Shataangaayuh 100 = All Limbs Nourishing Harmonizing - Healing Enlivening Integrating - Mantraha
From the Mrtyunjaya Stotram of the Maarkandeya Puraana
A profound mantra to get in touch with the destructive principle, “everything shall pass away” all is
seen means gone and one offers non-resistance to the time-death fact we cannot change. *Death
does not mean going into non-existence just resolving into unmanifest being. In this mantra mangala
shabda (auspicious sounds) are given by Maarkandeya Rshi. Sounds with a special formula; it is
formulated to create a certain vibration, a subtle vibration to integrate the whole personality. Sacred
sounds help cross sorrow, process pain, bless with auspicious situations for emotional maturity and
clarity of knowledge of oneself, the world and god as one non dual being that is free from all
limitations. This is the intention of the Jijnaasu, the one who is desirous of self-knowledge, which is
Moksha. If ones motive is for ones own or another’s health it will manifest these results also. Before
we chant the mantra we explicitly state our intention.
The shataangaayuhu mantraha has many beeja mantras, estoric sounds in the form of seed syllables
that means that the sound symbol when chanted with shraddha (trust), bhakti (devotion) and
concentration, attempting to pronounce it correctly also will produce punyam, adrshta phalam
(unseen result that will bless the person with emotional maturity). A sound symbol connected to
Ishvara, a manifestation of the harmony of Ishvara, by chanting it we harmonize our body mind
complex with Ishvara as Dharma, as all the dharmic laws. All traditional initiated mantras are like
this. When mantras are given by revered mentors who have been initiated and know their meaning
and have chanted them thousands of times they are then very potent and will bless the initiated.
The more one chants the more result one will attain.
Om Sarvasya beejam, the one most profound symbol not a form symbol but a
sound symbol for Ishvara – God (not pronounced aum but om)
Om avati raksati iti Om, that which protects is Om
Om invokes God, not one god or many gods but only god, “the infallible”,
when I acknowledge my helplessness I get help from someone who doesn’t
need any help.
The one who chants it, is protected and invokes Ishvara
