The Gratitude Jar

This simple exercise can have profound effects on your happiness and overall wellbeing. It requires few
ingredients: a jar, paper and pen or pencil and of course your attitude of gratitude.

Instructions:

1. Find a jar.

2. Decorate a jar. This is optional but highly recommended: create a label (something like "A Jar of Gratitude") and
glue it on the jar. Place few stickers. Paint it. Make it a bright and happy jar!

3. Every day write down what you are grateful for on a little pieces of paper and place it in the Gratitude Jar.

4. Pick yourself up. If you are ever feeling down, take a few notes out of the jar to remind yourself of what is good
in your life.

5. If you live with someone (family members, partner, children) have them contribute to the Gratitude Jar on a
daily basis as well.

6. For family - Few times a year, sit down with your family and play the game. Everyone takes out one gratitude
note from the jar, reads it out loud, participants discuss it for few minutes and then the next person pulls out the
Gratitude Note. Continue as long as you wish or until you pull out all the notes.
