One thought would be the two journals that are listed.

You might think about looking at the author instructions and submitting it as a letter, which is
more likely to get published.

Dear Dr. Foster:

I hope you're doing well. I'm still working on my metacognitive analysis, but once I'm done, I'll
incorporate it into my paper. I'm also looking at medical journals where I can publish my paper,
so if you know of any, I'd really appreciate any advice.

Sincerely,
Navya Krishna

I hope you’re well. I am now starting the metacognitive analysis part of my research,
and I am collecting sources for the data. I have some, but I was hoping you could
review them and possibly refer me to some others. Thank you.

Navya,

This is really quite amazing. As I read it it¹s extraordinary coming from

a student in high school.

The comments are meant to be only suggestions rather than criticism.

I would suggest some reorganization to frame your paper. All of these

elements are in the paper but just need to moved around.

I would start with the Maternal mortality in the US and how it compares to
other countries. Including a table or figure might be helpful.

Then you can address the causes of maternal mortality in broad strokes:
Obstetrical, Cardiovascular, etc and why Cardiovascular is so important.

Then bring in the cardiac physiology of pregnancy - why the heart is

stressed during pregnancy, during labor and delivery and in the post
partum period. You will need to define these terms (perhaps use a
glossary)

Then define who is at greatest risk for cardiovascular mortality during

pregnancy:
1) Those with known pre-existing heart disease (congenital, rheumatic
etc)
2) Those at risk for CV complications without known heart disease
History of Hypertension, Diabetes, smoking, obesity
History of illicit drug use
Pre-existing heart disease (such as some congenital lesions or valve
disease) that was undiagnosed but become symptomatic
during pregnancy
for the first time.
3) Diseases that are unique to pregnancy especially peri-partum
cardiomyoathy

Finally, present solutions

1) What¹s been done in California and other countries
2) What physicians and other providers can do
3) What are systems problems (e.g.. Lack of universal access to health
care) that need to be addressed.
Again it¹s an amazing job!
