Implementing a Custom Access URL for your Egnyte Server

IMPLEMENTING A CUSTOM ACCESS URL FOR YOUR EGNYTE SERVER

A one-time processing fee of $50 is required to enable the Custom Access URL, and this feature is only available for Business and
Enterprise plans. Contact your account manager for pricing details. Typical turn-around is up to two weeks. Access URL is only
activated when accessing the web interface and not to be used when mapping a drive.

1. Choose a name for your custom Access URL e.g. fileshare.acme.com instead of acme.egnyte.com. DO NOT enter a value for the
Access URL field in the Brand Settings section until the process is complete - the domain name entered here will be put to use
immediately.

2. Send the following information at https://helpdesk.egnyte.com/anonymous_requests/new. The information will be used to generate
the Certificate Signing Request (CSR).

Country Name (2 letter code): e.g. US

State or Province Name (Full Name): e.g. California

Locality Name (City): e.g. San Francisco

Organization Name (Company Name): e.g. Egnyte, Inc.

Current Server Name (The original URL): e.g. acme.egnyte.com

Custom Server Name (The custom URL): e.g. fileshare.acme.com

Please note that server name should be in the following format only: subdomain.domain.com

We do not allow server name like files.share.acme.com

Email Address: Notifications such as when certificates expire will be sent here.

3. Once we receive the information above, we will provide you the CSR file to purchase the SSL certificate from your authorized
certification company (e.g. Godaddy or Rapid SSL). The domain host provider will require the CSR file from Egnyte to generate the
SSL certificate. DO NOT purchase the certificate until you receive the CSR file from us.

4. Once you receive the CSR file, you may then purchase the SSL certificate from your authorized certification company. We certify
GoDaddy or RapidSSL. We cannot guarantee successful implementation from other certificate providers. Please note that we do not
accept wildcard certificates (e.g. “*.domain.com”).

Please use Apache as the server type when purchasing your SSL certificate. A CRT file(s) for the custom domain name will be provided
to you (e.g. fileshare.acme.com.crt).

5. Send the CRT and Intermediate CRT files to Egnyte which will then be applied to your server. Both CRT and Intermediate CRT
are needed to apply the certificate.

Implementing a Custom Access URL for your Egnyte Server

6. Egnyte will provide a unique URL for the custom domain name. Once the new URL address is received, you will need to update your
CNAME DNS or A Record for your custom domain name to point to the new URL address. For steps on updating your CNAME DNS
record, please check your domain host provider as steps can vary depending on the provider.

It can take 24-48 hours for your new domain name to fully propagate, after you make the CNAME DNS change.

7. Once your custom URL has been fully propagated with the Egnyte URL, you will see the Access URL reflected within the General
Branding page.
