PAINTING DESIGNATION STANDARD

1. General
1.1 This standard is adopted from JIS Z 9102 - 1976
1.2 All color numbers specified below refer to Nippont Paint, Platone 8000 series
Color card, unless otherwise stated. Equivalent color might be used.
1.3 Surfaces that may or may not need base color painting, depending on specific
Requirement:
 Stainless steel
 Insulated
 FRP, PVC and non metal material
1.4 Red color indicates fire fighting, stop or forbidden, orange color indicates
danger, and yellow color indicates attention. These colors must not be used
Indiscriminately for other purposes.

2. Piping
Piping designation color should be painted next to every valve, flange or union.
For length installation pipe, the arrow & label must be painted every 50000 mm.

Label For Not Painted Piping
All piping installation such us: stainless steel, plastic (PVC), FRP and insulated pipes has
been not painted along pipe but must be provided with label.
1. Label must be painted on the pipe if the paint can be sticky on the surface of
pipe/insulated.
2. If the paint can’t be sticky on the surface of pipe/insulated or pipe too hot/cold,
the label must be hanging on the pipe as drawing below:
3. For all chemicals piping installation plate label must be painted with black color
and letter yellow color.
