Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Science

I. Objectives

at the end of the lesson, the students are expected to;

a. Identify and describe living and non-living things


b. Give examples of living and non-living things
c. Compare living and non-living things

II. Subject Matter


“Living Things and Non-living Things”
a. Reference: Ladders to learning Series K1 (Science Second Edition)
b. Materials: Plant, buttons, paper clips, coins, plastic bottle
caps, bags, pictures of a person or a pet, glue, marker,
manila paper, bond paper, box, and chat

III. Procedure
A. Prayer
B. Days of the Week
C. Review
Let the students recall the past lesson
Let the students give some examples of sense of touch
D. Motivation
Group the class in to two. Give the students cut out pictures from
magazines and a chart that has two columns, they will identify the
pictures that can move and cannot move. The group that finishes the
work with the correct answer is the winner.
E. Presentation
Today we are going to find out the pictures that they did a while ago
Tell the definition of living things
Tell the definition of non-living things
Tell the differences of the living and non-living things
F. Discussion

Show the students a box. Let them guess what’s inside the box
Let the students get one object/picture from the box and give the
name of the object/picture
Let the students tell if it is living things or non-living things.
Let the students put the object/picture to the correct place.

Give example of Non-Living Things
Differentiate the differences of living things and non-living things

Answer the activities inside the book on pages 98-105
