Service Instruction for MER-(S)VDR

1. Insert an Ethernet patch cable into a free port of the Ethernet switch

Swing down the unit, but be careful!

 2. Put the other side of this cable into the socket of your laptop
computer.

3. Compare the IP addresses of the VDR system with the settings of your laptop and
change them if it is necessary

The default VDR IP address is:

VDR: 192.168.95.205

4. To adapt your addresses do the following steps:

START Settings Network Connections Local Area

Connection Properties

• Select: Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

• Press button “Properties”

 • Enter a corresponding IP address, e.g.
192.168.95.222 (if you are using default
IP addresses) NOT the IP address,
otherwise there will be an IP conflict

• Press “okay” button

• Check whether a connection is

successful by enter the command „ping
<IP-address of VDR>“ at the command
prompt

5. Start the Alarm logger software with a double click on the icon.

6. Connect to the VDR

Press “Extras” ”
Connect to…"

After connecting to the VDR normally you can see something like the following screen.

7. Download VDR-Log by pressing the button “Get VDR-Log”

8. After confirm the question to save with “yes” the software will ask you the location for
saving like in the following window.
