time include Jakarta, Medan, Bandung, Surabaya and Denpasar. In this period of Dutch
colonization, tourism activities were conducted only by white people only.

The period of the Japanese Occupation Period. Tourism Indonesia this time can be said to be down

whites, are not enthusiastic and have the opportunity to travel in Indonesia due to the chaotic
situation. Facilities and infrastructure such as roads, bridges, buildings etc. many are damaged by
the war and attractions also become dormant. Meanwhile Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs also
affected the deteriorating economy in Indonesia.

Period After Indonesia Merdeka. At this time, Indonesian tourism was revived in order to improve
the country's economy. The Government fully supports tourism activities by establishing
organizations engaged in the tourism sector. Excitement to jump in the world of tourism is also
inseparable from the development of information technology that helps the dissemination of
information about tourism in Indonesia. The use of information technology or IT for tourism is
marked by the increasing number of hotels popping up complete with sophisticated support
facilities such as computers, internet and telephone accompanied by the management of
professional airlines to get cheap airline tickets thus increasing the number of tourist visits between

The main thing that makes Bali island famous for its tourism, certainly not because of beaches,
mountains and other natural charm. But the tourism of Bali is growing because of the value of
estitika, cultural arts based on Hinduism, and the nature of flexibility and tolerance of the Balinese.

contact with Europeans. When Cornelius Houtman wanted to leave the island of Bali, many of the
ship crews did not want to leave the island of Bali. They are very interested and fascinated by the
prosperity and art of Balinese culture. When the Dutch returned to Bali in the next few years, the
Dutch were no longer interested in Balinese art and culture. But the Dutch are more interested in
making a profit by exploiting the Balinese. With the situation of the kingdom at the time when it
was chaotic, the Dutch attacked the kingdoms were dug and as a result the Dutch could occupy the
island of Bali but after successfully occupied the Dutch side did not do the forced cultivation
system on the island of Bali, but promote the island of Bali to the international world . And this
became the beginning of the development of the island of Bali into a place of tourism.
The development of Bali tourism starts from the number of foreign artists who choose to settle in
the tourist area of Ubud to pursue their art. Artwork from foreign artists who live in Ubud, can
directly promote the island of Bali as an exotic place to visit. And the rapid development of Bali
tourism occurred in the 70s, when surfers found a lot of waves on the island of Bali is very good

In addition to white sand beaches and waves suitable for surfing, many of Bali's beautiful tropical
islands include mountains, hills, terraced rice fields, seafloor, and rivers all offer unique and
