1. Looking at verse 1, what do they mean?
i. “A good name is better than fine perfume”?
3. In verse 4, “the heart of the wise is in the house of mourning”. This suggest that there is
wisdom to be learned in a funeral that you cannot learn in a birthday party. What wisdom can
you learn from a funeral?
4. What do these verses mean practically? And what wisdom and rebukes can death give for
each?
V7 Foolishness of greed leads to moral compromises.
“Extortion turns a wise person into a fool, and a Death rebukes us: Can we bring these money gains
bribe corrupts the heart.” into the next life?

“The end of a matter is better than its beginning,
and patience is better than pride.”

“Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for
anger resides in the lap of fools.”

“Do not say, “Why were the old days better than
these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions.”
5. From verses 13-14, how does these verses add to what the teacher is saying?
Main Point: Death is able to teach us to ____ _______, but living wisely ultimately does not have

Application:
1. How then can we live with the limitations of wisdom then in this life?
2. We cannot know what lies ahead, so what encouragement do we have?
