Lesson 1: Entrepreneurship and the Entrepreneur
 An entrepreneurial society ensures economic growth
 Entrepreneurship is generally the creation of products and services by developing and using resources
to meet people’s needs
 An entrepreneur is an individual who is highly enterprising and has the ability to see and evaluate
business opportunities, gathers necessary resources, and takes advantage and evaluate appropriate
actions to ensure success of a business enterprise
 Entrepreneurs are creative and innovative people. They have the ability to see, analyze, and evaluate

Lesson 3: Different Types of Business Organizations


 Business pertains to an individual, a group of people, or an organization engaged in trading of goods
and services to customers in exchange for money or other items of an equivalent value.
 The three types of business operations are Service, Merchandising, and Manufacturing.
 The different types of business organizations are Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, Corporation,
Franchise, and Cooperative.

CHAPTER 2 ̶ INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY


Lesson 1: Computer: Practical Applications and Proper Usage
 A computer is an electronic device used to access, store, or work, on data or information and produce
desired outputs by using different programs or applications.
 Tables and charts are effective tools in presenting a well-organized information or data.
 A malware is any software used to gain access or damage a computer without the user’s knowledge.
 Examples of malwares are worms, Trojan horse, and computer virus.

Lesson 2: The Services of the Internet


 The internet is a network of interconnected computers.
 The following are the uses of the Internet: e-mail, information, discussion group, online transactions,
entertainment, online shopping, and many more.
 The World Wide Web is an interconnected network of electronic materials or data in the internet.
 A web browser is a software program that help users access and view information on the World Wide
Web.
 Google Chrome, Windows Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox are examples of web browsers.

Lesson 3: Electronic Mail


 E-mail is the shortcut for electronic mail. E-mails are electronically sent and received typed messages,
images, or other data files over communications network.
 E-mails are cheaper, faster, and easier to facilitate.

Lesson 4: Creating Knowledge Products


 Drawing tools, WordArt and photo editing tools in the Microsoft Office word can be used to create
brochures, pamphlets, or any printed materials to promote your business or products.
