C. Level Up

It is important that you learn ways to organize information. This module will
discuss ways to organize information through brainstorming technique.

Brainstorming is the actual thinking of ideas. It is usually done by thinking of a

subject and ideas related to it. There are three techniques under brainstorming; word
storm, idea map and idea list.

WORD STORM

This is the best technique to elaborate a major topic. First you will be given a broad
topic or you might think of it yourself. Put the topic on the top of whatever shape you want,
then write the word that comes to your mind below it in a continuous manner after seeing,
hearing and analysing what word or words might be related to the topic. Take a look at the
example below.

.
WASTE
MISMANAGEMENT
IRRESPONSIBILITY
ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE
GLOBAL WARMING
IDEA MAP

The idea map is simple drawing of a template with a general idea at its center wherein
it will be surrounded or branched where we can add or sort related but smaller ideas from the
bigger topic. This is one of the techniques which you can apply in narrowing down your
topic.

IDEA LIST

The list is the simplest of all brainstorming techniques out there. You can just do it by
listing ideas about a topic numbered or bulleted. It is like writing the things you need to do.
Take a look at the example below.

Kindness
 Rendering service or a helping hand to those who are in need
 Doing good things to others
 Being courteous to others
