OBJECTIVE

 This project has been undertaken to share my experiences


on Compensation Management as well as to enhance my
understanding of this fascinating subject by doing some
study & research.

 The project explains the meaning of Compensation


Management, different methods used to evaluate the
performance of employees, its effective implementation
and the benefits of the system.

 It also aims at understanding the problems associated


with performance appraisal and suggests measures to be
adopted to overcome these issues.

 Overall objective of the project is to understand the


effectiveness of performance appraisal system.

 Human resource management is now recognized as the single


most important key to a more productive and competitive
organization in an ever-increasing global environment.

 As a result, organization are giving more attention to the planning


and effective management of their human resources, as measured
in terms of recruitment and selection, training and development,
motivation and reward, retention strategies, and compensation and
benefit plan design.

Today’s business imperatives are not necessarily tomorrow’s!

There are different sources of collection data. This is the first


stage in statistics. Before deciding the source of to collect the
data one has to make a proper planning of investigation and
the purpose of inquiry.

Following are the various sources of collection of data.

Internal Data:

A large number of individual organizations &


government department generates the data as their regular
functions which is the internal information. They gather this
information for printing regular reports for their own purpose.
It may include information about sales, salary, wage, profit etc.
such data are always available in the books of organization
which are complied & sent to management for future planning.

External Data:
Information collected from outside agencies is called
external data, which can be obtained from primary source or
secondary source.

Primary Data:

Primary data are original & first hand information. The sources
of such information are the individuals & the incidents around
them generally. It may include;
 Direct personal interview
 Indirect personal interview
 Information from correspondents
 Mailed questionnaires
 Questionnaires to be field by the enumerators

Secondary Data:

The sources of information through documents


concerning individuals & institutions are known as secondary
data or documentary sauces. It may include;

 Semi- official publications
 Journals & magazines
 Newspapers
 Research institutions
 Professional trade bodies
 Articles, market review & reports
 Other documents like public speeches, radio,
television
Methodology used to gather the information for
Field Work Report.

Information gathered with the help of using primary data


source methodology. Information collected from Direct
Personal Interview, Information from correspondence as well
as Annual Report of the Company and website of the Company.
With the help of web site prepared one questionnaire in respect
of compensation and benefits as annexed below. To observe
and study the implementation of the compensation and
benefits the data which was used is only Primary data source.
