I. Objective: determine the meaning and purpose of the poem listened to.
II. Subject Matter:
Topic:My Neighbor by Ricardo Demetillo

III. Developmental Activities:


Activity: Let the learners form four (4) groups. Instruct them to study the unfamiliar words using a thesaurus
then let them perform the task assigned to them. The teacher will read the poem. Tell them to take note of
the key ideas of the poem.
Analysis: Process questions:
1. Why did the neighbor build high walls around his residence?
2. Describe the neighbors attitude towards others?
Abstraction: Let the learners sum up all the things they learned about the poem. Encourage learners’
participation.
Application: Let reflect on how they treat their neighbors and how they adapt to their fellow by drawing an
illustration. Let them present their illustration afterwards.

IV. Evaluation: Listen as the teacher reads the questions aloud. Write the letter of the correct answer.
