Why are Burgers Bad for Your Health?

A juicy burger filled with toppings of your choice and melted cheese inside it sounds

good. However, these burgers are actually very harmful for your well-being. When people eat

burgers, their cholesterol levels. rise, cholesterol levels, and they are exposed to strange and

unhealthy components inside too. Fat and calories are also found in your burger which will lead

to weight gain.

Fat and calories are one other major ingredient in burgers. Whenever people burgers

more often, weight gain starts to occur. So, every day they gain weight in reasonable measures.

For example, from one little hamburger, a person can gain approximately 50 grams of fat; as

pack almost 1,000 calories into each burger, which to me comes as a total shock. That is actually

one half of what an average human being eats in a day. A thought which also came as

disturbance is the recommended serving for a person is 4 ounces per meal, but fast foods serve

more than double that size. That adds up to 8-12 ounces per meal and can affect a person’s

average weight by an unhealthy amount, especially if you are eating burgers more than two or

three times a week.


Not only do burgers affect a person’s weight, they can also be a cause of infection, high-

blood pressure, and even, in some cases, heart disease, all of which are very dangerous for one’s

well-being. Did you know that only one burger has more than 50 different cows' in it? That cows

are all put together in one batch, and that can increase the risk of contamination and infection

from the cows to food. Burgers contain trans-fat, which is found in meat and is known to raise

cholesterol levels as well as high-saturated fat which can cause heart disease. One hamburger

contains 229 saturated fat which is 108% of the daily value, and 172 ml (57%) of cholesterol

based on the 2’000-calorie diet!

Have you ever wondered what are some of the components lurking inside your burger?

Ammonia, additives, cartilage, nerve tissue and connective tissue are just a few of the strange

ingredients in there. Also, toppings like ketchup are condiments that are filled up with high-

fructose corn syrup while a slice of cheese adds up to 220 calories and 500 ml of sodium. Have

you ever heard of such an ingredient as Ammonia? Well I hadn’t, and now that I have, I regret

eating burgers because one of their ingredients is a pink gooey mixture that mechanically

separates meat products that are treated with ammonia to kill bacteria. Although is very

commonly used as a “Low-cost ground beef filler,” researchers noted from everyday health.com.

Which is a horrible thing to be eating. There are even more dangerous and horrible for well-

being ingredients to be found that are smuggled inside hamburgers.

Burgers are a very delicious food, as well as very cheap. People might also say that there

are certain things in burgers that are actually good for you. But even though they might need to

spend a little more money they should buy healthier foods, and make a balanced healthy life

style.
In conclusion, I think that burgers are particularly bad for human health and damage

people and their bodies. They shouldn’t put themselves in danger just because of a “craving” for

burgers. They should never put themselves at risk for cheap old fast food. If they do, the

consequence will start controlling them and will cause them to gain. They should change their

life by excluding these perilous burgers going inside of you. Protect yourself and choose a better

way to eat!
