1. Discuss fully the role of a teacher in the development of a learner.

Teachers who practice their profession – be it in different levels – play an important role in
building a child’s success. Teachers do more than facilitate everything that their learners do inside
the classroom or in their school. In this manner, it must be clear that teachers provide structure and
help their learners grow in their reading and writing skills, teach everything – that is, including every
subject, and help the learners understand themselves – that happens to be the most important to be
considered, especially in developing their learners and become what they aspire in their lives.

Somehow, it must also be clear that in the hands of teachers lay the foundation of learners
to understand what “school” actually is. Teachers use a variety of methods to help children grow
cognitively, as well as conceptually. A positive relationship between teachers and their learners make
an exponential difference in the success of the learners as they continue through elementary school
to college.

In addition to helping foster growth intellectually, it is just as important to help children grow
in their physical abilities and help them discover and nurture their interests so they can apply it their
everyday life.

Moreover, teachers are distinguished by their commitment to the achievement of their

learners. Commitment is an essential element of successful teaching especially in making a
difference in the life’s experiences of these learners. Teachers who are committed and are concerned
with the development of their learners, nevertheless, exert efforts as they profoundly struggle how to
keep learners learn. They cultivate the learners’ curiosity and interest in education.

As a role, showing commitment to every student that is learning can be an important factor
in motivating them. Committed teachers recognize and devote themselves unquestionable to fulfil
their responsibilities as teachers. The degree of loyalty of committed teachers have, toward their
profession is one of their distinguished characters. Teachers, who are engaged in their profession
and committed to students and their learning, play a crucial role in development of learners.

Thus, great teachers are those who make great changes in the lives of the learners. Their
beliefs and vigorous actions make us realize our inner values and bewitch us. Passion contributes
to teacher’s motivation and performance. Teachers have an effect on student achievement. There is
a strong correlation between passionate teaching and successful student learning. Commitment, a
sense of adherence, is a key factor that influences learning process of students.

2. Choose any of the following legal foundations of education. Analyze and evaluate certain
educational issues from legal and ethical perspective.

One of the legal foundations of education in the Philippines is The 1987 Constitutions –
Article XIV Sections 1-5 states that the “state shall protect and promote the right of all the citizens to
quality education at all levels and shall take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to
all.”

Sad to note, however, that despite the presence of this provision in the Constitution, may of
us still ignore; so instead, be near to them and become their bread.
