My Justification of the Grade and comments

I think I deserve...
I think I deserve an overall of level 5 in English this term because I do not think that I did as well
compared to last year. I say this because I wasn’t participating enough in class and my work was not
completed to my best efforts. Even though I am already trying hard to improve my grades, I still
believe that I could do much more.

I also believe that life is a learning experience and being able to recognize our strengths and
weaknesses can help us become better individuals in anything we choose to do. Which is why I will
also be justifying my strengths and weaknesses in English literature this term. One of my strengths in
English this term that I have recognized would have to be my ability to analyze articles and poems. I
tend to understand the poems/articles most of the time and I am able to use the internet effectively
whenever I do not understand something. Another strength that I consider useful would have to be my
ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and
prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me to organize and
accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. One of my weaknesses is my time
management. This is a weakness that I have had to struggle with since I usually get really tired after
school. It is hard for me to try to do homework right after school as I am incapable to work due to the
tiredness. I always feel that there is never enough time to accomplish my tasks whether it is household
chores or assignments for school. In summary, I deserve an overall of level 5 in English this term as
the results of assessments and my learning attitude justifies that.

Term 2 / 2nd Semester.

What are your goals for English Language and literature? Why?
My goals for the second semester is to achieve at least a level 6 in English literature. I am setting
goals for the second semester because I want to prepare myself well for the future when I am looking
for good universities or job opportunities. If I regularly set myself realistic expectations for the future,
I believe that my future would be very bright.

In order for myself to achieve a level 6 or above, I must be putting more efforts into lessons,
homework, and classwork. I could possibly do this by constantly answering questions during class
and to complete homework to my best efforts. I would also like to develop my study habits in the
second semester. Since my family is always busy at home, there is no one who could regularly remind
me to do stuff. Which is why I want to develop study habits so that I could handle my time-
management skills better. In addition, I would also like to improve my English usage in general. I will
achieve this by reading more books or to speak more English to friends and family. I believe that
achieving a level 6 or above is realistic because I’ve done that before so I do not see why I couldn’t do
it again this year. If I keep working hard and follow the goals I’ve set above, I’m pretty sure that my
goals would be attainable.
