INTRODUCTION

Since the beginning of time, the medicine men (and women),

and the shaman have understood that the creation, the Uni-
verse was made of five different Elements.
In all traditions, we do find the presence and the use of Earth,
Water, Fire, Air and Ether. If in the western tradition, we
spoke more about 4 elements and not 5, it is known that the
Ether was part of the esoteric hidden vault of knowledge.
So, according to the ancient traditions, everything is made
of these 5 elements, in different proportion. The balance of
these 5 energies will guarantee health and harmony, and the
unbalanced state will bring dis-ease and discomfort.
Most of the traditional medicines work with the readjustment
and the rebalancing of the 5 elements. Chinese medicine
gives them other names (metal, wood, earth, fire and water),
and Ayurvedic Medicine from India is relying completely on
the deep understanding of the dynamics between them, as
well as alchemy, homeopathy, naturopathy, native indigenous
medicines and anthroposophy .
In this book, we will discover and get introduced to the

3
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

different perspectives of different schools and traditions about

the 5 elements.

The Five Elements

Why do we need to understand the dynamics of the 5

elements within us or round us?

We are the Children of the Universe, of Mother Earth. We are

spiritual beings having a physical experience in this realm that
we call reality on Earth.

4
INTRODUCTION

Our bodies are made of the 5 elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air
and Ether. But our other bodies as well. Our emotional body
also shelters these 5 elements. As our mental and more subtle
spiritual bodies.

Around us, in Nature or in the creations of Man, we do observe

these 5 elements as well. Our dynamic with our environment
is based on exchanges and interactions with all the elements
around us, and within us.
Therefore, the understanding of the qualities and effects of
these elements in our life is essential to find our right place
in the Community of Life. In the Global Tribe of Brothers and
Sisters, in harmony with Nature.

It is essential for us to become aware of the presence of these

elements and to be able to notice if any of them are unbalanced
or out of proportion.
When we feel off center, or when we feel a lack of Joy and
Enthusiasm in our lives, it means there is a distortion in the
dance f the 5 element within us.

We change the balance of this dance every moment, as we

interact with the environment around us. Every thought,
emotion, food or sensory input we bring to our awareness will
have an impact on this dance, and will change the balance of
the 5 elements. This dance is constantly evolving, in spirals and
cycles, like music does. It is not static. It is in resonance with
the dance of the Stars and with the Heart Beat of Pachamama.

Remember, in everybody or everything, all the elements are

blending together and coexisting next to each other and within

5
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

each other. But for the sake of this study, we will first discuss
each of them separately.

BASICS OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

PART 1. THE EARTH ELEMENT

The earth Element is solid, heavy, dark, and usually relates

to the tissues of the body, to the mineral kingdom, and to the
density of anything.
It brings grounding, and connection to the Mother Earth. It
resonates with stability and centeredness in its positive aspect.

7
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

It can relate as well to heaviness, dullness in its negative side.

In the human body, earth element can be found in the bones,
in the cartilage, in the nails, hair, teeth and tissues of the body.
It relates to the first chakra, located between your anus and
your scrotum/vagina.
In Alchemy, Earth is the receptacle of the other elements.
Where Fire, Water, Air can meet in form and density. It allows
them to be physically manifested within limitations of Space
and Time.

PART 2. WATER ELEMENT

Water is the fluid and flowing element. It is found every-

where, and mostly in liquid forms of life. Water is essential to
life as it is the giver of Life. No water, no vegetation, no food.
If a man can fast for many days, the lack of water can kill much

8
BASICS OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

faster.
Water has a flowing, wet and soft quality. It is about flexibil-
ity, adaptation, flow and emotions. It relates to the energies of
condensation, retention, concentration, and transformation
by accumulation.
In the human body, it is present in all the body fluids, like
blood, synovial fluid, urine, lymph, saliva, semen and so on.
It relates to the second chakra, at the level of the Hara.
Therefore it is also related to creativity as flowing energy, to
emotions, and to sexuality (bringing life during conception).

Part 3. FIRE ELEMENT

Fire is Purification and transformation. Fire is present

everywhere in the form of heat. The Sun light brings us fire.

9
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

The Fire is in our eyes to allow us to see, and to shine the light
of the Soul.
Fire element relates to the energy of dilatation, expansion
and repulsive transformation.
Fire is safety, warmth, comfort in its positive aspect. It can
burn and destroy in its negative aspect.
Fire is found in the human body in the blood (mixed with
water), in the digestive processes of transformation, in the
heating system of the body, and in the catabolism. The fire in
the human body is always blended with water element to avoid
the destruction of it.
Fire transforms things from one state to the other. Wood to
heat, smoke and ashes.. ice to water, life to death. It allows raw
food to be cooked and easier to digest. It repels wild animals
and was supposed to be a key of survival in the old days.
It relates to the third chakra, the solar plexus. It is about
Will Power, Ego and direction. The Clarity of the Fire gives us a
sense of direction. The Will and determination is a fire from
the mind.
In ayurveda, there is 3 main fires. The digestive fire
(jataragni), that digests the food, located in the stomach with
its acids and enzymes. The fire of the mind as determination,
mental understanding, intelligence (bhutagni) and the fire of
the soul (tejas).

Part 4. The AIR ELEMENT

10
BASICS OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

The Air is of course present all around us all the time as we

breathe it. But it is inside as well in our lungs, in our cavities.
The Air is light and evaporates easily. It travels fast like the
wind does. The Air relates to Sound as the sound travels through
the air.
In Ayurveda it relates to the nervous system. It is an element
that is easily disturbed and that can bring a lot of trouble in the
whole equilibrium of the body.
It relates as well to the mind as thoughts are really volatile
and quickly dissipating.
We need air to breathe and maintain our existence. Air carries
Oxygen and Nitrogen. Air helps us to clear our mind, to fly to
another state of mind.

11
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

It relates to the heart chakra as the lungs are connected to

it. The deeper we breathe the more we enjoy life. The more we
welcome what is and embrace it.
In its positive aspect air brings lightness, fast and quick
mental intelligence. In its negative side, it makes people
scattered, stressed and unfocused.
Air Element is the mediator between Fire and Water. It helps
balancing these 2 opposite elements. It allows them to relate
to each other.

1. THE ETHER ELEMENT

The Ether element is the most mysterious element. That’s why

it was kept only for the initiates in western traditions. Why
? because it is less easy to grasp it. Ether is Space. It is the
invisible presence between things. It is the energy that allows

12
BASICS OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

things to be separated, to relate to each other through space.

It is the element that generates distance. It is located between
the thoughts, between the electrons and the nucleus in an atom.
It is the most essential element if we had to choose one.
Ether in the human body is usually blending with air and allow
nervous and electric impulses to travel through the circuits of
the body. It is in our mind too, as thoughts and ideas.
It relates to the throat chakra, the chakra of expression
because we need distance and space to communicate. Com-
munication is transmission between one place and another
through space.
The ether element resonates with Spirit. It is not seen, it
is felt, perceived by Spirit. It hides in the silence, in the gap
between what seems to be.
In Alchemy, Ether or Akash in Sanskrit is the common
denominator of all the other elements. It transcends them
and all their limitations. It allows them to be, in Space and
Time.

The 5 elements in Ayurveda

The 5 Elements and the Doshas

17
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

In Ayurveda, the 5 elements are always combined, most of the

time 2 by 2. Their combinations give 3 humors called doshas.

Earth and Water combined together is KAPHA, the humor of

water. It creates the soft tissues of the body, the thick fluids
(mucus) and the bones, cartilage and tendons. It is heavy,
stable, slow, dull and wet.

Fire and Water blend together to create PITTA. The Humor of

Fire. Fire has to blend with water or it would burn the body in
its pure form. Pitta is hot, light, quick. It is found in the vision,
in the acid liquids of the stomach, in the digestive acids, and in
the skin complexion.

Air and Ether blend together to create VATA, which is the

wind humor. It rules all the movements of the body, like
nervous and electric movements, gas, and thoughts. It is dry
and cold and moves really fast. It is easily disturbed and can
create disturbances in all the other humors.

Ayurveda uses the 5 elements as the main foundation for

healing. Every herb, every thought, every action will have an
effect on the 5 elements. If it is something you put in your
mouth, like food or internal medicines, it will work through
tastes. You have 6 tastes in ayurveda relating to the 5 elements.

Every element can counteract another. For example too much

fire can be balanced with a lot of earth and water, like in the

18
THE 5 ELEMENTS IN AYURVEDA

real life ( to stop a fire, you toss soil or water on it to choke it

off). Too much wind (air and ether) can be balanced by water
and earth.

In Ayurveda, the elements relate to the 6 different tastes

that we can experience in our mouth. This is how this wisdom
creates a logical and rational bridge between elements and their
actions on the physical-emotional-mental and spiritual body.

The 6 tastes in Ayurveda

Sweet Taste (this taste decreases Vata and Pitta, increases

Kapha)
The sweet taste is made of water and earth, and is good for
balancing Pitta and Vata. Of the six tastes, sweet is known
to be the most grounding and nourishing. When eaten in

19
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

moderation, it promotes longevity, strength, and healthy

bodily fluids and tissues.
Its qualities are heavy, oily, and moist. It can create mucus
if not assimilated properly by the body or eaten in too big
quantity.
The sweet taste is prominent in foods such as wheat, rice,
dairy, cereals, dates, pumpkins, avocados, bananas, coconut…

Sour (this taste decreases Vata, increases Pitta and Kapha)

The sour taste is made of water and fire. It increases appetite
and saliva production, and is balancing in its light, heating, and
oily qualities. The sour taste awakens the thoughts and emo-
tions, and can improve appetite, digestion, and elimination.
Take care to eat it with moderation as it can be aggressive on
your body.
Examples of sour foods : lemon, vinegars, pickled and
fermented foods, tamarind, and wine.

Salty (this taste decreases Vata, increases Pitta and Kapha)

The salty taste consists of earth and fire. It has a grounding
and hydrating nature. Its hot quality may aggravate Pitta
and Kapha. It, stimulates digestion, helps electrolyte balance,
cleanses tissues, and increases absorption of minerals.. How-
ever, too much salt can have a negative impact on the blood,
the skin and cardiovascular system.
Examples of healthy salty foods are algae, sea salt, tamari,
shoyu, black olives, Himalayan salt, rock salt. The refined
iodized salt in processed food is not really recommended as
its fire is toxic for the body.

Pungent (this taste increases Vata and Pitta, decreases

20
THE 5 ELEMENTS IN AYURVEDA

Kapha)
The pungent taste is made of Fire and Air. Pungent food is
the hottest of all the tastes, and therefore stimulates digestion,
improves appetite, dries mucus, stimulates blood circulation,
and heightens the senses. Pungent taste may helps you think
more sharply.
Some examples of pungent foods: hot peppers, ginger,
onions, garlic, mustard, chilly, horseradish…

Bitter (this taste increases Vata, decreases Pitta and

Kapha)
Bitter taste consists of air and ether. It’s considered the
coolest and lightest of all the tastes. Because of its cool
qualities, it’s highly detoxifying and can help remove waste
products from the blood and lymphatic system. Bitter foods are
amazing for the liver and to cool down the mental restlessness.
Examples of bitter foods are raw green vegetables, turmeric,
and green tea, black tea, neem, endives, and most herbal teas.

Astringent (this taste increases Vata, decreases Pitta and

Kapha)
The astringent taste is made of air and earth. It's cool,
dry and firm. . Astringent is usually not acknowledged by
people. It is the sensation of dryness on the tongue when eating
pineapple or pomegranate for ex. It strengthens the mind and
the boundaries of the body. It makes the gums more firm and
stops their bleeding.
Examples of astringent foods are unripe bananas, pineapple,
green grapes, pomegranates, cranberries, green beans, alfalfa
sprouts, and okra (lady finger).

21
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

In this way, we can see that the 5 elements are experienced

by our body through taste. Every time we eat something, the
different tastes have a different impact on our way to process
reality. The elements will change our body functions, our
emotions, the quality of our thoughts, and our mood.
Ayurveda even goes deeper, as the taste in the mouth changes
when the food is digested. For ex. a lemon, sour in the mouth
is a

The understanding of the elements and tastes can help us in

many situations.
For example, somebody dizzy has usually a lack of grounding.
So the sweet taste, made of earth and water will bring grounding
as earth is heavy.
Someone that is lazy or tired will benefit of spicy food,
because the fire will boost their energy level. Detox of the
body will be supported by bitter food.

One of my alchemist teacher would even understand the uses

of plants through the 5 elements and the appearance of the
plant. For example, a sharp narrow leaf plant with red flowers
and thorns (the rose for ex.) will increase fire, as red is fire,
as thorns is fire and as narrow sharp is fire. The roots of a
plant will bring more earth elements, the flowers more fire,
the leaves more air, the sap more water and so on.. So even in
front of an unknown plant, after making sure it is edible, he
could understand how it would affect the body by connecting
shapes and colors to the elements.

In the mood and behaviors as well, we can read the elements.

22
THE 5 ELEMENTS IN AYURVEDA

Mental problems and fears come from too much air and ether,
anger from too much fire, attachments and grief from too much
water and earth.

Test to know your elements through Ayurveda

The first column is VATA (Air and Ether), the second one is
PITTA (Fire and Water), the last column is KAPHA (Earth and
Water).

24
THE 5 ELEMENTS IN AYURVEDA

What food to eat to balance our elements ?

Ideally, a healthy person would eat meals that contain the 6

tastes, so that all the 5 elements can be fed and balanced every
day.
It means that in the course of a meal, different food with
different tastes will be present.

In case someone has an excess of one of the Dosha, or one of

the elements, you can bring the balance back by taking care of
the tastes present in your diet.

25
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

For instance, someone has too much fire, which shows as

acidity, heartburns, anger, irritability, headaches and so on..
For a period of time, this person can choose to eat less of
Fire Food, which are spicy food, oily, fried food, tomatoes.. and
focus more on Water food, which is dairy, bananas, rice, and
Air food which is dry fruits, raw food, lentils, beans.
After the body finds again its balance, it is recommended to
go back to a diverse-all-6-tastes diet every day.

Obviously the diet subject is really personal. What you should

eat or not is up to you. There are different visions about it. This
is a perspective coming from ancient vedic knowledge, that has
been proven efficient until today.

How to recognize unbalanced states in our elements ?

There are different symptoms that we can observe when our
doshas or elements are out of balance.
Excess of KAPHA ( which is excess of earth and water) :
Laziness, heaviness, apathy, depression, asthma, cold,
cholesterol, diabetes,e dema, tumors, obesity, allergies,
mucus…
Excess of PITTA (which means excess of fire and water) :
Diarrhea, fever, headaches, heartburn, hypertension, inflam-
mation, skin diseases…
Excess of VATA (which is excess of air and ether) :
Dryness, pain, joint pain, dizziness, depression, mental
problems, nervous disorders, stress..

The 5 ELEMENTS in CHINESE

MEDICINE

The 5 Chinese Elements

28
THE 5 ELEMENTS IN CHINESE MEDICINE

In Traditional Chinese medicine, there is as well 5 elements,

but they are different than in Ayurveda. They have different
names and their interaction is unique. Nevertheless for the
practitioner of both Ayurveda and TCM (Traditional Chinese
Medicine), there are many bridges of mutual understanding
although there are not that obvious.
For the Chinese, the Five Elements, or Five Phases, are
different aspects of the Life force energy, which is present
in everything and everywhere, the Chi. These are Wood, Fire,
Earth, Metal, and Water. In the Chinese language of the Five
Elements, health is a harmonious balance of all the elements.
Each one of us is a unique and characteristic blend of the
influences of all the elements.

Wood Chinese Element

Meridians: Liver/Gallbladder
People who have strong energy of the Wood element have
a clear vision and goals, and know how to bring them into
being. They excel at planning and decision making. They
can be forceful in disagreements and can strongly argue their
opinions. Their piercing, penetrating eyes are really attractive.
Nevertheless, you don’t want to make these people upset.

Wood Imbalance
In Chinese medicine, when the wood Element is weak, people
can be indecisive, without strong direction in life, and stuck.
They may be constrained emotionally, unable to express anger.
. They may have a tendency to be workaholics or have addictive

29
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

personalities, including the possibility of abusing drugs and

alcohol. They may have digestive problems like bloating, gas,
alternating constipation and diarrhea.

Common signs of Liver meridian stress include dry, brittle,

thickened nails and pain just below the ribs. Common illnesses
include migraines, eye problems, and sinus problems. The
Liver meridian circles the genitals, and rashes and discharges
are associated with its imbalance, as well as hernias. For
women, menstrual problems are common including PMS,
painful periods, and heavy bleeding. Uterine fibroids may be
related to imbalance of the Liver meridian as well. The Liver
and Gallbladder meridian pathways traverse the top and sides
of the head, the most common sites for migraine headaches.
The Qi of the Wood element flourishes in the spring when
plants are sprouting new growth; and the color of this element
is green.
Fire Chinese Element
Meridians: Heart, Small Intestines, Pericardium, Triple
Warmer
People with strong Fire energy are usually charismatic. They
are good at leading groups and managing teams. They are good
with talking and socializing.

Fire Imbalance
When the Fire Element is weak, a person may be too activated
and hyperactive. They may suffer from anxiety, restlessness,
and insomnia. They may stutter, talk too much and too rapidly,
or laugh nervously. They may be too excitable, easily stimulated
to excesses, or they may be emotionally cold and unfeeling.

30
THE 5 ELEMENTS IN CHINESE MEDICINE

Earth Chinese Element

Meridians: Stomach/Spleen
Someone with well developed Earth energy is a well grounded,
nurturing, compassionate person. Earth Element people like to
bring others together and make good mediators or peacemakers
and reliable friends. They often enjoy both preparing food and
eating. You may be attracted by their generous mouth and full,
sensuous lips.

Earth Imbalance
When people have weak Earth Element, they can be worri-
ers. They are confused and undecisive. They may overwork,
especially in studying or other intellectual work. They are
vulnerable to digestive problems and diarrhea. They may gain
weight easily and lose it with difficulty. Their bodies have a
tendency to make excessive mucus, and they may suffer from
a lack of clarity.
The Qi of the earth element flourishes in Indian Summer,
those golden moments of fullness before the waning of the
light. The earth color is yellow, like the sun, and the ripened
crops, and the root vegetables. Sitting meditation is said to
strengthen the earth element.
Metal Chinese Element
Meridians: Lungs/Large Intestines
A person with well balanced Metal energy is well organized,
self disciplined, and reliable. They like structure in their life.
They are most comfortable in situations when they know the
rules and can succeed by following them.
Metal Imbalance
A person with Metal Qi imbalance may experience a lot of
sadness. They may be overly critical. They may have trouble

31
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

letting go. When the Metal energy is weak, there can be

illnesses of the lungs – asthma, allergies, frequent colds.
The Metal energy peaks in the fall. In the cool, crisp, clean
air of autumn, metal people feel they can accomplish anything.
The color of Metal is white, and people strongly influenced by
the Metal Qi may have pale complexions.
Water Chinese Element
Meridians: Kidneys, Bladder
The Water energy is a strong generative force centered in the
lower belly. When the Kidney Water Energy is strong, a person
is fearless, determined, and can endure many hardships in
pursuit of their goals. Longevity and perseverance are also
considered to be associated with healthy Water Elemental
energy.
Water Imbalance
When the Kidney Qi is weak, there can be problems with water
metabolism, urination, fertility, or sexuality. This person could
be anxious, fearful, and withdrawn, and in more severe cases,
phobic.
Kidney Qi declines with aging. There may be diminished
hearing or ringing in the ears. The color of the Kidney is black,
like the night, or like black ice. When the Kidney Qi starts to
weaken, dark circles or pouches appear under the eyes.
The Kidney Qi rules in the winter, a time when living things
are contracted with cold. Like a seed deep in the cold ground,
Qi is dormant, waiting for the time to sprout.

THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

The 5 elements and the Chakras

34
THE 5 ELEMENTS AND THE CHAKRAS

In the vedic and yogic traditions, the human body has 7 major
vortexes of energy, that allow the intake and the expelling
of energies. They are called Chakras, which mean wheel in
Sanskrit.
There is a correspondence between some of the Chakras and
the Elements.
Starting from the root (the tailbone), to the throat, the
Elements are relating as :
1. Muladhara Chakra : Earth
2. Swadhistana Chakra : Water
3. Manipura Chakra : Fire
4. Anahata Chakra : Air
5. Vishudi Chakra : Ether

The root chakra (Muladhara) connects us to the Earth, to our

grounding, it is about foundation, action, stability, embodi-
ment and nourishing our body. Therefore it is logical that it
relates to Earth Element, which is solid and dense.
The second chakra (Swadhistana) relates to our sexual energy,
to our emotions, and to cocreation. It relates to Water which
rules Emotions. Cocreation is about flowing, and expanding
like Water does.
The third Chakra (Manipura) is about digestive Fire, direction,
Ego, and intuition. It relates to Fire, as the Solar Plexus.
Digestion is about Fire, and DIrection is about the Light of our
Inner Fire.
The fourth Chakra (Anahata) is the Heart center. It is
about love, compassion, acceptance, forgiving, and connecting

35
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

through the Heart. It relates to Air Element. Air is free, it is

expanding, light and allows to connect people with each other.
The Fifth Chakra (Vishhudi) is the Throat. It is about
communication, expression, and connecting to the Astral
dimension. It relates to Ether. Ether is cosmic space. It is
the distance that separates us from each other, and at the same
time it is what allow our expression to travel to others.
When you want to connect to any of the Elements, you
can access it through your chakras, by focusing on them, by
bringing your awareness to them and ask to tune with the
specific element.
1. It can be used as a correspondence, which we will describe
in Part 4.

Elements in Wicca

What is Wicca ?
Wicca is a modern Pagan religion with spiritual roots in the
old ways used to worship Mother Nature. The main beliefs are
about : reverence for both the Goddess and God; acceptance of
reincarnation and magick; ritual observance of astronomical
and agricultural phenomena; and the use of magical circles for
ritual purposes.
In Pagan magic, and in all the more ancient ways, the 5
elements were the foundation of the Universe. To bring more
harmony, to heal or tune with Nature, wiccan witches use the
element qualities to pray and invite beneficial changes.
Their understanding of the qualities and interaction of the
elements differs a bit from the eastern views but follows
common sense and observation of nature cycles.
In wicca rituals, the 5 elements will always be present through
a symbolic object or act. If the ceremony would be more specific
about one element, then it will be more present in the altar and
in the ritualistic actions.
The order they use is Fire, Water, Air, Earth and Spirit (the
name they give to the fifth Ether element).

37
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

The 5 Elements in Wicca Magic

1. FIRE ELEMENT
It is the first element, positive, masculine and extravert. For
the wiccan, the fire qualities are heat and expansion.
The positive aspect of Fire is constructive, creative and
productive. The negative aspect is destructive and disruptive.
On an altar it will be represented by a candle or an oil lamp. It
is the symbol of Life Force and Cosmic Light. It is an extension

38
ELEMENTS IN WICCA

from the Sun. It connects to immortality and rejuvenation and

as well to purification.
Positive qualities of Fire : Enthusiasm, love, resolution,
heartedness, courage, passion, determination, power, spon-
taneity, energy, initiative, pride, self-confidence, ambition,
generosity, independence, justice, straightforwardness, lead-
ership.
Negative qualities of Fire : Anger, jealousy, hate, revenge,
sexual passions, domination, excessive pride, exaggeration,
shyness, carelessness, aggressive behavior, arrogance, impa-
tience, ruthlessness.
The Fire element rules on Energy, faith, heat, flames, force,
passion, will power, blood, life, healing and destruction, purifi-
cation, Sun, deserts, volcanoes…

2. WATER ELEMENT
Water is the second element. It is negative, feminine and
introvert. Water is magnetic and is relating to the emotions.
The positive aspect is constructive, vitalizing, and nourish-
ing.
The negative aspect is dissolving, decomposing and ferment-
ing.
On the altar, we place a bowl of blessed water (Holy Water) to
represent this element. It brings purification and rejuvenation.
It is the element that brings and sustains life.
The positive qualities of water ; modesty, sobriety, quietness,
forgiveness, softness, love, compassion, dreams, humor, sensi-
tivity, emotivity, absorption, self control, calm, tact, memory.
The negative qualities of water are :indifference, lack of
sensitivity, condescendence, carelessness, shyness, inertia,
laziness, lack of grounding.

39
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

Water rules emotions, feelings, love, courage, flow, adapt-

ability, sorrow, ocean, tides, lakes, rivers, intuition, womb,
subconscious mind.

3. AIR ELEMENT
The air is the third element. It is positive, masculine and
extravert. For the wicca, the air is the element bridging Fire and
Water that are the main elements. It balances both qualities
and acts as a mediator.
It is a symbol of communication, spirituality, intelligence,
inspiration, freedom, agility, life and breath.
On the Altar, it is represented by incense or smudging herbs.
The positive qualities of water are : sociability, optimism,
dexterity, imagination, persuasion, friendship, knowledge,
rationality, intelligence, kindness, joy, independence, audacity,
skillfulness, music, humor, flexibility, subtleness, intuition,
art, benevolence, communication.
The negative qualities of Air are : frivolity, distraction, to
speak too much, exile, scorn, showing off, exaggeration, utopia,
scatterings…
Air rules Mind, mental activities, communication, knowledge,
abstract learning, high mountains, wind, breath, dreams,
psychic powers.

4. EARTH ELEMENT
The 4th element, Earth is produced by the interaction of the 3
others (Fire, Water, Air). It is negative, feminine and introvert.
It is the element that support the manifestation of the 3 other
elements in our material dimension. Earth is electromagnetic
and shelters the activity of the 3 other elements .
It is a symbol of fecundity, and regeneration.

40
ELEMENTS IN WICCA

On the Altar, Earth is represented by a bowl of soil or rock

salt.
The positive qualities of Earth are : endurance, self esteem,
perseverance, discipline, depth, temperance, punctuality, re-
sponsibility, strength, grounding, kindness, patience, caring,
concentration, observation, discernment.
The negative qualities of the Earth are : slow motion, laziness,
disloyalty, melancholy, worry, fanatism, resentment, selfish-
ness, pessimism, skepticism.
Earth Element rules stability, foundations, down on earth
behaviors, physical body, food, nature, material realm, money,
stones, mountains, crystals, metals.

5. SPIRIT ELEMENT (ETHER)

It is the ultimate Source of all the elements. In Spirit lays the
Equilibrium of all Creation.
It is the Supreme Love Energy from Source. It is Quintessence.
It is the symbol of transformation and connection. It is the
energy that connects all creation like a web of life. It is the
Source transmuting, refining all elements within us. It is a
symbol of Divine Joy and Bliss and Divine Union.
It doesn’t have a polarity in its energy. It is One in essence.
On an Altar, it can be represented with spider webs, crystals,
or web designs.
It rules the Center, transmutation, transformation and tran-
scendence. It is the Void and The Light. The Source of All that
Is. I Am consciousness.

The 5 elements & the 5 platonic solids

“Philosophy is written in this grand book, the universe, which stands

continually open to our gaze.
“But the book cannot be understood unless one first learns to
comprehend the language and read the letters in which it is composed.
“It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters
are triangles, circles and other geometric figures without which it is
humanly impossible to understand a single word of it; without these,
one wanders about in a dark labyrinth.”
Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642)

The interaction of the five elements is well described by the

five regular polyhedra known as the Platonic Solids. These
are the only three-dimensional shapes that are perfectly
symmetrical in every direction, with every internal angle
and side length the same. According to Plato, each solid
corresponds to a specific element:
The cube corresponds to earth; the icosahedron corresponds
to water; the tetrahedron corresponds to fire; the octahedron
corresponds to air; and the dodecahedron corresponds to ether.

42
THE 5 ELEMENTS & THE 5 PLATONIC SOLIDS

The Greeks about Platonic Solids

The Greeks taught that these five solids were the core pat-
terns of physical creation. Four of the solids were seen as the
archetypal patterns behind the four elements (earth, air, fire,
and water), while the fifth was held to be the pattern behind the
life force itself, the Greeks' ether. These shapes predominated
in the hundreds of carved prehistoric petrospheres found in
Scotland with over 75% representing one of the Platonic Solids.
They came from a time over a thousand years earlier than the
Greeks. These same shapes are now realised to be intimately
related to the arrangements of protons and neutrons in the
elements of the periodic table.
The theory of the 'Harmony of the Spheres' proposed by Plato
who died around 347BC follower of Pythagoras and who shared
his belief that the universe’s secrets lay maths and its numbers.,
in which he envisioned the five 'perfect' solids to be enclosed
within imaginary spheres, each placed within the other. He
proposed that the distances of the planets from the sun showed
similar ratios from each other as the spheres surrounding each
solids did. Modern science has indeed shown that planets have
unique 'vibrations', or 'sounds' supporting Plato's conjecture.

43
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

The platonic solids and the 5 elements

Observe these volumes and shapes.
The cube is the Earth, it is stable, dense, and heavy like the
Earth.
The tetrahedron is fire. It has really sharp edges and feels
corrosive. In Light language its nickname is the destroyer. You
can feel this when you observe this shape
The Icosahedron has 20 faces and is Water. It has a smooth
aspect as it is close to a sphere. It is gentle and brings expansion
like water does.
The octahedron is Air. It is 2 pyramids with their bases
connecting to each other. It bridges Heaven and Earth. It
connects like the air and the atmosphere Above and Below.
Ether is a dodecahedron. It has 12 pentagons. It opens 12
possibilities according to the 12 strands of DNA, the 12 zodiacal
signs, the 12 aspects of psyche. It connects all the aspects and
opens possibilities, like Spirit does.
In the work using correspondences, like we’ll see later in the
book, you can use the shapes to relate to the elements.
PLATO says that everything is made of the 5 elements, and
today we discover that every atom structure can be decomposed
in the 5 platonic solids. They are the foundation of our holo-
graphic reality. They are the mathematical and geometrical
aspect of the energies of the 5 elements.
Later Kepler also developed his theory about the Musical
Spheres of the Universe with this knowledge.
He believed that our universe is made of the 5 platonic solids
in a concentric way, with the Earth Cube around.
This shows us that in all the cultures and traditions, the 5
elements were part of the models used and discovered.

The Music and the Dance of 5

elements
The world is full of poetry. The air is living with its
spirit; and the waves dance to the music of its melodies,
and sparkle in its brightness.

James Gates Percival

8

The Music of the Elements

Everything is interconnected. As above, as below, as within, as

without. This ancient statement of Hermes Trismegistus, in
the Emerald Tablets apply as well to the 5 elements.
Each element resonates with a kind of harmony and rhythm.
Each element would be danced in a different way.

A healthy Body-Mind-Spirit is like an orchestra. Each

element must be tuned with each other in harmony. The song
od your being changes all the time, like music does. Sometimes
one Element is stronger, but there are all there, playing and
allowing each other to express their unique qualities.

It is essential to become aware of this dance or music, if you

want to be empowered and to manifest the Highest idea of who
you are.

Lets explore a bit more this connection.

To do this, let’s say you would like to create a playlist that

goes through a journey of the 5 elements.

49
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

And that we start with Earth, the first chakra.

We would choose something with a lot of percussions and
drums. Like African traditional music, or Bali percussions.
Something loud, with a fast rhythm, and a lot of vibrations.
This is the humming of the earth. It’s the heart beat of
Pachamama.
So, Earth is Percussions.

Then we would go to the water element. Water is flowing,

softly, it has a really emotional color. We would choose a music
with voices, groovy, like a river, with flutes and drums, or piano
played in a fluent way.
Water is Flute, Drums, piano.

For the Fire element, we want something passionate, fiery,

fast, hot, like rock n Roll or funk. Something with power.
For instance, We will rock you of Queens or power Rock. A
sexy voice like James Brown, saxophones, electric guitars, fast
drumming.
The Air element is more subtle, more etheric. We would
choose a music with Harp, Flutes, orgammon, bells… A kind
of panoramic music like in soundtracks of western movies for
example. It has to give the flying feeling.
Air is celestial music.

Ether is Spirit, it has to make us connect to our Spirit.

We would select a music which feels sacred, devotional,
shamanic..With jews harps, gongs, Hang drum, harmonium,
sitar or indian string instruments.
Ether is cosmic and uplifting.

50
THE MUSIC OF THE ELEMENTS

A nice practice to connect to the 5 elements is to build your

own playlist. Choose from the musics you like. Make it 5 to 10
mns per elements.
Then lie down and listen to the playlist. When you relax and
listen, connect to the element. Visualize, sense, perceive it.
Allow thoughts and emotions to come to your awareness. Don’t
control anything, simply connect.

Ask Spirit to balance, harmonize and teach you about each of

the 5 elements in your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual
bodies.

Feel, Observe what is new. This is the secret of any transmu-

tation. Notice what’s new. Any new sensation, image, thought,
sound, once acknowledged will tell your Consciousness that
something changed. When your intention is to harmonize, to
heal, to restore the Love and the Light, then you actualize a
new reality where things are different and more appropriate.

Maybe as you will listen few times to the playlist, you will feel
that there is an element that is weak or distorted in anyway,
let’s say unbalanced. You can then make specific practices
to reconnect and tune this elements within you. Some of the
practices that you can do are described in the next chapter.

51
9

The dance of 5 elements

In the same way than music, you can dance the 5 elements.

52
THE DANCE OF 5 ELEMENTS

It can be a free dance, spontaneous where you choose a playlist

built in the way mentioned before.
The idea is to allow movements of the body that resonate with
each element. The intention is to bring balance and harmony
in each element. Any excess will be released to the Earth and
the flow-movement of all Elements will be strengthened.

Before dancing, I invite you first to tune with the elements

and to listen to the Dance of nature around you. Listen to the
One. The first beat of the Nature dance. Nature sings in cycles
like music, it has a tempo. First take some time to spot and
identify the One of the 1-2-3-4 beat of Nature. If you perceive
another rhythm pattern (5, 7 9 or 11 beats for ex.), then tune
with it. You want to sync your One with the One of Nature. This
will allow a deep healing and connection between you and the
Cosmic Dance of the 5 elements.

Here we will describe some ways to dance the elements. Keep

in mind these are only ideas and guidelines. Whatever your
Spirit and Body is telling you, intuitively, trust it. Trust what
comes to your awareness. There is no protocol. It is about
listening, tuning in and allowing regenerative and Spontaneous
movement.

Earth dancing will use the feet to stample the floor, with
heavy steps where our feet bangs the ground of our Mother.
This is a grounding dance, like African dance. You could use
bells or rattle ankle bracelets to mark the steps with rhythm.

Water dance is more fluid and flowing. It involves long

movement of the whole body, torsions, and spins, with more

53
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

spacious movement and more movement around the space

where you dance.

Fire dance is more dynamic, using the breath to expel and

inhale forcefully the air out of the lungs. It will be faster pace
with more strong movements, and more intensity.

Air dance is more ethereal, with jumps and movements of

the arms to mimic wings. It is lighter than the Earth dance for
example and is intended to lift up our energy.

Ether dance is still, it is silent, it is the expansion of Infinity

within our inner space. It can be laying down in shavasana
on the floor, it can be a still standing pose or kneeling on the
ground opening and stretching our arms towards the sky. It is
the center of your Being, the Core of our essence.

In the 5 elements dance, you can use the directions as well. In

the shamanic traditions, you have a direct correlation between
the elements and the directions.
Earth is North. Water is West. Air is East. Fire is South and
Ether is the Center.
Inviting the spirits and angels from each direction as you
dance the 5 elements will increase the level of resonance and
correspondence with the Universal Elemental forces.

Remember that what matters is not the way you dance the
5 elements, it is the Intention behind it. Your focus needs to
be to harmonize and balance each element through movement.
Honor the Elements, offer gratitude to them, allow them to be,
Love them.

54
THE DANCE OF 5 ELEMENTS

Allow your body to move freely and spontaneously with the

global intention to tune with your own inner nature, and to
resonate with the Cosmic Dance of the Universe.

CORRESPONDENCES
As Above, As Below.
As within, As Without.

10

The 5 Elements and their

Correspondences

60
THE 5 ELEMENTS AND THEIR CORRESPONDENCES

Why do we use correspondences ?

We use correspondences to play and work with the elements.
There is an Universal Law of Correspondence that is called
the Law of Equalities.
Here is what Zabe Barnes and Starr Fuentes, some of my
teachers say about his law :
‘The Law of Equalities (or Analogy), otherwise known as the Prin-
ciple of Correspondence or Essential Divinity. “As above, so below;
as below, so above.” The major linking agent in the universe is the
energy of love-wisdom, and the purpose of analogy is to lead the mind
back toward the sense of oneness (enlightenment). The thoughts
and images we hold in our conscious and subconscious minds will
manifest their mirror likenesses in our external circumstances. Our
outer world is a mirror of our inner world. Earth is a school for
practicing these laws of mind control. There is a Correspondence
between the Laws and Phenomena of the various planes of Being
and Life. This principle enables the phenomenon of Discernment,
Intuition, Hunches, etc. and that which is called remote viewing
or out of body experience. Correspondence enables that which is
normally unknowable, to become known to the individual who learns
and knows how to use this principle. Some use it in a conscious and
deliberate manner while others may not even be aware that they
are using this principle. When used knowingly, it will enhance the
clarity of vision and enables the mind to penetrate the most secret of
secrets, and can shed light on many dark paradox. Correspondence
establishes the interconnectedness between all things in the universe
and keeps all things relative to each other.’

When you identify which element is weak or in excess, you

can bring balance by practicing a psycho magical act.

61
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

A psycho magical act is a ritual that you design with a specific

intention, using correspondences to resonate with a specific
element.
For ex, someone wants to balance their relationship with
Earth, a s they don’t feel grounded enough in life.
So first, they can select an appropriate time, with a moon
calendar telling them what planet is ruling at a specific time.
For example, they can choose a Saturn time, which can be a
Saturday as Saturn rules this day. (SATurday = SATurn).
They can burn a Earthy incense like Storax, and use green or
brown clothes.
They can choose a grounding gemstone relating to Earth
Element, like a brown jasper for ex.
They can choose as well a Earth Plant like Hysop.
All this material and choices will resonate with Earth on a
subconscious level.
Then, by stating firmly their intention, this person can design
their own ritual, in a way that fits them.
This person could go in a spot in Nature and take with him/her
some clay. Then, after focusing on their intention, they could
mix the clay with water and rub their body with it, to cover their
whole skin.
The Earth will interact with the body and the consciousness
of this person, following their intention.
We use correspondences to resonate with the Element, to
send a clear message to our Subconscious Mind in order to
create a change towards Harmony.

EARTH MAGIC

EARTH MAGIC
Earth magic works well for manifestation and to start new
projects.
One of the gift from Nature to help us manifest is the SEED.
Seeds are amazing creations. They are so small but contain
the whole holographic template of the plant or tree that will
grow from it.
A new project, a new cycle in Life is like planting a seed.
The way you do it, the intention you hold, the vision that
comes with it, is what matters for the appropriate manifesta-
tion of our wishes.
So here is a little psycho magical ritual that you can do to
connect to the Earth Element and its magic.
You will need a piece of nice paper, ideally the most natural
you can. The size doesn’st matter but a square shape will
resonate more with the Earth Element.
Then Choose a seed. It can be a vegetable seed, a flower seed
or a tree seed.
According to your intention, you can select a seed accord-
ingly. For ex, if you want to start learning a specific wisdom

65
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

teaching, you can choose an oak seed as it embodies wisdom

and knowledge.
If you start a new relationship, choose a flower seed and check
the meaning of your flower. A romantic relationship will like
red roses for example.
So, you select your seed and find it. The best is to harvest it
from nature of course, using your intuition to guide you.
Then you collect some egg shells. Eggs are the medicine of
birth, it is an animal seed. It contains the holographic template
for New Birth. So for a new project it is perfect.
After this, go to a place in nature that you like, and that is
full of life. Go to a forest or to your garden, ask Spirit to show
you, to guide you towards the spot that resonates with your
intention.
Sit in this spot, and remain few minutes in silence to connect
to it.
Ask permission to the deva or the nature spirit of this place
to honor it with your magic act. Wait and listen until you feel it
is appropriate.
Put the piece of paper on the ground, flat.
Then put the seed in your mouth. Of course, if you choose
a plant that is known to be poisonous, you don’t do this, you
simply hold the seed in your hand.
In your mouth (or hand), keep the seed 9 minutes. During
this time, state your intention. Repeat it like a mantra. Your
saliva will imprint your intention and your DNA in the seed.
For ex. ‘My new business is successful and grows fast and
smoothly from now on.’
Then after the 9 minutes, put it on the sheet of paper. Collect
some soil around you, with awareness and put it on the top of
the seed with the intention to nourish your wish, to feed it. Ask

66
EARTH MAGIC

Pachamama to give to the seed all what it needs for it to grow

strong until the completion of the cycle.
Then mix the egg shell in it. Honor the Animals Medicines
and ask them to come support the growth of your seed.
Fold the paper and make a little ball with it.
Then dig a small hole with your hands or with a tool of about
10 cms deep.
Put your ball of paper with the seed, the soil, the eggshell in
the hole.
Make a prayer.
“ I offer this seed to the Earth. May it feed the Universe with
Its Love and Service. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So be
it. So be it. So it is.”
Then cover the hole with more soil. You can water it a little
bit.
Then tell Thank you to the Earth, to the Deva of this place
and go.
If this place is in your garden, come everyday to water it a bit,
more symbolically than in quantity. But you can as well let it
go, and allow it to grow by itself.
It doesn’t matter if this seed will sprout or not. What matters
is the sacredness of your psycho magical act. The strength of
your intention.

67
12

WATER MAGIC

WATER MAGIC
This water magic will help you to sleep well..
Put spring water in a bowl of glass or wood. Ideally you want
to put three moonstones inside, but clear quartz can also work.
Add a pinch of rock salt with the intention to bring earth in
your night.
Add rosemary leaves, and valerian root with the intention of
relaxation and restful night.
You can add as well rose or jasmine flowers with the intention
of sweetness and love.
Put the bowl next to your bed on a table. Ask the Spirit of
water to bless your night >
“Please Spirit of water, spirit of the Moon, capture any energy
that I don’t need and allow me to sleep deeply to rejuvenate
and heal my body.”
Take few drops and sprinkle them to your pillow. Put a drop
on your third eye. And let the bowl sit all night long on your
side.
Ask your Spirit Guides to use the Magic of Water to protect
and bless your Night.

68
WATER MAGIC

The morning, remove the moonstones from the bowl, empty

the bowl and its content in the earth or in a river/lake.
If you do this every night, you have to do all the preparation
every day again. Don’t keep the same bowl and the same
content.

69
13

FIRE MAGIC

FIRE MAGIC
The magic of fire can be used either to get rid off something,
like an old pattern or addiction, a relationship, or to put an
intention and let go of the outcome.
Fire Magic to let go.
Get a beautiful bee wax candle, of the color of your choice. You
can make a correspondence between the color of the chakras
and the candle. For ex, I if you need clarity, choose yellow. If
you need action, choose red, or orange if it s more cocreation.
For healing and new growth intention, choose green, for good
communication, choose blue , for psychic abilities and wisdom
, choose purple, and for connection to spirit choose white o
golden.
Light the candle with the energy or the power of “NEW”.
Take a piece of paper and a pencil. Write down clearly what
you want to let go, by using your name , a present tense and a
positive mood.
For ex. John Smith lets go of his habit of smoking tobacco
easily, gently, quickly, now and after. Or John Smith is free
from smoking tobacco easily, gently, quickly from now on.

70
FIRE MAGIC

Go to a portal. It can be the threshold of a house, a window,

the toilet vortex, a wooden stove with an exit pipe, the sea or
the ocean, a power spot, or something that evokes for you an
opening to another universe.
Fold the paper and read it 3 times out loud with conviction.
Check how much you really want this intention to happen.
Check how realistic you feel it is. The more convinced you
are that you allow yourself to experience what is written, the
more the energy will support your intention.
Open a portal. Fell an opening between the worlds, at the
window seal, at the door, or whatever is the portal for you. For
this ask your Spirit to open this portal. Allow it. Feel, sense,
see it opening. Then with reverence and respect, burn your
piece of paper and repeat out loud : “I let go of this intention
and welcome the New now”.
Spread the ashes through the portal and ask the energy you
are letting go of to go through the portal back to Source, back
to the Divine Mother.
Close the portal with gratitude. Simply ask Spirit to close
completely the portal you created and opened. Seal it, feel the
energy you let go of is back to Source. It left you.
Now refill your energy field by visualizing yourself showering
below a rainbow waterfall for a minute. Ask Source to give you
what you need to replace the old pattern or energy. Ask source
to close all the gaps and cracks in your aura. Then ask source
to seal completely your aura.
Blow the candle with gratitude and joy.
If this was a reluctant pattern or a strong addiction, you are
invited to do this prayer everyday at the same time, for 28 days.
This will anchor deeply the change in your consciousness.

71
14

AIR MAGIC

AIR ELEMENT MAGIC : FEATHER MAGIC

In natural magic feathers are used in spells and ceremonies
to promote change. They are used as catalysts to help focus
concentration while carrying out spells and wishes.
Feathers are often used to focus concentration in spells.
Feathers are magically ruled by the element of air. This makes
them good communication helpers. But each feather also can
hold other special powers; depending on the bird it came from,
its color and place of discovery and other factors.
The knowledge what kind of feather is best used for what
kind of indent can only be found out for oneself by trial and
error. A pigeon feather is not as helpful for creating a defense
strategy than a feather taken from a bird of prey.
The general rule for future feather magicians is always to use
self found feathers rather than bought ones. A shop cannot
substitute a walk in nature, nor the joy when the wanted feather
is finally found.
To practice Air Magic, first get your hands on one or more
feathers, found in nature. Again, the choice of the feather
according to which bird it comes from will influence and color

72
AIR MAGIC

your intention.
Then clarify your intention. You have to be able to put in
clear words and in a positive way, using present tense, what
you want to achieve.
For ex. “ I find the solution to this problem (describe the
problem) easily now.”
Then stand holding your feather facing East. Repeat your
mantra or inetion mentally, then blow with respect and aware-
ness to the feather in your hand. You can wave the feather
towards the East with the intention to send your prayer and
intention to the Spirit of the East that rules Air Element.
Sense, perceive, see, feel that your intention is flowing with
the wind in the air towards the other side of the world.
Then turn towards South and do the same, mentally repeating
your mantra (your intention), blowing on the feather and
waving it.
Do the same for West and North directions.
Then do it towards the sky to send it to the Upper world.
Then to the Earth to send it to the Underworld.
Finally do it towards your own heart center, to send this
prayer to Spirit living within you.
The Feather helps you to focus and to spread your intention
in the mental realms honoring each direction.
Air magic is useful for mental clarity, finding solutions,
communication issues, or sending a message to someone (in
this case see/sense the person you are sending a message to
receiving the message through the Air, with the help of the
wind).
At the end, offer your gratitude to all 6 directions and to Spirit.

73

ETHER MAGIC

The magic of Ether is relating to Sound, as sound travels

through distance. So we can use our voice or musical instru-
ments sounds to work with this magic.
If you know how to overtone, this is the best. Overtoning is
using our voice to produce higher harmonics that can be heard.
It is created by a specific position of the tongue and constriction
of the throat, to create a resonant cage in the mouth. It requires
practice but everyone can achieve it at some level.
Another way is to use Tibetan singing bowls, or bells, or jews
harp.
Choose whatever is available or calling you.
The first step is to clarify your intention clearly. Use positive
affirmation, using present tense.
For ex. ‘I am free from all addictions now.” Or “I forgive this
person with love and compassion now”.
The idea of this magic is to send your intention with the
sound to the Ether, which will carry it to Spirit and through
dimensions.
So after clarifying your Intent, you can write it down to make
it more anchored in your reality. Don’t forget to put a period

74
ETHER MAGIC

(.) at the end of the intention to seal it.

Take the instrument or use your voice. You can sing your
intention slowly, with focus, feeling each word as they are
pronounced. Or you can repeat it gently while playing the
tibetan bowl for example.
Repeat verbally or mentally at least three times your inten-
tion, then you can resume it to one word.
Repeat this word like a mantra. And at the same time play
with your voice (it can be a simple UHHHH sound or a AHHHHH
sound) or with the instrument you chose.
The idea is to vibrate your intention with the sound. To feel
the sound is carrying it far away, in all dimensions.
Visualize, sense, perceive that the sound is pervading all
creation, that it carries your prayer and Intention to great Spirit,
to the stars.
Feel the expansion around you, feel the sound going to the
other side of the world. And keep on repeating your mantra.
For ex, if it is a healing intention, keep repeating the word
“healing”.
Keep on playing for few minutes. Then stop. Listen to
the silence around you. Feel your intention resonating in
the Ether, in the Space around you. Like a whisper…Feel all
creation imbued and infused with your intention. Listen to any
messages or insights coming to your awareness.
If you feel after few minutes of silence, start again singing or
playing your prayer. You can do it as many times as you want.
The 'Universal Law of of three' states that 3 times is enough to
inform all dimensions of Creation.
After each time, remain silent for a while and listen. Sense
the vibration of your Intention buzzing all around you. Feel it
travelling to the Stars, to the other side of the Planet. Feel that

75
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

the Universe is listening to you.

After this, you need to let go. Drop any expectations about
the outcome. Allow the Universe, Source and Spirit to react the
way it is supposed to be to your prayer. Give the result and the
outcome in the Hands of Spirit.
Offer gratitude. Feel Grateful. Be grateful.
And close the ceremony with 3 OM or whatever closing sound
you like.

MEDITATION WITH THE 5

ELEMENTS
16

MEDITATION AT SUNRISE OR
SUNSET WITH THE 5 ELEMENTS

Ideally, this meditation takes place during one of the 5 con-

junctions. Conjunctions are specific portals that are opening

79
THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

during the day to connect us to the Solar Logos and to the Divine
Source. They occur at 5 different solar moments of the day.
The first conjunction is Brahma Muhurt and is exactly 2h55
minutes before sunrise. The second is sunrise, the third solar
noon, the fourth is sunset and the fifth is solar midnight. Each
portal opens for 2 minutes and allows us to tune with the
Cosmic Clock of All That Is.
So, to choose sunrise or sunset will allow you to connect with
this portal. Of course, you can still do this meditation at other
times of the day, when it feels convenient to you.
Stand facing East if you are doing this at sunrise or West if
youa re doing it at sunset.
· First ground yourself by connecting your first chakra to the
Center of the Earth. Visualize a spiral of energy going down
from your tailbone to the earth, like he roots from a tree.
· Then connect to Source by visualizing a spiral going from
the top of your head to the Galactic Center or to the Infinite
Incorruptible Source.
· Breathe deeply during all the process. Deep breath helps to
inform your nervous system with the update and actualization
you are making. It helps to receive the new downloads.
· Stretch your arms in front of you and open your palms facing
upwards to the sky. If you are facing East (sunrise), you will
start with Air element, if you are facing West(sunset), you will
start with Water Element. We will assume from now that you
are facing East first.
· Ask Spirit to guide you and to tune to the Element. Open all
your senses, See, Feel, Smell, Listen, taste, Know the Element
(Air) around you. Sense and perceive the Wind, the breeze of the
air on your skin, become aware of your thoughts, of your mental
state. Ask Spirit to bring balance in the Air element within you.

MEDITATION AT SUNRISE OR SUNSET WITH THE 5 ELEMENTS

If you have too much of it, give it back to the Universe. If you
need more Air, you will feel it coming to you. You don’t have
to control it. Ask Spirit to do it for you. Allow your own body
intelligence to choose what you need. Allow this balancing to
take place for few minutes until you feel that it is set.
· Offer your gratitude to the Air element, for all its blessings
and medicine. Offer gratitude to the Angels and invisible
intelligences that rule this Element.
· Then turn towards the South. Stretch your arms again with
palms facing up. Sense around you the presence of Fire element.
Feel or sense the Heat of the Sun on your skin, feel your blood
running through your body, sense the Fire in the flowers and
trees around you. Use all your senses to perceive it. Ask Spirit
to tune with the Fire. Then ask Spirit to balance the Fire within
you. Again, if you have too much Fire, you will feel the Fire
leaving your body and if you don’t have enough Fire it will come
to you.
· Allow this process of balancing to take place for few minutes
until you feel it is over.
· Offer Gratitude to the Fire Element for its blessings and
medicines. Offer gratitude to the Angels and invisible intelli-
gences that rule this Element.
· Turn then towards West direction. Stretch your arms palms
facing up. Sense the presence of Water Element around you
and within you. Feel the water of your body resonating with
the water outside of you. Feel the water in the plants in the
air, and in the clouds. Sense the Flow of life flowing like water
around you. Ask Spirit to tune with Water Element and then
ask to balance the Water within you. If you don’t have enough
water, you will receive its energy, and if you have too much of
it, you will give it back.

THE MAGICAL DANCE OF THE 5 ELEMENTS

· Allow this process to take place for few minutes until you
feel it is balanced.
· Offer Gratitude to the Water Element for its blessings
and medicines. Offer gratitude to the Angels and invisible
intelligences that rule this Element.
· Then turn towards North Direction. Stretch your arms palms
facing up. Sense the presence of Earth Element around you and
within you. Feel the Earth below your body, the soil that makes
it. Feel the rocks and stones on the ground, feel the density of it,
the grounding quality of Earth. Ask Spirit to tune with the Earth
Element and to balance it. If you have too much Earth, you will
release some, and if you need more Earth you will breath it in.
Allow the process to take place for few minutes until it settles
down.
· Offer Gratitude to the Earth Element for its blessings
and medicines. Offer gratitude to the Angels and invisible
intelligences that rule this Element.
· The last position is to connect to the Center of your being,
to the Center of All that Is within You. So turn again towards
East but focus on the alignment within you between Earth and
Sky. Bring your awareness to your Heart Center. Feel, sense
the Ether element within you and around you. Feel the infinity
of Space that lies within everything, connect to the zero point
field of Infinite possibilities. Then Ask Spirit to tune with the
Ether Element and to balance it within you. If you have too
much of Ether (which is rare but it happens) you will release
the extra and if you need more Ether you will breathe it in.
· Allow this process to take place for few minutes until you
feel it is complete.
· Offer Gratitude to the Ether Element for its blessings
and medicines. Offer gratitude to the Angels and invisible

intelligences that rule this Element

· Now remain standing and open all your psychic senses, scan
your body, feel the dance of the 5 elements around you, within
you. Sense that you are in tune with the cosmic dance of Nature.
Sense that you are One with All that Is. Honor each of this
Element as they are all equally useful and in Service to your
Higher Self.
· Offer Gratitude to your Spirit for guiding you and to the
Universe, the Divine Nature for bringing more harmony in the
Dance of Life within you.
· Repeat “I honor the Nature within Me and Around Me. I
honor Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Ether within me and around
Me. I Honor the dance of Life that has always been and will
always be.
· I Am the Dance of the 5 Elements. I am Life. I am Love. I
am Light.”

CONCLUSION

The 5 elements are everywhere and are considered by all

traditions like the building stones of the reality of our Universe.
There are within and around us.
This overview from different cultures and philosophies is
important as your subconscious mind will receive all these
information as a download.
The next time you will reflect on one element or the next time
you will experience an excess of any of them, you will be more
aware of the dance of the Elements within you.
You can then use the meditations of this book to balance
them, or simply ask Spirit to harmonize them.
Any healing starts with awareness. So first you need to
become aware of the dance of Elements to be able to spot any
distortion or unbalance. Then you can transform it, by praying,
by doing the meditation at sunrise described at the end of the
book. Only then true and deep healing will unfold.
I really invite you to observe this dance in all the aspects of
your life. In your physical body of course, but in your emotional,
mental and spiritual bodies as well.
Find your own language to describe this dance, to tune with

it, and to harmonize it. Remember, the idea is to tune your own
dance with the Cosmic Dance of Creation. Like tuning your own
musical instrument to the Divine Orchestra of Life.

I am grateful to each of the 5 elements.

I Honor each of the 5 elements.
I love each of the 5 elements.
