DESCRIPTION: When assembling a new VNA truck, installation of the main mast onto
the base frame requires a crane and is a mandatory requirement. Technicians cannot
use a forklift to hang the main mast. When selling a VNA this needs to be discussed at
the time of the site survey with Sales & Service to insure a crane can be obtained (such
as a Broderson IC200, a 20,000 pound capacity crane). If a crane cannot be obtained,
the installation will be delayed until one can be located and shipped in by the dealer. It
is best to begin the search for the crane before the truck is ordered.
Below explains the correlation between the wheel base, the mast and how it will
arrive.
Trucks with a wheelbase of 81.2, 86.5, and 94 inches will come with the main mast
removed and requires a crane to assemble. All B464 models come with the main mast
removed.
Trucks with a 76.5 inch wheelbase (B463) and the following masts also will come with
the main mast removed, requiring a crane to assemble. The mast total lift is from the
floor to the top of the fork with the attachment fully lowered. Overall Lowered Height is
measured from the floor to the top of the outer mast when the mast is fully lowered.
