EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 2018-18

Series of 2018.

AN ORDER STRICTLY IMPLEMENTING THE NO

LITTERING POLICY IN BARANGAY SAMARA, ARINGAY,
LA UNION.

WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the barangay to

effectively and efficiently implement the Solid Waste
Management System under Republic Act No. 9003 in its
territorial jurisdictions

WHEREAS, the National Government is committed to

implement RA 9003 provisions on the promotion of practice
of reduce, reuse, recycle and the protection of the
environment in the pursuit of sustainable development;

WHEREAS, Section 17 of the Local Government Code

also directs all local government units including the
barangays to provide an effective and efficient solid waste
collection and disposal system under the comprehensive
environmental management program;

WHEREAS, Section 21 of the Aringay Municipal

Ordinance No. 115 or otherwise known as the
Comprehensive Management Code of Aringay, La Union
specifically provides “No person whomsoever shall litter,
throw or scatter any waste such as cigar, cigarettes, butts,
plastics, boxes, candy wrappers, match sticks, diapers, food
packages, urine, used oil, chemicals, and other forms or
waste along public places except at the duly receptacles
prescribed in Sections 18, 19 and 20 hereof.”

WHEREAS, Section 25.2 of the Aringay Municipal

Ordinance No. 115 also provides penalty for violations of
littering;

NOW, THEREFORE, by the powers vested in me by

law, I, GIL B. GATCHALIAN, Punong Barangay, do hereby
order strict implementation of “No Littering Policy” in
Barangay Samara, Aringay, La Union.

EFFECTIVITY. This order shall take effect

immediately.

Done this 1st day of July, 2018 at Brgy. Samara,

Aringay, La Union.
