,
Who is the daughter of Sage
Bharghava[8],
Fallon me lightly and bring me
prosperity.

Praptham padam pradhamatha khalu yat The God of love could only reach ,
prabhavath, The killer of Madhu[9],
Mangalyabhaji madhu madhini Through the power of her kind glances,
manamathena,
Loaded with love and blessing
Mayyapadetha mathara meekshanardham,
Manthalasam cha makaralaya kanyakaya. And let that side glance ,
Which is auspicious and indolent,
Fall on me.

Viswamarendra padhavee bramadhana Capable of making one as king of


dhaksham, Devas in this world,
Ananda hethu radhikam madhu vishwoapi, Her side long glance of a moment,
Eshanna sheedhathu mayi
Made Indra[10] regain his kingdom,
kshanameekshanartham,
Indhivarodhara sahodharamidhiraya And is making Him who killed Madhu
[11] supremely happy.
And let her with her blue lotus eyes
glance me a little.

Ishta visishtamathayopi yaya dhayardhra, To her devotees and those who are
Dhrishtya thravishta papadam sulabham great,
labhanthe, Grants she a place in heaven which is
Hrishtim prahrushta kamlodhara difficult to attain,
deepthirishtam, Just by a glance of her compassion
Pushtim krishishta mama pushkravishtaraya filled eyes,
Let her sparkling eyes which are like the
fully opened lotus,
Fall on me and grant me all my desires.
Dhadyaddhayanupavanopi Please send your mercy which is like
dravinambhudaraam, wind,
Asminna kinchina vihanga sisou vishanne, And shower the rain of wealth on this
Dhushkaramagarmmapaneeya chiraya
parched land,,
dhooram,
Narayana pranayinee nayanambhuvaha. And quench the thirst of this little
chataka[12] bird,
And likewise ,drive away afar my load
of sins,
Oh, darling of Narayana[13],
By the glance from your cloud like dark
eyes.
Gheerdhevathethi garuda dwaja sundarithi, She is the goddess of Knowledge,
Sakambhareethi sasi shekara vallebhethi, She is the darling of Him who has
Srishti sthithi pralaya kelishu samsthitha ya, Garuda[14] as flag,
Thasyai namas thribhvanai ka guros
She is the power that causes of death at
tharunyai.
time of deluge,
And she is the wife of Him who has the
crescent,
And she does the creation , upkeep and
destruction at various times,
And my salutations to this lady who is
worshipped by all the three worlds.

Sruthyai namosthu shubha karma phala Salutations to you as Vedas[15] which


prasoothyai, give rise to good actions,
Rathyai namosthu ramaneeya gunarnavayai, Salutation to you as Rathi[16] for giving
Shakthyai namosthu satha pathra
the most beautiful qualities,
nikethanayai,
Pushtayi namosthu purushotthama Salutation to you as Shakthi[17] ,who
vallabhayai. lives in the hundred petalled lotus,
And salutations to you who is Goddess
of plenty,
And is the consort of Purushottama[18].

Namosthu naleekha nibhananai, Salutations to her who is as pretty.


Namosthu dhugdhogdhadhi janma As the lotus in full bloom,
bhoomayai, Salutations to her who is born from
Namosthu somamrutha sodharayai,
ocean of milk,
Namosthu narayana vallabhayai.
Salutations to the sister of nectar and
the moon,
Salutations to the consort of Narayana.

Namosthu hemambhuja peetikayai, Salutations to her who has the golden


Namosthu bhoo mandala nayikayai, lotus as seat,
Namosthu devathi dhaya prayai, Salutations to her who is the leader of
Namosthu Sarngayudha vallabhayai.
the universe,
Salutations to her who showers mercy
on devas,
And salutations to the consort of Him
who has the bow called Saranga.

Namosthu devyai bhrugu nandanayai, Salutations to her who is daughter of


Namosthu vishnorurasi sthithayai, Bhrigu[19],
Namosthu lakshmyai kamalalayai, Salutations to her lives on the holy chest
Namosthu dhamodhra vallabhayai.
of Vishnu,
Salutations to Goddess Lakshmi who
lives in a lotus,
And saluations to her who is the consort
of Damodhara[20].

Namosthu Kanthyai kamalekshanayai, Salutations to her who is light living in


Namosthu bhoothyai bhuvanaprasoothyai, Lotus flower,
Namosthu devadhibhir archithayai, Salutations to her who is the earth and
Namosthu nandhathmaja vallabhayai.
also mother of earth,
Salutations to her who is worshipped by
Devas,
And salutations to her who is the
consort of the son of Nanda[21].

Sampath karaani sakalendriya nandanani, Giver of wealth, giver of pleasures to all


Samrajya dhana vibhavani saroruhakshi, senses,
Twad vandanani dhuritha haranodhythani, Giver of the right to rule kingdoms,
Mamev matharanisam kalayanthu manye.
She who has lotus like eyes,
She to whom Salutations remove all
miseries fast,
And my mother to you are my
salutations.

Yath Kadaksha samupasana vidhi, He who worships your sidelong glances,


Sevakasya sakalartha sapadha, Is blessed by all known wealth and
Santhanodhi vachananga manasai, prosperity,
Twaam murari hridayeswareem bhaje
And so my salutations by word, thought
and deed,
To the queen of the heart of my Lord
Murari[22].

Sarasija nilaye saroja hasthe, She who sits on the Lotus,


Dhavalathamamsuka gandha maya shobhe, She who has lotus in her hands,
Bhagavathi hari vallabhe manogne, She who is dressed in dazzling white,
Tribhuvana bhoothikari praseeda mahye
She who shines in garlands and sandal
paste,
The Goddess who is the consort of Hari,
She who gladdens the mind,
And she who confers prosperity on the
three worlds,
Be pleased to show compassion to me.
Dhiggasthibhi kanaka kumbha mukha Those eight elephants from all the
vasrushta, diverse directions,
Sarvahini vimala charu jalaapluthangim, Pour from out from golden vessels,
Prathar namami jagathaam janani masesha,
The water from the Ganga[23] which
Lokadhinatha grahini mamrithabhi
puthreem. flows in heaven,
For your holy purifying bath,
And my salutations in the morn to you ,
Who is the mother of all worlds,
Who is the house wife of the Lord of
the worlds,
And who is the daughter of the ocean
which gave nectar[24].

Kamale Kamalaksha vallabhe twam, She who is the Lotus,


Karuna poora tharingithaira pangai, She who is the consort,
Avalokaya mamakinchananam, Of the Lord with Lotus like eyes,
Prathamam pathamakrithrimam dhyaya
She who has glances filled with mercy,
Please turn your glance on me,
Who is the poorest among the poor,
And first make me the vessel ,
To receive your pity and compassion.

Sthuvanthi ye sthuthibhirameeranwaham, He who recites these prayers daily,


Thrayeemayim thribhuvanamatharam On her who is personification of Vedas,
ramam, On her who is the mother of the three
Gunadhika guruthara bhagya bhagina,
worlds,
Bhavanthi the bhuvi budha bhavithasayo.
On her who is Goddess Rema[25],
Will be blessed without doubt,
With all good graceful qualities,
With all the great fortunes that one can
get,
And would live in the world,
With great recognition from even the
learned
