AZUSA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY
AREA OF FOCUS
IN COLLABORATION WITH PRINCIPLE AND COMPUTER
TEACHER
• Through meeting with my principle several times, we have discussed how to incorporate
technology both into the classroom for student use but also for teachers to use with
each other for collaboration. Our school has a very low amount of technology use. We
discussed that we want to incorporate a relatively easy and useful tool that everybody
could use. I had suggested giving a Professional Development on Google Drive and
discussed with her how much I have enjoyed using it with my students and through my
education (Burbank Unified School District).

• We decided that this would be a good Professional Development because we could do this
at our school and it would be short and sweet for our staff. I have also offered myself
in any guidance for other teachers at my school if they are in need of troubleshooting.
I have been working hand and hand with the computer teacher at my school and he has
been a huge support/push for teachers to want to use Google Drive more. With his help,
I will be able to present this PD.
ISTE STANDARDS
WHAT STA N DA RDS WILL BE ME T WHE N USING GOOGLE DRIVE?

• Empowered Learner 1b: Students build networks and customize their

learning environments in ways that support the learning process.

• Digital Citizen 2b: Students engage in positive, safe, legal and ethical
behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or
when using networked devices.

• Global Collaborator 7b: students use collaborate technologies to work

with others, including peers, experts or community members to examine
issues and problems from multiple viewpoints.

• Creative Communicator 6c: Students communicate complex ideas clearly

and effectively by creating or using a variety of digital objects such as
visualizations, models or simulations (ISTE Standards for Students).

SPECIFIC GOALS TO FOCUS
IMPLEMENTING GOOGLE DRIVE

• Here are the specific goals we have set up for both our students
and teachers:

• Teacher Goals: 1. Teachers will be able to create a Google Document.

2. Teachers will be able to create a Google Survey and share it with
students. 3. Teachers will be able to use Google drive weekly in the
computer lab with an assignment linked to California State
Standards.

• Student Goals: 1. Students will be able to sign into Google account. 2.

Students will be able to complete a Google Survey. 3. Students will
be able to complete a Google assignment in the computer lab
independently.
TIMELINE OF IMPLEMENTATION
ACHIEVEMENT OF GOALS

Within five years: Our ultimate district goal is for very student, K - 12 years old
have a personal device.

Within one year: Along with having a personal device, students and teachers will
need to be able to use it for a specific purpose. Therefore, we want students
to use Google Drive on a weekly basis within the next school year.

Every year: For us to have grades 3-5 have their own cart, we count on our
Booster Club to help add a cart with 35 Chromebooks a year.
ACHIEVEMENT OF OUR GOALS
METHOD FOR MEASURING GOALS

• I will be holding a Professional Development at my school site. One in the

spring and one in the fall.

• Along with this Professional Development, I will be available on site for

questions and troubleshooting.

• I will be sending out surveys to see who is using it and who needs more
assistance.
