The Festival Dance Competition showcases how the different communities have
historically used dance in their daily lives Gestures, movement patterns, costumes,
jewelry, and musical instrumentation all reveal the regional culture and historical
backgrounds. . .their aesthetic roots and even the ecology of their surroundings..
1. Concept or theme for performance, costume and props must depict the culture,
values and tradition of the region or locality represented;
2. The composition of the contingent in every cluster must be within the MINIMUM OF
FIFTEEN (15) MAXIMUM OF TWENTE FIVE (25) DANCERS
3. Each performance shall be limited to FIVE (5) MINUTES excluding the entrance and
exit. The five (5) minute period begins as soon as the participants of a contingent are
properly set up in front of the judging stage and ends as soon as the first participant
leaves the judging area.
4. For every five (5) seconds in excess of the allowable time, a penalty of one (1) point
shall be deducted from the total score of all the judges. Canned music or live music is
allowed.

8. To determine which contingent goes first in the Competition, each representative will
draw lots for the sequence one (1) hour before the competition.
