Cellphone reading apps: My reflections

Cellphone reading apps are all the rage these days, people would rather learn by using their
electronic devices than paying for lessons so I told to myself, I have to try reading apps. In the
twenty one century technology is available for most of the people, not everyone can afford a
computer, a cellphone or a tablet, but It is really common to see those devices in the cities, It
has made possible that companies like Google or Apple grow rapidly, because of this growing
news apps are being published in the apps stores, one of those apps is “English Reading
Comprehension”, this app is focused on improving reading comprehension for Non- Native
English Speakers and It would help you to practice for important english tests like TOEFL or
IELTS. In the other hand is “English Reading Test” this app is focused in preparing people for
widely respected test, like the first one, It will help you to improve your reading comprehension. I
am a person who doesn’t like this kind of tools because I have always preferred to stay in a
classroom and share with people while learning but I tried “English Reading Comprehension”
and “English Reading Test” because of the popularity of reading apps.

I would give my opinion about “English Reading Test”, first of all you must know the way how It
works, It’s really easy to understand and enjoyable, this app shows you different tests about
many topic so you would be able to practice your English skills in different situations, the app
will show you the different tests and we you finish reading you have to answer some questions
related to the topic, once you had answer you can practice using the flashcards that the app
gives to you. I would like to say that this is a really interesting app because you can practice
everyday and you are not going to spend lots of time because the exercises are not too long,
but this app could be name the “adapp” for the reason that there are many ads and this might
be annoying for most of the people. “ English Reading Comprehension” was the second app I
tried, at first view It has a better interface because this app shows you clearly the difficulty of
any test that is in there, this makes easier to choose what you want to practice, also there
sections where are questions of each important english test, I would say it was easier to use
than the first one, but It has the same problem the first one has, there are many announcements
so there are times It’s not possible to choose the answer.

To sum up I want to say that I’m really happy about reading apps, I did not expect that this world
was so developed, both of the apps are tried were really good but If have to decide which one is
the best I would say It is “English Reading Test”, both of them are really similar but this app
does not have the problem that “English Reading Comprehension” has when you want to
choose an answer and suddenly an ad appears and you are not able to close it.
