 The Inquiry Process
Inquiry is an approach to learning where
students find and use a variety of sources of
information and ideas to increase their
understanding of a problem, topic or issue of
importance. It requires investigation and
exploration and enhanced by involvement from
social interaction.
When to begin:
When your students have lots of questions or
show interest or wonder about a particular
topic, it is time to capitalize on this teachable
moment. Because the interest stems from the
children and their personal interests, the
children will be more engaged and committed
to the inquiry process
