Comments:
Ms. Black communicates well with the students and following the expectations for the classroom and school. She maintains
a positive environment by strategically partnering students based on the academic, social and mental needs. Ms. Black
responds to students’ behavior based on the individual needs of the student.

2. Instruction - Instructional Time


Intern has materials, supplies, and equipment ready at the start of the lesson or activity.
Intern gets class started quickly.
Intern uses available time for learning and keeps students on task.
Comments:
Ms. Black uses her instructional time wisely by providing timers and monitoring students for responsive and direct feedback.

3. Instruction - Instructional Planning and Presentation


Intern establishes links with prior learning and experiences.
Intern arranges learning activities to support standards.
Intern appropriately uses a variety of teaching styles.
Comments:
Ms. Black plans learning and experiences prior to the instructional presentation by using a variety of teaching styles. Her
lessons are engaging and themed based, which the students love!

Intern ensures that all students have the opportunity to participate.
Comments:
Ms. Black includes a variety of questioning levels and allows students to participate by “cold calling” or pulling student
numbers. She provides immediate feedback as she monitors students’ progress.

Comments:
Ms. Black makes her expectations clear at the beginning, during and at the end of instruction. She uses Google Slides to
present information to communicate those needs. She provides extension activities for early finishers.

6. Evaluation/Assessment - Instructional Feedback


Intern provides feedback on the correctness or incorrectness of in-class work to encourage student growth.
Intern affirms correct oral responses appropriately and moves on.
Intern provides sustaining feedback after an incorrect response by probing, repeating the question, giving a clue,
or allowing more time.
Comments:
Ms. Black provides quick and immediate feedback to encourage student growth. She scaffolds and differentiates based on
Student needs, while still maintaining the learning outcomes that need to be met.
