Objective
Pandit Ventures Pvt Ltd recognizes and respects the need to provide a positive
work life balance to all its employees. With this intent, the organization provides
various types of leaves. The purpose of this policy document is to share guidelines on
annual leaves with all employees and regulate their leave and attendance as per the
framework as set out in this policy.
Eligibility
This covers all the employees under Pandit Ventures Pvt Ltd
Leave Year :
Calendar year (January to December) is followed for leave calculation
All types of leave (except maternity) are calculated on a pro rata basis.
Types of Leaves :
1. Casual Leave(CL)
The object of this leave is to enable an employee to attend some urgent or unforeseen
exigency.
• All the employees are entitled for a 7 (Seven) days of Casual leave for the
calendar year
• Leaves will be prorated based on the number of days worked in the year.
• Casual leave cannot be carried forward to the next year, all balance leaves at
the end of the calendar year will lapse.
• There will be no encashment to be done against casual leave at any point in
time during employment / separation from the organization.
2. Privileged leave(PL)
All eligible employees are entitled for 14 days of Privileged leaves in a calendar year.
Leaves will be prorated based on the number of days worked in the year.
These leaves are earned based on the number of days worked leaves are not credited
in advance (e.g.leaves earned in January month would be credited in February).
Process of availing privileged leave:
• This needs to be approved by the respective manager in HRMS
Carryforward of Privileged Leaves : An employee can carry forward only 14 PL to the
next calendar year.
Encashment
• Privileged Leaves : Any number of PL exceeding 14 at the end of the year will
be encashed in the current financial year. More than 14 PL will not be allowed
to be carried forward in the next calendar year.
• Casual Leaves: Casual leaves will not be allowed to carry forward or Enacshed
in the Calendar year.
3. Maternity leave
All female employees who are not covered under the ESI Act, 1948 and have
completed at least 90 days of service with the company preceding the date of expected
delivery are eligible for maternity leave.
The maximum period for which any employee is entitled to maternity benefit will be
twenty six(26) weeks of which not more than six weeks should precede the date of her
expected delivery.
Process of availing maternity leaves:
• The employee should inform about her pregnancy to HR department minimum
2 months in advance before proceeding on leave.
• The request should be supported by a medical certificate confirming the
pregnancy and expected date of child birth.
• Maternity leave may be combined with privileged leaves
• The weekly offs and holidays falling during this period will be part of the leaves
availed.
4. Weekly Offs
a. All the 1st & 3rd Saturday of every month will be observed as weekly off for Support
Staff
b. All the sundays of every month will be observed as weekly off.( This will not be
applicable for the call center,customer service and Outbound sales department)
5. Rules to apply and approve the leaves
a. An employee cannot avail more than 2 CL at a given point of time
b. Any leaves more than 2 days needs to preinformed to the reporting manager in
written
c. Approval for long leaves needs to be preinformed atleast 2 months in prior to the
date of leaves planned
d. Any medical leaves more than 2 days required relevant medical documents to be
submitted to the HR department for consideration
** Note – The company reserves the right to amend, modify and revise any or all
clauses of this process note depending upon market practices and exigencies of
business.
