Early years memories of Barack Obama Jr.
Culture in Indonesia.
His mother Stanley Ann Dunham was from Kansas and his father Barack Hussein Obama Senior.
His Grandfather called Stanley Armour Dunham and Madelyn Lee Payne has liberal ideas and a love of adventure. After
they got married in 1940, they dreamed of traveling the world but World War II has just begun and this complicates their
plans.
THE
In 1945 Stanley returned from Europe when the war ended and moved to California, then to Kansas and finally to Texas.
JOURNEY In Texas there was so much racism which was normal in USA at that time.
BEGINS
Stanley and Madeleyn believed that people’s characters were more important than the color of their skin.
Ann grew up with this idea and then after a bad memory that happened with a friend who was Afro-American the family
HISTORY OF decided to move to Seattle, Washington. Stanley worked in a furniture and Ann began high school.
HIS FAMILY Ann liked to learn, she loved to learn about other cultures and explore new ways of thinking. Ann was offered a place at
the University of Chicago at the age of only sixteen. But, she was too young to live for her own. Stanley’s company had
just opened a new furniture store. They lived in Honolulu, the state’s largest city so she studied at University of Hawaii
there she met Barack Hussein Obama, a student from Kenya.
He was born in 1936, he was the first Afro-American person who study at University of Hawaii. He was a clever and
ambitious boy. He studied economics .
Ann and Barack Sr. began dating. In Hawaii. Then in 1961 Ann and Barack Sr. got married. Barack Sr’s father was upset
and angry because his son was already married and got 2 children in Kenya.
At 18 years old Ann gave birth to a baby boy: Hussein Obama Jr. Barack. The couple had several problems so they finally
divorce and Barack Sr return to Kenya with his 2 childrens and wife.
