There is an ever increasing use of technology, such as tablets and laptops, in the classroom. It is often
argued that this is a positive development, whilst others disagree and think it will lead to adverse
ramifications. This essay agrees that an increase in technology is beneficial to students and teachers.
This essay will discuss both points of view.

It is clear that the Internet has provided students with access to more information than ever before.
Moreover, learners have the ability to research and learn about any subject at the touch of a button. It is
therefore agreed that technology is a very worthwhile tool for education. Wikipedia is a prime example,
where students can simply type in any keyword and gain access to in-depth knowledge quickly and
easily.

However, many disagree and feel that technology deprives people of real human interaction. Human
interaction teaches people valuable skills such as discourse, debate and empathy. Despite this, human
interaction is still possible through the internet and this essay disagrees technology should be dismissed
for this reason. For instance, Skype and Facebook make it possible for people to interact in ways that
were never before possible.

While the benefits of technology, particularly the internet, allow students to tap into limitless sources of
information, some still feel that people should be wary of this new phenomena and not allow it to curb
face to face interaction. However, as long as we are careful to keep in mind the importance of human
interaction in education, the educational benefits are clearly positive.

For some people, factual consideration on the topic that computer should not be used by children until
they are mentally and socially sound brings to light the immense importance of upbringing children in
modern technological age while at the same time, others argue that computer will immensely benefit
children in learning fast and better. It seems hard nut to crack to bring these two opposing thoughts
under single umbrella regarding the given topic; however, in this essay, I will establish why computer is
not the right choice for children before they become mentally and socially intelligent.

According to the systematic interpretation of first group of people, computer makes children aloof from
society. As a result, children cannot develop mental and social behaviors required for their future
professional and personal success in the world. Furthermore, children are more prone to the damaging
content available on-line via computer which destroys their moral values. Since, children don’t
understand the difference between right and wrong, they can fall to anything that looks exciting.

A set of thoughts by the second group reveals that computer can be effectively used as a tool for
learning and education for children. This is necessitated by the fact that Internet provides a wealth of
free knowledge on-line which children can learn if they are exposed to the computer at early age.
Moreover, computer provides learning games and quizzes which help children develop their metal
intelligence and simulations for social intelligence.

Conclusively, it is clear from the above discussion that though computer is an essential tool but metal
and behavioral learning comes from parents in a social context rather than technology. Technology does
play its role but sole dependence on technology for children’s learning goals is misleading and
devastating for children’s future.

Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research,
business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too
valuable to be shared freely.

Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

That knowledge is wealth is only true by sharing and implementing the same because sharing
multiplies its value. While some people support the free sharing of scientific, academic and business
information, there are still others who hold the opinion that some specific information has to be
safeguarded. In this essay, I will discuss both the point of views before reaching a final verdict.

To begin with, information related to medical research must be shared because it can save lives. For
example, the swine flu vaccine saved thousands of lives. If the researchers who developed this vaccine
had not shared it with others, thousands of people would have perished. In the same way, information
related to new technologies should also be shared because it has the power to improve the quality of
lives of people. Take, for instance, the case of the Internet. It would not have become such a huge
success if only a few countries had access to it. Today, the Internet connects billions of people living
across the world. It enables tens of thousands of small entrepreneurs to earn a living by selling their
products or services to buyers all over the world. Needless to say, the sharing of information certainly
has many benefits.

However, some information cannot be shared because it will endanger the lives of people. For example,
information regarding the nuclear weapons or military of a country cannot be shared with others. If
enemy countries gain access to that information, it can hurt the security of people living in that country.
Further, some information has been gleaned from a painstaking research and it is costly. For example,
space exploration and scientific research cost billions of dollars and books on different topics authored
by writers. If this type of information is available gratis, it could disturb the budget of a country and
compromise the rights of an author respectively.

To conclude, there are certainly many benefits to sharing useful information with others. However,
sensitive information pertaining to the safety and security of a country and its people should not be
shared with others.
