Background of the Study

Social media are interactive computer mediated technologies that


facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career, interest,
and other forms of expression via virtual communities and network.
Social media can help millennial to get more ideas and information about
their study using a google search, the role of social media in this modern
world is to communicate to their family and friends.

It changes the way individuals and large organization communicate.


These changes are the focus of emerging fields of technology studies.
Social media are different from paper based media to traditional
electronic media such as television broadcasting in many ways including
quality, reach frequency, interactivity, usability, immediacy and
performance.

There has been a dramatic decrease in face to face interactions as more


and more social media platforms have been introduced with the threat of
cyberbullying and online sexual predators being more prevalent. Social
media may expose children to images of alcohol, tobacco, and sexual
behaviors. In regards to cyberbullying, it has been proven that individuals
who have no experience with cyberbullying often have a better well-
being than individuals who have been bullied online.

Statement of the Problem

General:
Millennial nowadays are losing time for their family because they are
getting addicted to social media. It affects their everyday life and they
adapt those wrong doings that they see in social media. Many people are
getting affected by the cyberbullying.

Specific:
1.Why social media is not always good for us?
2.what is the reason why many millennial are addicted on social media?
3.how can social media affect our daily life?
4.what is the best way to control addiction on social media?

Objectives of the Study

General objectives:
The main objective of this study is to show people how social media
affects our lives as a millennial and how it changes us as a person, and to
make them realize that not all in social media can help you sometimes it
can destroy you.

Specific objectives:
 To define the roles of social media to millennial
 To distinguish the dominance of using technology
 To know the disadvantage of applications and mobile games that
millennial used

Hypothesis

A millennial who is continue using social media without a control on it

there is a high possibility that they will be addicted that is not good for

them because their studies will be affected. And also they might

experience cyberbullying if they are not using social media carefully.

Significance of the Study

To the researchers- they will benefit in this study because they can also
learn from this on how to carefully use the social media, and they will also gain
knowledge about their study.

To the students- they will also benefit in this study because they can relate
themselves into it, and if they will read our research paper they will realize
something that can change their lives.

To the future researcher- it can also help them because they can read our
study to be their source or reference when they also conduct their research, and
with that they can have idea on how to do a research.

Scope and Limitation

This study focus on millennial that should avoid addiction in social

media and control the use of social media. Our study is limited to the other

crimes that is happening in social media. We just need to conduct a research

to how to prevent addiction in social media so that we can help many people

specially students.
