Abstraction:

The Philippines is a haven for the development of entrepreneurs. As a developing


country, the resources for development are varied and numerous. We need only to focus on
areas where business opportunities are open to small and medium enterprises. In the age of
globalization, the small and medium enterprises should come in and explore the wide area of
business opportunities. Small and medium enterprises are the key to economic development as
they employ more people and use the resources of people’s talent and ingenuity.
This course will greatly help young students to think like an entrepreneur. It will enhance
students desire to be an employer rather than employees.

Benefits to Senior High School Students

1. Classify individual entrepreneurial interests.


2. Apply basic marketing acumen.
3. Determine legitimate sources of resources.
4. Analyze ownership structures.
5. Convert Threats into opportunities.
6. Adaptation of concepts and strategies for idea generation.
7. Evaluate feasibility of ideas.
8. Discovery of entrepreneurial innovators who also have the competence and edge to
start their own businesses.
9. Consider ethical and legal business practices.
10. Write a micro business plan.

Application:

These fifteen questions that a potential entrepreneur must ask himself or herself before
setting up a new business. A YES or a NO answer is highly recommended.
1. Am I Planner, dreamer or goal setter?
2. Do I offer product that people want to buy?
3. Do I have enough resources to start my business?
4. Will my business plan allow cash to flow as soon as possible?
5. Am I working around a tight budget for my expenses?
6. Do I have a good credit status?
7. Am I expecting too much from my revenues as a result of my hard work?
8. Am I ready to assess and measure everything in putting up a business?
9. Do I have strong people skills?
10. Do I enjoy making decision and being in charge?
11. Am I good at short range and long range planting?
12. Am I willing to take initiative when confronted with difficult situation?
13. Am I flexible and can adapt to changing circumstances?
14. Am I willing take calculated risk?
15. Am I ready to learn and accept the mistakes that I might encounter along the way.

Importance of Entrepreneurship in Education


1. Entrepreneurship is very important to our economy as key driver.
 It focuses on wealth and high majority of jobs are created by small business started
by entrepreneurially minded individuals.
2. Entrepreneurship education is an individual lifelong learning process.
 It started as early as elementary schools and progress through all levels of
education. Including adult education. Teacher will help in building appropriate
objectives, review learning activities and assess the large audience absorption
through feedback.
Application:
Cite a concrete example on how entrepreneurship influences your life as a student.

Evaluation:
Enumerate the usefulness of the course to your life as a student.

3. Entrepreneurship will energize school management.


 School in the area of entrepreneurship must be accessible, affordable and
accountable in producing successful students.

4. Entrepreneurship will transform learners to be innovators.


 Learners must be equipped with perseverance and determination of an
entrepreneurial mindset at the outset of their careers. They must be more engage
and take ownership of their own success.

It is to the benefit of every student and every community to establish an entrepreneurial


culture in every school and institution. Here are four reasons why it should begin now.

1. Entrepreneurship education benefits every student by giving them an alternate career


path at any time in their lives. Students should know how business makes money.

2. Entrepreneurship education also provides an idea for teaching academics subject making
those studies as requisite in real world. Every career and technical students with a skill to
sell in the market place should consider the difference between finding a job and making
their own job.

3. The consideration in terms of value in entrepreneurial opportunities maintains the


innovative and creative thinking skills that exist in the very early grades. There are many
grades and age appropriate activities that introduce entrepreneurship to young children.

4. Most of the students who transfer or migrate to other communities frequently want to
come back to some points in their lives. But alas they cannot find a good job opportunity
back home.
