METHODOLOGY

This chapter deals the methodology it includes the following, namely:

research design, research setting, sampling procedure, data-gathering instrument,

validity and reliability, data-gathering procedure, scoring guidelines and

statistical treatment of data.

Research Design

The study will make use of mixed method research design Creswell (2003)

specifically, Creswell (2003) is the sequential explanatory design, in which

qualitative data are used to enhance, complement, and in some cases follow up on

unexpected quantitative findings. Quantitative data are collected and analyzed

first, followed by the collection and analysis of qualitative data

This research study will quantitative data first as used in descriptive

research, according to Creswell (2003) maintained that descriptive research is an

approach which the inquirer often makes knowledge claims based primarily on

constructivist perspectives are constructed with as intent of participatory

perspectives in quantitative perspective and data analysis. This study will then

use Qualitative data analysis through Marketability; Marketing Plan, Production

Plan, Organizational Plan and Financial Plan or personal interviews or focus group

discussion to further reinforce, deepen and clarify quantitative results.

Research Setting

The setting of this study was conducted at (state the name of the school,

address, mission vision of the school, mission vision of the college and mission

vision of department)

The Respondents of the Study and sampling procedure

The study will make use of (purposive sampling if all) (simple random

sampling if not all) with strategic approach. (discus how sample is chosen).

The respondents of the study are (number in numeric and in words) from

the (state the school).

Research Instrument

For the purpose of this the study the researcher will make use of a research

made instrument on (dependent variable including sub variables). A researcher

made instruments also be utilized to gather respondents (profile/characteristics) (

input variable).

Categorization of variable and Scoring Guidelines

Response Range Implication

At all times/strongly agree 3.70- 4.00 very good

Most of the times/ agree 2.80- 3.69 good

10
IMMANUEL MISSION INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Sometimes/disagree 1.90- 2.79 poor

Never /Strongly disagree 1.00 -1.89 very poor

Category/competency Overall Description

9-10 40-50 Excellent/ outstanding

7-8 30-39 Good/ very satisfactory

5-6 20-29 Average/ satisfactory

3-4 10-19 Poor

0-2 0-9 Very Poor

Validity and Reliability

The researcher made instrument was reviewed and evaluated by a

specialist in the field. Performances and non-continues scored items will be

tested for reliability using Kurder Richardson KR21. And Affective and

continues scored items will be tested for reliability using Cronbach coefficient

alpha.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researcher will secure permission to administer the questionnaire from

the schools of (state the school) under the supervision of the (state the immediate

head, and over-all head)

11
IMMANUEL MISSION INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Upon approval, the researcher (will create the innovated products) and the

researcher will disseminate the survey questionnaire on (dependent variable)

(together with the products will be utilized) in collecting the answers of the

respondents. The questionnaire will consist of 18 questions and will be

disseminated to the above-mention respondents. The retrieval of the instruments

was done by the researcher. After data analysis on the (independent and

dependent variable), the group quantified to be highest in terms of

(dependent)acceptability will be the group for (qualitative data process and

analysis)

(discuss qualitative procedures on interviews or focus group discussion) or

insert (Marketability of the innovated products will be implemented within the

university, from which similar products in the university canteen will be

considered primary competition in terms of marketability)

Statistical Tool Used

The study will make use of descriptive statistics; mean, standard deviation,

frequency, percentage and percentage distribution on all variables, dependent and

independent. The research will makes use of inferential statistic, test of difference,

T-test, Analysis of Variance (ANNOVA) to compare the (dependent variable)

when grouped according to ( independent variable). (Pearson correlation

coefficient will be used to test correlation between variables) and (regression

12
IMMANUEL MISSION INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
analysis will be used to test on how much of the (input/process/independent

variable) explain (the output/dependent variable) of the study.
