Introduction
Secure Remote Services (SRS) is a two-way connection between your EMC products
and solutions and EMC Customer Service. Helping to turn IT teams into the heroes
they deserve to be, SRS provides:
l Proactive remote monitoring and repair
l 5x faster issue resolution times
l 15% higher levels of availability
SRS even enables EMC to often address a potential problem before there is any
impact.
Key Benefits of SRS
Secure - Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256-bit encryption ensures data
privacy and RSA digital certificates bi-laterally authenticate your product’s connection
with EMC.
Proactive - SRS enables EMC to deliver customized recommendations, alerts, and
advice through the Customer Service Account Management teams and the EMC
Online Support site.
Virtual - As a virtual appliance, SRS is now much more flexible and built to scale with
the needs of our customers. No more dedicated physical hardware or operating
system licensing fees.
Simple - Follow these simple steps to get SRS-connected and begin your proactive
services journey:
1. Prepare your environment – plan to deploy one or more ESX, Hyper-V or Linux
(with Docker) servers
2. Download SRS from the EMC Online Support site
3. Install and configure the SRS virtual appliance as well as the optional SRS Policy
Manager
Free - If your EMC products are currently under a valid Enhanced or Premium
warranty or maintenance contract, SRS is available at no charge.
