2 MammoUnit firmware 8
1.1 Notes
This document basically describes the firmware installation for the MammoUnit system
component.
Only qualified and system-trained service staff is allowed to perform MAMMOMAT Inspi‐
ration system installation, service, maintenance, and quality assurance. Ensure that the
most recent version of the service documentation is on hand.
To avoid any risk of injury to persons and/or damage to the system read and observe the
General Safety Notes (TD00-000.860.01.xx.02).
1.1.1.1 Icons
X Warning about ionizing radiation or radioactive substances. Tests and adjustments that
must be performed with the radiation switched on are indicated by this radiation warning
icon.
NOTICE
The screen shots in this document are used for illustration and orientation purpo‐
ses.
For this reason, the actual screen may show some differences.
NOTICE
The installation of software/firmware not released or validated for the system is
strictly prohibited.
Otherwise, the syngo software or one or more of its applications may mal‐
function.
1.1.3.2 Condition
Before the firmware can be updated, the MammoUnit must be in good condition and
functioning properly, or must be brought into good condition.
1.1.3.5 Passwords
The required passwords are not included in this document. You will find them in the CS
Knowledge Base on the intranet or you can obtain them from the relevant USC or RSC.

1.2 Requirements
1.2.2 Backup
n Although loading the MammoUnit firmware will not affect the configuration parame‐
ter or settings of the MammoUnit, performing a backup is recommended prior to in‐
stalling or updating the firmware. MammoUnit settings or parameters are stored on
CBS.
1. Log in to “Local Service” and select “Acquisition System / Web Service Interface”.
The Web service interface opens.
2. From the main menu, select “Backup/Restore” and then scroll down and click “Back‐
up” in the window.
A window pops up asking you to select the destination path of the backup.

3. Click “Save”.
The “Choose File” box opens.
4. Select the destination path “C:\AWS\MammoUnit”, enter the file name in this format:
“MU_Config_YYYY_MM_DD.mcf” (for example, MU_Config_2008_06_09.mcf), and
then click “Save” to start the backup procedure.
The folder C:\AWS\MammoUnit will be part of the WH AWS backup procedure.
5. Confirm the message box with “Close” when the file download is complete.

6. From the MammoUnit main menu, select “Set Time and IP Address” and then “Con‐
fig IP”.

Procedure:
1. Switch on the WH AWS.
The MammoUnit stays off!
2. On the WH AWS, perform “Restart Application,” and then log in as administrator.
Find the standard password in the knowledge base.
Make sure to shut down the syngo application before beginning the MammoUnit config‐
uration restore procedure!
The stand display shows the configured IP address, MammoUnit firmware ver‐
sion, and the MammoUnit status, in this example shown with firmware VA00D.

6. When the MammoUnit is ready for download, click “Start” to initiate the firmware up‐
date for the CBS and CBA.

The update starts and a progress bar is displayed to indicate that the update is
“Preparing...”.
The complete update time is 5 to 10 minutes.
7. When the update is finished, a dialog is displayed confirming that the update was suc‐
cessful. Click “OK” to close the program.
The MammoUnit will restart itself once the update is completed.
