Job Description:
The job involved in inspections and supervision of
inspection activities of protective coating applications
on huge oil storage tanks, vessels, pipes and structural
steel. To ensure that all the painting/coating activities
are carried out in accordance with the project
specifications and meet the project requirements.
Inspection of internal & external coating on storage
tanks, vessels, pipes. Inspection of FBE powder
coatings, tape wrapping. Inspection of aesthetic and
protective coating application on civil structures i.e.
concrete floors, and walls and intumescent painting.

 Inspection & quality procedures.
 Preparation of painting/coating procedures,
Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s) & Checklists.
 Receiving inspections of the materials with
verification of the MTC, Purchase order and data
sheets.
 Witnessing and verification of the blasting &
painting materials are in accordance with the
manufactures recommendations and project
specification as per applicable code requirements.
 Monitoring of blasting & painting materials storage
conditions and shelf life.
 Monitoring of weather conditions that is ambient
temperature, substrate temperature, dew point and
relative humidity.
 Implementation and maintaining QCP & ITP
program and schedules throughout the project.
 Ensuring quality and specification parameters are
met all the time.
 Monitoring and inspection of blast cleaning
operation i.e. cleanliness of compressed air check
and pressure using needle gauge, physical
condition of all equipment and other ancillaries to
ensure safe work.
 Surface preparation of structural steel, tanks,
vessels and pipes (buried and above ground) for
corrosion protection and control.
 Inspection/testing of blast cleaned surfaces for
surface cleanliness and surface profile
measurement in accordance with the specification
requirement.
 Monitoring of painting activities to ensure proper
mixing during operation.
 Measurement of wet film thickness to ensure
achievement of desired DFT.
 Measurement of dry film thickness and visual
inspection for coating application visual defects of
the dried/cured coatings.
 Inspection of fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coating,
visco elastic coating (STOPAQ)
 Inspection of tape wrapping.
 Road Lines Markings.
 Holiday (Pinhole) testing as per requirements.
 Adhesion Testing.
 Inspection of insulations for hot and cold services.
