A. FOCUS OF THE LESSON

The teacher will ask about the past lesson which is converting measurements the teacher will
ask what is the definition of measurement is? And introduce the new topic which is the ratio and
measurement.

B. GUIDED INSTRUCTION

Ratio is a comparison between two quantities. The ration of a quantity a to a non zero b mat be
expressed in two ways:

a:b or 𝑏

in the ratio a:b, the first term is a and the second term is b.

example 1. The ratio of the following

a. 38 = 2
b. 72 = 3

the ratio that compares two measurement with different unit is called rate.

Rate with denominator of 1 unit is called a unit rate.
