NARRATIVE
REPORT
Student Teaching Program

Being a student teacher, we are assign and teach how to maintain discipline and

control that is organize and manages the class time well. To maintain a warm and friendly

atmosphere that is conducive to learning. And most importantly being a student teacher

you must explain your lesson in a clear and well-modulated voice, shows confident, and

shows the mastery of the subject matter. Teaching is difficult, you are going to have rough

days, and you are going to need help sometimes. Having confidence is crucial for a great

student teaching experience that we have. Students need to see that their teacher knows

what he or she is talking about. They need a teacher that demands respect. When I first

started as a student teacher, I was awkward and unsure of myself. I was not sure what my

cooperating teacher would think, and I worried about how my students would perceive a

teacher who did not look old enough to teach in the first place. As I fell into my groove

and gained more confidence as a teacher, I found that my students not only respected me

but felt more comfortable talking to me, too. Confidence meant I could be myself while

still demanding respect from my students and colleagues.

The student teaching experience allows you to put everything that you have learned

about education and your subject matter into action. You get to test the waters under the

supervision of an experienced teacher who can guide you along and help you become the

kind of teacher that you want to be. If you embrace the opportunity, you can learn a lot

from the experience

During in the student teaching experience, we have to spend a lot of time for

preparing each lesson plan. We have to work hard to research different ways to present

the information for each lesson. Moreover, looked for activities that our students would

enjoy, and made sure that all of the materials and other things that needed before class

started. Even then, there were always things that would go wrong technology would fail.

Students would complete activities quicker than planned. On the other hand, students

would require much more time and explanation than expected.

As such, In order to be realized that I needed to be prepared as much as possible,

but, more importantly, I needed to prepare to be flexible and know how to manage a class

that have a different type of students that I will have to encounter once I will be teach

them. You never know what is going to come up or what will catch the students’ attention.

In addition, when creating lessons, remember that you need to be prepare for changes.

Figure out alternative activities in order to help your day go as smoothly as possible and

allow your students to gain the most from the lessons.

As a future teacher, you must be sensitive to what is happening inside the classroom;

during discussion and activities, because you are not just there to give knowledge to the

students but you will also acting as their full time classroom teacher. It is important to have

a set of guidelines and rules that you are strict on from the beginning of the class. You have

to show to the students that you are serious when it comes to class.

The Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College (OLSHCO) is the only Catholic educational

institution located in a 1.5-hectare area within the compound of the Catholic Church at

Afan Salvador Street, Guimba Nueva Ecija. Rev. Fr. Andrew Corsten, MSC, and a Dutch

missionary, founded it. The Securities and Exchange Commission approved its Articles of

Incorporation in September 1947 with the following incorporations: Mr. Juan Faustino,

Mr. Francisco Narciso, Mr. Bienvenido Wilwayco, Fr. Felimon Cuyco and Rev. Fr.

Andrew Corsten, MSC. The Grade School Department gained government recognition on

August 24, 1948 while the High School Department was recognized on July 5, 1949. Due

to the need of inculcating Christian values to preschoolers, OLSHCO opened its

Kindergarten course in 1958. OLSHCO is a non-stock and non-profit corporation

administered by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) with the assistance of the

Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Holy Mother (SFIC). It offers a

complete pre-school, elementary, secondary, and tertiary education. OLSHCO is also an

active member of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP).

OLSHCO is remembered for its humble beginnings. It was first housed in a single five-

room building with sawali walling. It started to operate in June 1947 as OUR LADY OF

THE SACRED HEART ACADEMY (OLSHA) with 160 grade school pupils and 20 first

and second year students. In 1948, the Franciscan Sisters headed by Sister Lutgardis arrived

in Guimba, to assist the MSC Fathers in the administration of the school. The school
produced its first set of thirty three (33) high school graduates in 1949. The year 1950

paved the way for the opening of the College Department changing OLSHA to OLSHCO.

However, due to financial problems, the college department was closed in 1955 but

reapplied for the change of the institution’s name from OLSHA to OLSHCO again as

approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission last July, 2008 in preparation for

the opening and full operation of college department for 2008-2009.

Through the effort of the Barangay Official of Brgy. San Andres, Guimba, Nueva

Ecija in the year of 1994-1997 administered by the former Barangay Captain Meliton

Viloria, and with the help of former Governor Edno Joson, made way to the establishment

of San Andres High School. San Andres High School was then an Annex of Guimba

National High School, now known as Bartolome Sanggalang National High School. In

January 25, 2001, San Andres High School stood on its own and was no longer an annex

of the GNHS. It made way to the fast growth in number of students and facilities of the

school.

The prolific lot where San Andres High School stands was a donation of the late Mrs.

Virginia Asuncion-Rufino and Mr. Juanito Mariano.

In its first school year, 1997-1998, the prioneer educators were Mrs. Marivic

Burgos, Mr. Alex Calambacan, Ms. Luisa Dullas and Ms. Analyn Viloria spearheaded by

their OIC, Mr. Nolasco M. Salonga. As the population of students increased, new

teacherwere hired for the following school year. They were, Ms. Eden Dela Cruz, Ms.

Janette Pascual, Ms. Estrelita Quezon, and Mrs. Ma. Rhoda Tumacder, Mrs. Cristina

Umali, Mrs. Catherine Yambao, Ms. Morena Valeroso, Mr. Elmer Operario and Mrs.

Maura Cristal.
In 2016, San Andres High School opened Senior High School as a demand by the K-12

Curriculum. As of 2017, there were 419 students in the school.

First day and Orientation

(In Campus)

November 20, 2017 was my first meeting with my cooperating teacher in our

school, OLSHCO, Ms. Jergenie Red R. Espania. She was good in English in fact I really

admire her because she is good in pronunciation. When we were having our conversation,

about the schedule and all other things that I need know about my teaching she treated me

like a real teacher, she gave me the topic that I need to discuss for the third quarter. She

also gives me ideas on how can I present my lesson, during that day she already asked me

to observe her so that I will get idea on how to handle the grade 8 students and also given

me ideas on how can I formulate my rules inside the classroom. She was so approachable

that is why I am very much thankful to have her as my cooperating teacher.

After my first week of observing, the students were very welcoming despite having

to adjust to another teacher that will teach them to the following week, the students were

immediately interested in getting to know me. They say that the behavior of 8-Loyalty is

different to the other section because they are noisy, not paying attention on what the

teacher discuss in front of the class and so on. Nevertheless, they prove me wrong because

in my first week of observing, I saw in them the passion, and eagerness to learn.
December 11, 2017, is the day that I started teaching in 8-Loyalty, by the time that

I entered the class I introduced myself and saying that I will be the one who will teach them

in ESP. After that, I give the only rules that I state and that will be Respect, respect me as

their teacher as they give respect to Ma’am Jergenie, their adviser. Also, give respect for

the teacher, respect for the fellow students, respect who is talking in front, and lastly give

respect for themselves.

At first I feel nervous but I really tried my best not too, so that later on I feel the

confident in me, I managed the class time well and maintain the discipline and orderliness

in the classroom. The feedback from the cooperating teacher was positive at the end of the

first lesson. She stated that I handled the group very well, and maintained their interest. I

was able to recognize behaviors and deal with them adequately. Concerning the lesson, she

felt that it went very well. I had challenged some students who needed to be challenge.

My second teaching experience would not be easy unlike to my first teaching

experience that I have my self-confidence in me because in my second experience it really

made me nervous and sleepless. I was thinking what to do and how can I explain the lesson

properly, and what will I do so that my students will easily understand the lesson.

First day and Orientation

February 21, was the day that we practice teachers deployed in San Andres High
School together with our supervising instructress Ms. Eden Ratcho. Mrs. Evangeline, my
cooperating teacher, was the one who choose where we are going to assign to teach what
grade year level and section. Ma’am Evangeline, my cooperating teacher, was not just a
simple and humble teacher in the school, because of her look and presence but because
also of her seriousness and heart in teaching. The students are interested every time she
teaches because according to them they enjoyed the lesson. This inspiring feedback coming
from his/her students challenged me to improve my teaching skills and make my lesson
enjoyable. By using effective teaching-learning process using appropriate strategies.

February 26, 2018, is the day that I started teaching in San Andres in Gas 11 and

second day was grade 8 Luzon and Mindanao. I really pursued to finish my learning plan

particularly the development of the lesson one week before I start to teach them. By the

time that I entered the class, I introduced myself saying that I will be the one who will teach

them in ESP in grade 8 and religion in Gas 11. After that, I give the only rules that I state

and that will be Respect, respect me as their teacher as they give respect to Ma’am

Evangeline and to Ma’am Amy, their teacher. Also, give respect for the teacher, respect

for the fellow students, respect who is talking in front, and lastly give respect for

themselves.
I teach to them with a sense of community and belongingness in the classroom.

Respect them as my students and value their ideas and opinions so that they would feel

safe to express their feelings. And of course possess a good listening skills and take time

out of my way too busy schedule for anyone who needs me. Lastly be one who is not just

intelligence enough to share, but someone with such a very good personality to inspire,

teaching is more than just sharing, it’s all about inspiring for someone, Inspiring people

take the spotlight as people see your good deeds.

Mrs. Evangeline D. Mamaclay is a friendly, humble and jolly person. She was born

on December 27, 1974. She is currently live in Pacac, Guimba, Nueva Ecija. She was

graduated with honors in Elementary in Balangkare Elementary School at Balangkare,

Management with the 45 units. Her philosophy in life is “We cannot all do great things.

But we can do small things with great love” -Mother Teresa. For my 2 months of my

practice teaching here in San Andres, I learned a lot coming from my cooperating teacher.

Even though my schedule had conflict with my teaching. I would like to thank her for

helping me in doing my lesson plan. I also admire her, because of her dedication in

teaching. With her guidance and pieces of advice, all of these things help me to improve

myself, not only to graduate or to pass but also to make things possible and accomplished.
Working with the Cooperating Teacher

(In Campus)

To work with the cooperating teacher is a great privilege for a practice teacher like me.

By the time that we get to know each other and discover the characteristic that we had.

Working with Ma’am Jergenie Red R. Espania was great. She shared all the knowledge

about handling students, on how to deal with the different characteristics of each students,

on how to present the lesson and specially to develop self-confidence and believing to

yourself that you can teach students. Ma’am Red As my cooperating teacher she always

reminded me about the things that I need to improve to myself so that I will become an

effective teacher someday.

Ma’am Red taught me the importance of 4C is which are communication,

collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. She taught me that it is important that we

are in the 21st century; we are now global teachers.

For almost 2 months of my practice teaching here in OLSHCO, I learned a lot

coming from my cooperating teacher.

Working with Cooperating Teacher

(Off Campus)

Working with my cooperating Ma’am Evangeline D. Mamaclay is a great

privilege she taught me how to handle the students very well. She give me some teaching

technique and strategies that I can apply in teaching my students. Ma’am Evangeline as my

cooperating teacher she always reminded me about the things that I need to improve to

myself so that I will become an effective teacher someday. She shared me knowledge and

experiences that she encountered as being a teacher and I admire her in her 21 years of

service of teaching and handling a students. On my observation and experience to my

Cooperating Teacher, I could say that she brought out the best in me. She always giving

suggestion to improve my teaching skills like on how to easily motivate students, to present

the lesson well, how to establish and organized in the active learning groups, how to

maximized the time, how to make appealing, creative and resourceful visual aids in

teaching students, and always integrate values that they will used in their daily life. For my

2 months of my practice teaching here in San Andres, I learned a lot coming from my

cooperating teacher. Even though my schedule had conflict with my teaching. I would like

to thank her for helping me in doing my lesson plan. I also admire her, because of her

dedication in teaching. With her guidance and pieces of advice, all of these things help me

to improve myself, not only to graduate or to pass but also to make things possible and

accomplished.
Working with the Students

(In Campus)

Working with the students at first, I did not know what to do on how to be able to deal

with them but later on, I learned how to mingle to them. I just need to be friendly with

them to win their trust, respect and love. As their practice teacher, you must know and

understand your students so that you can easily cope and get them. Handing grade 8 loyalty

students was exiting and a little bit nervous because at their age and level they were really

keen observer so that you must be careful in everything that you wanted to say and most

specially because they will always rely on what have you showed to them.

In the short time that I am with them, I had many memories with my students that

I will never forget. They made me a real teacher; they showed me respect and

thoughtfulness. They made me feel like a family member. So, for Grade 8-Loyalty, I am

very thankful that I am handled a section that I treated me like a REAL TEACHER. I am

very glad, that we had a great time to build a harmoniously relationship together.
Working with the Students

(Off Campus)

Working with the students, at first I did not know what to do on how to be able to

deal with them but later on, I learned how to mingle to them. They say’s that every students

have their own personality, capabilities, learnings and so on and I must say that it is correct,

as based on my observation. Working with Grade-8 Luzon and Mindanao, and Gas 11 is a

great experienced that I can treasure in me. They prove me wrong that public student’s

behavior are different unlike in private school, because as becoming their teacher in 1

month time, they treated me like a real teacher, give respect and great me every time they

sees me around the corner of the school.

Working with the Community

(In Campus)

Working with the community was good and entertained; they were very friendly and

nice. As we started practice teaching, the community treated us like real teachers.

The OLSHCO community has a friendly environment. Starting from the students, the non-

teaching personnel, maintenance staff up to faculty members and administrators. They are

all possessing positive characteristics that I observed. There is a high degree of mutual

respect with one another. Working with them was good and entertained; they were very

friendly and nice. As we started practice teaching, the community treated us like real

teachers. They are always great us when they see us good morning and good afternoon,

and I really appreciate it even in a simple things

Working with the Community

(Off Campus)

To be able to create a good relationship with the community we need to show

respect with one another. Respect is a very important part of life. If a person is respected,

it makes them feel good and in return, they respects you.

Inside the community, I can say that I had a good relationship with the people

around me. Whenever I walked in the hallway of school when I see teachers,

administrators, and school staff. I always gave them a smile and greetings, just simple say

“good morning ma’am/sir” or “good afternoon ma’am/sir”. Saying little things to them or

a big smile, you are showing that you had a good relationship with them. One thing that I

experienced during my practice teaching. Even I am not handling only one, I am very glad

that they respected me even I’m not their teacher.

Working with Co-Students Teachers

(In Campus)

Human Beings are naturally social creatures- we crave friendship and positive

interactions, just as we do food and water. For all these years that my co-teachers and I

have been through, I can say that we had our relationships with each other. I cannot say

that it is a “perfect relationship” but we have also difficulties in our life. Our duties is more

enjoyable when we have good relationships with those around us.

We had different time for our practice teaching but we made sure that when one of

us needed our help we gave our time for him or her. Student teacher experience was very

hard and busy, for preparing lesson plans, checking of papers, recording scores and so on,

but despite of that working with my co students teacher was good that we still saw each

other and even though were busy still we seek time for bonding, sharing experiences and

helping one another.

Working with Co-Students Teachers

(Off Campus)

Working with co-student teacher that we had experienced made us one. My

co-student teachers inspired me too. We shared, helped, guide and assisted one another. I

learned that in anything you do, you could not accomplish it by yourself itself because there

are times that you needed a companion to finish the task you are doing. Even if there are

times that some of my fellow practice teacher argue in some little things, but in the end of

the day, they make way to solve the problem that they got into.

Working with them and the experiences that we share was very hard and busy,

even though were busy still we seek time for bonding, sharing experiences and helping one

another in the end of the day.

This was really a great memories that we had for a years. We treat each other

like a brother, sisters, and best friends; differ in status in life, attitudes, character,

religions, and beliefs but our relationships extended like a family – committed and being

love.
Initial Demonstration Teaching

(In Campus)

January 30, 2018 was my Initial Demonstration. When I first was planning my

initial demo topic, I was not sure what I should choose but thanks to my cooperating teacher

because she help me to choose and guide me in demonstration. My observers is Our Dean,

Rubelyn M. Esperon, together with my cooperating teacher, Ms. Jergenie Red Espania.

When they arrived in our room and gave a signal that I could start, I was nervous, but I

knew I had to give my best to make my initial demonstration teaching to be successful. We

started the class by an opening prayer led by my student and followed by a greeting. It was

followed then by a short review of our yesterday’s lesson. After having a review, I

presented a picture analysis; afterwards I ask them some questions regardless to what they

noticed in the picture, to introduce our new lesson, which is temptation. Nevertheless, I

feel the demo itself went well, the discussion, the activities that I gave, up to the very last

part of the lesson. I was not as nervous as I thought I should be. It made me feel better and

lighter because they made the flow of the discussion to go smoothly than I expected.
Final Demonstration Teaching

(Off Campus)

March 12, 2018

The day that every student teacher waited was the day of the final demonstration

teaching. Some said that day was the day of the final verdict. That was the day that every

student teacher felt mixed emotions. There were feeling of excitement and nervousness. I

woke up at exactly 4:30 in the morning. 30 minutes earlier than the usual time, I woke up.

While on my way to school, I was thinking that was the day, I would conduct teaching in

front of not only my class but also in front of the observers. Already arrived in the school

that very early in the morning. I was expecting that it was very early and my co-practice

teacher would come later than that time but I was wrong because they are also early than

the usual.

By the time that my cooperating teacher arrived and our building and room was

opened because she was the one who was holding the key, I immediately prepared the

materials that I would use in my final demonstration teaching. I started to prepare it because

I was the third one to be observe.

My cooperating teacher helped and assisted me in preparing for the final

demonstration. She was the one who was busy preparing the classroom while I was busy

preparing my instructional materials. My students were also helping me. They were

cleaning the room. They arranged the chairs and wiped the tables and cabinet. I was

thankful that they helped me. I was very happy that they supported me.

I observed that all of the cooperating teachers were busy assisting my co-

student teachers for their final demonstration teaching, like what my cooperating teacher

did. She was supportive regarding my final demonstration teaching. After I had finished

preparing my instructional materials, I arranged the folders containing the evaluation sheet

and copy of my lesson plan for the observers.

It was already 11:00 when our Dean went out of the classroom. I knew I would

be the next and it was the sign that I was the next to be observed and it was the moment I

started my final demonstration teaching. I felt my heart was beating so fast that it seemed

I would have heart attack and faint, because of the nervousness that slowly crept in me.

When they arrived in our room and gave a signal that I could start, I was nervous,

but I knew I had to give my best to make my final demonstration teaching to be successful.

To lessen the tense and to feel lighter I took a deep breath and made a sign of the cross. I
said to myself “You can do it, Just think that you and your students are only in this room,

Just ignore the observers, Fight”.

We started the class by an opening prayer led by my student and followed by a

greeting. It was followed then by a short review of our yesterday’s lesson. After having a

review, I presented a video presentation to introduce our new lesson, which was bullying

by then on they got interested and focuses to the video. After the video presentation, as I

ask them some questions regarding to the video. After that, we move on to the discussion

of the lesson. Every time I ask them if they understand the lesson they answer me in chorus

say’s nuggets, by then it meant that they understood the lesson. It made me feel better and

lighter because they made the flow of the discussion to go smoothly than I expected.

I believed that I did give all my best to succeed my final demonstration teaching.

Nevertheless, I also believed that these would not be a success if it were only me. I passed

these challenge because of the support my cooperating teacher. She helped me a lot in

improving myself. As well as, it went well because of the cooperation of my students. Most

of all because of the Almighty God!

Challenges Encountered

The challenges that I encountered both in, in and off campus is that first the

behavior management of the students. This is possibly one of the most significant

challenges I faced as a being a student teacher. I know that classes are made up of students

with differing interest, abilities, and knowledge for this reason; I faced the challenge of

meeting the variety of needs they are confronted with. I try to do this through the lessons I

prepared. Second, you need to know your subject thoroughly, you need to prepare well and

should be a master of your subject matter, because if you are not clear, the students are

never going to understand the lesson. You need to be ready to answer any question anytime.

The third one is that accepting that despite your effort, some students are still not going to

understand. You have to accept the fact that sometimes no matter how much you try,

despite all of your efforts, some students are still not going to understand it at ll. No matter

how many examples you give or how many case stories you narrate. Therefore, that go

back to the student a couple of days later and try again; see if that makes a different. Lastly,

accepting that some students are not interested in learning.

Insights learned

During my student teaching experience, I developed an understanding of the

importance of keeping an open line of communication among students, teachers as well as

the maintenance and staff of the school. My student teaching experience has been the best,

most informational and inspiring experience in that happened in me throughout the year.

Generally, I had a great time with my students, and I could not have asked for a better

report with my cooperating teacher. I felt supported from day one, and he gave me the

confidence I needed to keep progressing. Interacting with my students was fantastic, and I

was very surprised at how much my students taught me, from everything to relationships

to school practices.

More specifically, there were three parts of my student teaching experience that

stick out to me as the most important strengths for the semester: relationships, planning

and time management. Throughout the semester, I was able to create a great atmosphere in

my classrooms. I was a little worried about a few of my classes early on, but as I have to

know the students better and establish relationships with them, the problems mostly

vanished. Once I established those connections and relationships with students, it was easy

to tell that they bought into what I was teaching them considerably more. They started to

ask more questions, be more interested in the topics and generally have fun with learning

history. However, my relationships with students were not the only relationships that went
well this semester. I would also say that my relationships with the staff here at OLSHCO

and San Andres High School went very well. I sustained a great working relationship with

my cooperating teacher, as well as other teachers in the different department. There was

other staff in the school, which I grew very fond of as well; specifically, the old woman in

San Andres who have been very helpful to us.

I learned many things through my student teaching experience, which will shape

the way I teach for years to come. The biggest and most important thing I learned during

student teaching is to be confident. In the beginning of the semester, I was a little timid

with my students, even while presenting them information that I know backwards and

forwards. After a couple weeks, however, I was more comfortable in front of the class.

This experience has taught me that students are much more likely to buy into your class

and listen to you when you come in with a positive and confident demeanor. Once I gained

my confidence in the class, I had more fun with teaching, and my students had more fun as

well. My increased confidence levels definitely translated to the students doing better in

class, and even worked to stem some of the problems I had with classroom management.

Respect for myself and my students ties into this as well, and is closely related to the

relationships you have with students. I learned that respect and confidence would go a long

way in terms of connecting and maintaining relationships with your students, which does

help the classroom atmosphere and performance.

B. Family Background

Mother’s Name: Grace Genove

Father’s Name: Mario Genove

Mother’s Occupation: Sari-sari store

Father’s Occupation: Farmer

No. Of Siblings: two

C. Case History

This case study is all about the student who always catch my attention. His

behavior is differ from his classmates. I can say that this student is very active at all

times, and there are times that he tried to bully his classmates. When it comes to

classroom management, he has a lot of tardiness in school attendance. He is always late

in the first period I tried to know him better, I heard that this boy is from the lower

section and transfer to the first section. In fact, he was not efficient when it comes to

study. He is lazy when it comes to passing requirements and even in the examination

period. He is very stubborn, but in the other side of him, he is very active and jolly

person. He is a joker in the class. Alvin was one of my students in grade-8 Mindanao.

When I had my first teaching in their class. I thought he was truly quiet and shy to engage

in the class discussion but I was wrong.

As I observed to him, I can see a boy who often seek attention from his family

and classmates.
D. Theoretical application

This part present the information and finding with the child.

I. The Child as a total person

1.1 Physical Development

Alvin is a small boy with a very slim body built. He has a dark complexion and he

was often wears white clothes, black pants and slippers. At first look, I cannot say that he

is a grade 8 student because of his look. In the physical development of the child, he id

different with others I think he has ADHD (Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity Disorder) it

is a common behavioral disorder that affects about 10% of the school age children.

1.2 Intellectual Development

When it comes to intellectual development, I can say that this student cannot easily

understand the lesson. However, if you tried to motivate him to answer he can. In fact, he

is very good in writing and in drawing; because when I tell to them to do a poster making

he was very creative.

1.3 Emotional Development

The emotional development of child is like a rock. What I mean is, he not sensitive

even if the teacher getting anger with him. Like easy go lucky person.

1.4 Social Development

When it comes to social development of a child, he is very sociable. He is very

friendly and the same time bully and in other hand he also experiencing bullying..

1.5 Moral/ Spiritual Development

In the Moral / Spiritual Development, I can say that he is not fully develop. He is

act like a childish thus always play and play. Alvin is nice boy, he respect all his teacher

and me. Still, there are many chances to change his attitudes/character. During our classes

opening prayer he knows how to do the sign of the cross but he barely go to the church he

say’s when I ask him.

I. The Adolescence in Context

It is clearly shows that his environment period affect his life. If we tried to observe

his background information his mother is a sari-sari store vendor, and his mother has no
time for him as well as his father. Therefore, because of his environment in their hose there

are possibilities that he wants affection. He wanted to get the attention of his parents and

siblings but because they have some things to prioritize, he feels alone and unloved. He

wanted to be cared just like the other child he knew. He is also a sociable person; he is

noisy in the class, and his almost late. Moreover, I think his family has a busy scheduled

so he cannot handle him.

II. The Phenomenological Dimensions

This part shall present the basic concept of the child’s experiences regarding his

family and the people surrounding him.

3.1 Play

Alvin often play chess to the grade 8 students but he said he loves playing

basketball more. Usually every after school he goes to the court near their house

to play.

3.2 Story Telling

This part shows the real emotions and feelings of the subject through his words.

Alvin, as I have known, he is not really used to sharing what he truly feels but

through genuine conversation, he gave me the chance to know his story.

He chose to keep it to himself. I can feel that he is afraid to share his feelings

because he is afraid to be taken for granted maybe because he already

experienced that at his early age. I can already picture his relationship to his

parents and siblings. This time I feel his dedication to go to school even if he

has no allowance by that time, he never get late and not showing tardiness in

my class since I talk to him personally. I once asked him if he often experiencing

bullying and he says yes. I also asked him about his teacher at home or someone

is helping him to his assignment and or if he was able to do his assignment at

home. Then he answered in a shy smile and says that no one teach him and I

asked even your parents, and then he said yes, that both of his parents are too

busy from their work and there is no time to teach him. In that time, I can feel

his loneliness from his family.

III. Synthesis and Assessment

This case study shows the total development of one person. It includes his

physical, emotional, intellectual, social and moral/spiritual aspects. This said

aspects are important for the whole development of an individual.
