Activity 7

There are a lot of different restaurants or cafes in my country. You can find
traditional cafes where people play games during they have their coffees;
modern coffees where you can try different coffees from around the world.
About restaurants, in my country the kind of them depends of the place or
region where they are. Of course, you can try a lot of different foods and
something very tradicional here, tapas.

Activity 11

a. What is your town and what’s special about it?

I am living in a village right now. It's name is Villalpando and it's in the province
of Zamora. However, I was born in Salamanca city. This last place is a small
city in Castilla y León, one of the seventeen autonomous community in Spain,
and I think It's a wonderful place if you want to study in a old and famous
university.

b. Where do people usually live and work?

Most people in this city work in restaurants, coffees anf hotels and live in the
city.

c. What do people do in their free time?

In their free time, people go to different bares and have some drink with tapas.

d. What multicultural is your city?

Finally, I would like to say that Salamanca is a multicultural city because her
University. Every year go to this city almost thirty thousand students from
different countries around the world.

As a result of globalisation, we have the same products, the same brands,

the same experiences. Give examples of experiences, products and
brands that are the same all over the world.

For example, when I was working in Salamanca in a spanish language private

school, once in Madrid in one activity with United States students, they go to
one Starbuscks for having coffee instead of doing it in one spanish tradicional
bar there. This surprised and show me that people go to international brands
and don't take advantage of the opportunity to try some different.

One more example happend to me when I traveled to differents countries.

Everytime I could see McDonalds, Starbucks, and other international fast food
restaurants. I also could see people wearing the same clothes with the same
brands.

Finally, because you can buy by internet all of you want today, a lot of people
around the world use the same products.

Influence from others countries to my country.

I think about clothes probably the most important influences come from Italy or
maybe USA. It's possible to find people wearing clothes similar to actors,
singers and other famouse people.

About food it is possible that the main influence comes from USA, because fast
food restaurants begun in this country. Today is common people call this
restaurants for to have a dinner, for example.

Of course USA is the most influence country around the world about tv and
films. In this country we can found Hollywood, where the most of films are
produced and filmed.

Finally, it is the same country that have influenced in mine with celebrations like
Halloween, Santa Claus...
