I- OBJECTIVES
At the end of the 60-minute lesson, the students are expected to be able to:
- Describe blood flow and gas exchange within the heart, circulatory system, and
lungs;
- Explain the mechanism of how the respiratory and circulatory systems work
together
III – PROCEDURE
“Now, what comes to your mind when you “Those pictures show about respiration and
encounter those words or those pictures circulation ma’am”
shown to you?”
B. PRESENTATION
Class, why do we believe that life is Ma’am, Oxygen is necessary for life to exist.
possible only on planets where oxygen is
present?
C. DISCUSSION
Class without oxygen, the cells in the body
would not be able to release the energy in
food for power, and they would die within
minutes.
What do we remember about the Ma’am, when we inhale air, our respiratory system
respiration class? gets oxygen. When we exhale, carbon dioxide is
released.
Thank you for the answer. That was very
good.
Procedure:
1. Perform the activity with your group mates (7-8 Students participated and work with their group
persons). mates during the entire activity.
2. Assign and label different areas in the outdoor
setting as: lungs, left atrium, left ventricle, arteries,
capillary, veins, right ventricle, and right atrium.
3. Using the marking pen, write down the word
oxygen on as many paper strips as you can and
place them in the lung area. The capillary area
should have papers with carbon dioxide written on
them.
4. Use the chalk to mark and define the different
areas such as what is given in the diagram below.
Assign some members of your group to stand still
on the different marked areas.
Very good!
What is given off during the process? Carbon dioxide is given off Ma’am.
Thank you for the nice answer. Carbon dioxide leaves our body through lungs
Carbon dioxide is given off during this process. The when we exhale Ma’am.
blood delivers carbon dioxide into the right
portion of the heart, from which it is pumped to
the lungs.
