3.Company Structure

Presently the company VMZ ЕAD consists of the following autonomous plants and divisions:

3.1. Machining Plant

Specialized in the production of mechanical parts, metal and plastics treatment, application of chemical coatings. Equipped with up- to-date technological
equipment and sections with advanced CNC machines. The process equipment allows applying the following types of metal and plastics treatment:
- hot forging;
- cold plastic working;
- heat treatment;
- welding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals;
- electroplating;
- machining;
- varnish and painting treatment;
- press moulding and injection moulding of thermosetting and
thermoplastic plastics.

3.2. Assembly Plant

The assembly plant consists of shops for assembly of ready products and all types of fuzes to be fitted to the produced ammunition.
Pressing and screw filling of explosives, assembly and packing of ready products are carried out there.
Capacities are available for the repair of various types of ammunition and demilitarization of unfit ammunition.
The manufacturing capacities available make it possible to reach, as the need arises, a yearly output of a million pieces of the basic manufactured
products.

3.3. Open Proof Ground

The company has its own proof ground where all product qualification tests are carried out.
The proof ground is equipped with precision up-to-date instrumentation to record high-velocity processes.
Demonstration and practice firings and tests of armaments, military equipment and stores are conducted there.

3.4. Non-Standard and Tooling Equipment Plant

The plant is equipped with a large number of high-performance lathes, grinding machines, copying grinders, machining centers, etc. A flexible manufacturing
system for production of dies, punches and moulds has been introduced.
The plant produces non-standard cutting tools and measuring instruments and non-standard machines and facilities as well.

3.5. Technical offices and departments

The experts working in these departments are responsible for the design and technological guidance of the production, repair and demilitarization of the
products. They develop new products, introduce them into production and carry out upgrading of the existing ones. The experts study, experiment and
introduce new technologies and materials into production. They design tooling equipment, attachments, machines and facilities required to implement
company’s production and innovation activities.
These specialists are involved in the registering with the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and maintaining of the items representing a company’s
intellectual property. They maintain the Quality Management System as well. The experts collect data on projects funded by the European Union, which can
be realized at the company.
They organize and manage engineering projects, develop, approve, distribute and put into effect the normative & technical documentation at the company
level.
