I. OBJECTIVES: Define Analogy


Name different types of Analogy
a. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of: contemporary
Philippine literature as a means of responding demands of the global
village; various extended text types; lexical and contextual cues;
appropriate and polite oral language, stance, and behavior; and use of
imperatives, prepositions, verbs, and wh- questions.
b. Performance Standards The learner transfers learning by: explaining the needs to be
cooperative and responsible in today’s global village; using appropriate
strategies to comprehend extended text types; using lexical and
contextual clues to understand unfamiliar words and expressions;
using imperatives, prepositions, and appropriate and polite oral
language, stance and behavior in various information-sharing
formats.

a. Review/ Lesson The teacher will discuss and define analogy to the students.
Presentation
b. Purpose Establishment The teacher will present 3 (three) slides and each slide contain three
different pictures. She will then ask the students to come up with an
answer to complete the analogy for each slide.
c. Exemplification Examples of analogy will be presented.
d. Discussion Different types of analogy will be discussed thoroughly.

e. Mastery Development The students will complete different analogies and identify its kind.
f. Generalization/Abstraction The teacher will then reiterate the definition and function of analogy.

An analogy simply points out the similarities between two things.

g. Evaluation Students will be presented of phrases and they will have to choose
which phrase among the choices will best complete the given
analogy.

b. Differentiate Homonyms from Homophones.

imperatives, prepositions, verbs, and wh- questions.

b. Purpose Establishment The teacher will present examples for each homonymous words.
c. Exemplification The teacher will differentiate homonyms from homophones through
the given examples.
d. Discussion Homophones and Homonyms will be discussed thoroughly by the
teacher by asking the students whether the following examples to be
presented homonym or homophone.

e. Mastery Development Students will identify the correct definition that best describe the
word used in each sentence. (HOMONYM)
Students will also fill in the blanks by choosing the appropriate word
to complete the thought in the sentence. (HOMOPHONE)
f. Generalization/Abstraction The teacher will then reiterate the difference between a homonym
and a homophone.

g. Evaluation Students will be a copy of their activity.


The teacher will then explain the directions.
